What is excellence? Can it be attained? And if so, how? In excellence, Henry B Eyring. Mary Anne Q Wood, Elizabeth Haglund, Bruce C Hafen, and others examine these questions from a gospel perspective. Twelve thought provoking essays cover excellence in education, excellence for ordinary people, excellence and its dangers, and excellence as a realistic goal. all harmonized by the central truth that we approach excellence as we live true to our divine heritage and the commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Excellence is a collection of essays complied in 1985 from noted individuals, all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. All are good but my favorite is the essay written by Elizabeth Haglund.
Fabulous collection of essays on many different aspects of excellence, including optimizing relationships, defending the need for a depth and breadth in education, the importance of ethics accompanying the attainment of knowledge and success, etc. Some essays were particularly outstanding, including the "bookends" of T. H. Bell and Reba Keele, but all were worth the read. I only wish the book was still widely available - and I'd rate it 4.7 if I could.
this book was so great! It really helped me think about knowledge and education. this book is kind of hard to explain. but it was really good and i think that it should be read by every one.
