I think my boys liked it better than I did, but they were annoyed at the ending. The writing lends itself to a younger reader and it was a mildly amusing read-aloud. Did give some good thoughts about working hard for something you want and developing responsibility.
The boy is given three things from his grandfather. One of them is a crumpled up dirty ten-dollar bill. He decides to plant it because something seems to be telling him to do so. It then begins to grow ten-dollar bills. He decides he can use the money to help his family buy a new house, car, etc. In the beginning of the story it mentions that he had heard about a house in Ohio where plates and things went flying around a house, and attributes that idea to the presence of a ghost. Shortly into the story the boy decides that maybe the reason his 10-dollar bill is producing additional money may be due to the presence of a ghost. I did not finish reading this book.
