The First Shot

Rate this book
Charles Miller goes back in time to the Battle of Lexington
in 1775 after being visited by Ben Sampson, who lives in
1775 and appears in 2006 in the Miller home in Lexington.
Charles and Ben spend eleven hours of tension, anxiety
and turmoil before and during the Battle. Charles meets
Ben's father and other Minutemen, as well as Paul Revere,
John Hancock, Sam Adams and Captain John Parker, all
of whom Charles sees as real people rather than the
larger-than-life characters of history books.

As they share in the adventures of Charles and Ben, young
readers will learn about one of the great events of
American history. They also will discover who fired the
shot that began the Battle of Lexington – one of the
mysteries of American history – and the American Revolution.

Full disclosure ... my dad wrote it ... that said, still a great read. I give it to friends for their children and the kids love it.
