Pastor Hosea Bush and Pastor Lester Adams have been selected to run for president of the American Baptist Coalition. Pastor Bush represents the Northern region while Pastor Adams represents the South. Either of these great men of God would be able to serve the coalition with honor and in a respectable and Godly manner. But, wait a minute, who are their wives?

Enter Jasmine Bush and Rachel Adams and here comes the drama!

Jasmine is already rethinking her promise to God that she has kept for two years she feels her husband Pastor Bush needs her help to get this position. Jasmine’s husband, Hosea, believes that if it’s God’s will he will get the position. Jasmine, on the other hand, feels her husband needs her help to get this position and puts the wheels in motion to make it so.

Rachel Adams is no better. Though warned by her husband not to get involved, she too believes her husband, Lester, will benefit from her assistance in securing his position.

Both ladies are ready to take the gloves off and get down and dirty, forgetting the skeletons in each of their own closets.

“Sinners & Saints” was a VERY good book and easy read. This book has it all. I highly recommend it. There will be a book two and I’m looking forward to it.

The church ladies go at it to one-up the other. Each lady believes their husband should be President of the Atlanta Baptist Coalition (ABC). There's more drama than Pastor Hosea or Pastor Lester could ever comprehend. But, it's such a political/powerful position that Jasmine and Rachel equally aspire to win-the coveted title. These women, along with Mae Francis, are hilarious characters written with such devilish, devious... ideals. Pun intended! IMO, a negative to the audio version was the strained vocals, but I managed to the ending. Three *** rating.

To sum it up, this book is all about some church shenanigans! 🤷🏽 It was on my TBR list while I'm waiting for my Libby books to become available. Happy reading!

Jasmine Larson Bush never imagined that she could become the first lady. The first lady of the American Baptist Coalition (ABC) that is. Her husband Hosea informs Jasmine that he has been nominated by the church to represent the North division for the ABC. Now all Jasmine can picture is all the things she will do once she is the first lady. Though, first her husband has to win and he is running against Rachel’s husband, Lester.

Rachel can not wait until she becomes the first lady. Than she can hang out with Michelle…Obama that is! Rachel knows she is the right woman for the job. Besides what type of woman is Jasmine that her secrets can by found on the website Dirt Diggers? When the current first lady of the ABC will not step down without a fight, will Jasmine and Rachel band together to take down the current first lady or will it be every woman for herself?

I read The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil by Ms. Murray and enjoyed it. So when I read about this collaboration she did with new to me author, ReShonda Tate Billingsley, I thought I would check it out. I am glad that I did. This book provided me with some good comedic relief. Something that I was not expecting but it was a nice surprise. Watching Jasmine and Rachel go after each other with their comments that usually included sharp thorns was funny. Both Ms. Murray and Ms. Billingsley did a good job with this book. I could not tell when one voice stopped and the next one started. My vote goes for Jasmine. I felt she was picked on the most and yet she was the nicest one. So whom will you choose…Team Jasmine or Team Rachel? To cast your vote, pick up a copy of Sinners and Saints today!

Devious, conniving, self-indulgent, sinister, lying, cheating, so-called First Ladies? I was appalled by the suggestion. I was forced to ponder the possibility of their existence in real life. Sure an author or authors can conjure up any personality with the creative flick of their imaginations. But, this concept just did not sit well with my spiritual psyche. I hope that what has been portrayed is JUST imagination and not rooted in reality.

I was emotionally drawn into the manipulating tactics of these women married to men of the cloth and the apparent differences in their foundation of faith between them and their husbands. I was not happy. But, I was entertained.

Sinners and Saints was a well rehearsed collaboration between two talented authors who Must be friends as well. The book was seamless and the choreography was stellar. Each voice moved effortlessly to tell the story of two characters who have their own following of readers and supporters. Although, I was familiar with Jasmine Larsen Bush, I have only through this book made acquaintance with Rachel Adams. What an introduction.

If you are a VCM fan, you will not be disappointed. I dare say the same is true for ReShonda Tate Billingsley fans as well. Surely, this will not be the last of the "meeting of the minds" of Jasmine and Rachel. I heard they travel across Country together. One can only hope.

Plan B

If you think Mob Wives, Basketball Wives or any one of those Real Housewives anywhere are custom fitted with drama, scandal, and deceit, then you need to run up on first ladies, Jasmine Larson Bush and Rachel Jackson Adams. Both are certain that their husband has what it takes to be the president of the ABC - American Baptist Coalition.

Although Hosea Bush is repping the North and Lester Adams the South, there's only one coveted position. May the best woman win, as Jasmine and Rachel prepare to do battle to get what they both want. How far are both ladies willing to go for the win?

When I first heard that SINNERS & SAINTS was to be a collaboration featuring the bad girls Jasmine (Victoria Christopher Murray) and Rachel (ReShonda Tate Billingsley) I already knew that readers would be in for a serious battle of wit, attitude and tricks. Because I've read all of the Rachel books, I was proudly flying my TEAM RACHEL flag. However, Lady Jasmine has piqued my interest and I`m going to have to give her a try.

SINNERS & SAINTS was an entertaining read. I'm hoping to see these two together again.

I loved every funny, dramatic word of Sinners and Saints by Victoria Christoper Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley. First Ladies Rachel and Jasmine are so focused on their husbands winning the head of the Baptist Convention, they cannot see how much alike they are. I loved their alternating voice/chapters and the over the top oneupswomanship. I laughed out loud so many times at their antics and could actually hear their voices in my head. I was actually trying to think of who could play them in the movie.

I have never known of first ladies like these two, but this book made me feel they actually exist. And the long suffering preacher- husbands really know their wives, though they had little to no control over them. I have loved the work of both authors for years and this adds to it.

I recommend this book to all who love good, fun, drama-filled books, church folks included. High five!

Victoria Christopher Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley collaborated together on SINNERS & SAINTS. They brought their two favorite female heroines from their respective best sellers, Lady Jasmine and Lady Rachel, together for one rip-roaring, jaw-dropping, hell-raising time. That's right, two First Ladies with the same goal in mind and almost the same thought processes to get it. And nobody is going to stand in their way. Then the two authors, brillantly introduces another heroine that is just as devious and callous as the first two.

Although the book was written by both authors, it reads as if they were one voice. They used that voice and their unique penmanship to lull me into a story about the lives of First Ladies, where according to my teachings, some of their antics should never have happen. I am fully expecting and looking forward to a sequel. I am Team Jasmine right now. Who knows what'll happen later on.

They did it...wrote a story that had me talking to the book and laughing out loud. Lady Jasmine and Rachel want the same thing - for their husband to win the position of president of the American Baptist Coalition but they both can't win. So fight is on and it's going to get dirty...IJS. You didn't hear this from me but that Jasmine reminds me of someone I know while Rachel is straight up country crazy. But God don't like ugly and he ain't to fond of pretty...well that is what my grandma would say about First Lady Cecelia....this is definitely a MUST READ (even if you haven't read the Murray "Lady Jasmine Series" or the Billingsley's "Amen Series". Once you read it tell me whose team you are on...Team Jasmine or Team Rachel?

I don't usually like books that are a collaborative effort, but this one was great. I haven't read many of Reshonda's books, but Victoria Christopher is one of my favorite writers. This book was well written, and it was done in such a way that unless noted, you would not have known that it was a collaboration. Some of the turn of events were shocking--unpredicatable, which is something that I can appreciate in a book. I'm a little shocked to discover that there will be a part two. With the way that it ended, it could have gone either way; I was pleased with the ending, but now even more so since I know that there is more to come. I would read this book again, and I would recommend it.

This review is from an advance copy.

Game knows game, don't try to out s*** the bulls*****, any slang you want to use fit Jasmine and Rachel. These First Ladies didn't trust their own shadow but would stand their ground against any one who tries to hurt their children, family or husband. Pastor Bush and Pastor Adams both had first ladies who kicked butt and ask questions later and let the chips fall.

Three cheers to Victoria Christopher Murry, and ReShonda Tate Billingsley.

1 vote for team Jasmine.

Great collaboration! Rachel and Jasmine are so much alike yet different. They both want their husband to have the prestigious position that will also put them at another level. Is this push for selfish reasons? These ladies are so busy trying to upstage each other they don't see they're the ones being played. Who's going to come out on top?

This is a quick read that oozes with drama. I completed this page turner in one day. The events keep you laughing and shaking your head. Will there be a sequel?

She had promised God if he brought her daughter home safely that she wouldn't want for no more than what God had given her, and a life devoted only to him.
Jasmine has to go back to L.A because her husband was nominated to represent the Northern Region for president of the American Baptist Coalition.
When they stepped off the plane she went to introduce herself to Pastor Lester Adams who was also nominated to represent the Southern Region, but before she could get to him his wife (Rachel Adams) stepped in front of her to stop her.
They exchange words but Jasmine knew she was going to have her hands full and that she did.
They pulled every trick in the book out against one another but it back fired on them both.

Victoria Christopher Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley are amazing co authors. My eyes stayed glued in this book since the first page. This story shows that some ppl are will to do any and everything to reach the top (well in Jasmine's and Rachel's case) their husband's. They thought they had the game won, however, there was someone who proved that they were the top dog who knew the game very well. Both of these ladies found out that playing dirty will get you hurt and to be careful what you wish for. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books about these two scandalous scoundrels.

While I've read about Lady Jasmine & Rachel's individual scheming ways, it was a joy to read about them going head to head against one another. I can't chose a favorite yet although I did think Rachel was more clever than Jasmine anticipated. Good beginning to collab, looking forward to reading more

Very reminiscent of the old Carl Weber church novels or maybe the Kimberly Lawson Roby ones about Curtis Black. Not really that into these kinds of books anymore. But it was mildly entertaining. Over the top drama as per usual for these kinds of books.

This is not my typical psychological thriller read, so I'm not sure why I had it in my Libby app, but it was a nice break from my norm. Lots of silly church politics to get to the top. It was a fun read.

I listened to this on audiobook. The story was drama-filled and I could not see how it was going to end which was a bonus. I very much dislike being able to figure out how stories are going to end. However, I did have to get past the awful behavior of the two pastors' wives. After finishing, I immediately moved on to the next book in the series.

This was exactly what I expected! These first ladies are a whole cackle! Just when you think it can't get any worse.....it does... more than once. I found myself wondering how wonderful these pastors could be if their wives weren't such menaces....

When I finished this book a couple of months ago, I closed it with a better understanding of why a lot of people don't trust quote-unquote 'church folks.' I've never been to any kind of church convention or conference or anything but I imagine that this book was a pretty fair representation (even if slightly over-dramatized) of what goes on there. The cattiness and underhandedness that went on in this book between the first ladies in the name of promoting their husbands was amazing, especially given that the husbands wanted no part in it. I wasn't familiar with the characters Jasmine Larson or Rachel Adams, as I haven't read the other books they were featured in, and it kind of made me want to read those books as well.
I could drone on and on about the storyline and the plot and the characters and all of that, but I'll make this review something of an anomaly among the others I've written and just say that you will not be disappointed if you read this book. The two authors, Victoria Christopher Murray and ReShonda Tate Billingsley, are excellent and masters at flushing out a story and creating characters that you can picture in your head as your reading. I had a clear image of Hosea Larson, Pastor Griffith...even as I'm writing this, I'm flipping back through the book and actually having to stop myself from getting caught back up in it. This is a book that I will be reading more than once, which is a sign of a good read for me ('cause believe me, I have several books that I will never pick up again unless it's to give them away). I was a tad surprised by how it ended, but almost pleasantly, because it showed great maturity on the part of one of the women that I really didn't see coming. She finally put her husband first, when all throughout the book it seemed like she, along with the other First Lady, were all about their own selfish motives all the while justifying it by saying they were doing it all for their husbands. Never mind that everything they did went against the things their husbands preached about, but I digress.
All in all, read the book. :)

Whether you’re teach Rachel or team Jasmine—whether you’re a Victoria Christopher Murray or ReShonda Tate Billingsley fan, if you love drama, you’ll love this novel.
I happen to be a fan of both authors and Sinners & Saints was a brilliant idea that is well written and well paced. I was excited to see the collaboration of these two authors as they worked their “first-diva-drama” magic.
First lady Jasmine Larson Bush has a tainted background but she is the crème-del-a-crème of first ladies and she is not to be crossed. Her husband, Hosea Bush, is the pastor of a church of over ten thousand members.
Fist lady Rachel Jackson Adams also has a less than savory background, and like First Lady Bush, First Lady Adams will go to any lengths to get what she wants. Her husband, Lester Adams, is the pastor of about three thousand.
The two ladies’ worlds collide when both their husbands are nominated for the leader of the American Baptist Coalition. These two first ladies pull no punches as they try to on-up each other, to ensure that their husband wins the nomination and becomes the leader of one of the largest and powerful religious groups. In addition to making each other’s lives miserable, the two ladies fight to win the approval of the coalition’s current first lady, Cecilia King.
Sinners & Saints had me laughing and shaking my head. In this sad but true tale of how some folk really act in the Christian church; both Murray and Billingsley have remained consistent in bringing their readers true-to-life characters that we can all relate to.
Sinners & Saints is a 2012 must read—Murray and Billingsley, seamlessly, merged the lives of their villains in this excellent tale of mercy and grace—and lots of drama!

‘Michael Jackson said it best…who’s bad…’

Jasmine Larson Bush, wife of Hosea Bush, pastor of City of Lights at Riverside Church, has been nominated as a contender for the head position over the American Baptist Coalition. Rachel Jackson Adams, wife of Lester Adams, pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church has also been nominated for this prestigious position. This nomination is not the only thing these two men of GOD have in common. Their wives are both high strung, opinionated, determined, and are still battling the ways of old in their new saved and sanctified lives. Upon their initial introduction, lines are drawn and the games begin…each antic more devious as the storyline unfolds.

Sinners and Saints is an entertaining tale depicting the competitiveness that delves within the realms of church folk. The church does consist of two main factors: sinners and saints. Manipulation, conniving, vindictive, aggressive, deceit, and lies are all intricate descriptions of the scenarios exhibited in Sinners and Saints. These two authors have masterminded a memorable collaboration that will challenge the reader to accept the humor ‘as is’ and get reeled in with each outrageous scenario. Some may frown upon this over the top portrayal and fail to realize that this is indeed what Ms. Murray stated at her book signing. They are Christians that do indeed write fiction. So if you take it lightly as an enchanting and witty read, you will enjoy each enchanting page. I will say that the authors’ chemistry is commendable and exemplary with their styles of writing complimenting each other. But I feel very confident in my thoughts that I distinguished Victoria’s passionate voice. It really cinched it for me…one very powerful scene. And of course, I’m mos def, beyond a shadow of a doubt, TEAM JASMINE!
