Cross Referencing a Book of Summer

Rate this book
Holly Day has received two Midwest Writer’s Grants, and her awards a Plainsongs Award, a Sam Ragan Prize for Poetry, & a Dwarf Star Award from the Science Fiction Poetry Association. Her published poetry books include “A Wall to Protcet Your Eyes”; “In This Place She Is Her Own”; “A Perfect Day for Semaphore” “I’m in a Place Where Reason Went Missing”; and “Folios of Dried Flowers and Pressed Birds”; and “Where We Went Wrong”. This work confirms a sense of craft, and a skillful use of language that is, at once, approachable and as expert as our lauded poets of deified repute. Subtle in point of view, these poems show an observer of the ordinary with a keen eye and a sense of wit. Some poems are brief horror stories in a modern-classic vein, others are observations of the horror we have bestowed as humans, but there’s just the observation, a look-at-that sense of the prosaic aspect of a nightmare we can all participate in just by looking. ~ Su Zi, author, Lit (Jammin Productions), Tropical Depression (Outlandish Press
