Driftwood

after reading this book, quite frankly I would suggest the author not quit her day job....while the plot was laid out nicely, she just tossed the ending into a bag, shook it up and wrote whatever popped out. I would have liked more involvement as to why Josh supposedly hated her.....also why he felt like he needed to kill her, how Luke felt about the daughter......and perhaps Joshs feeling about finding out he wasn't Luke's son....just far more involvement.....

Once lived

With children you never know what's going to happen. They can grow up into healthy adults and others are not as fortunate. Have you ever thought how it affects the parents? Things happen in life that don't always turn out the way we had hoped. We suffer with changes, forgiveness, and regret; always asking what if.
Driftwood is a great story about two young people that went through this experience. It's a great love story mixed with mystery, suspense and drama. I enjoyed the book, however in my Kindle there were pages missing, but not enough to distort anything.
It's a great read and I hope you enjoy.

Juliet has never gotten over her father leaving, her mother's suicide and her first boyfriend betraying her. Years later Juliet runs into Luke while on a business trip. She is still angry with him and tries to keep her distance. Yet, Luke's son has other plans for Juliet. It's a story caught up in the teen age years, of not fitting in and not able to let go of the past. As much as Luke regrets his past choices, Juliet can't seem to let go of her past using it as a crutch as an adult.

Irritating .... apart from the fact that there was no real explanation or analysis of why the culprit behaved in such a manner, I got to 65% of the way through and found I had hit the end page. I didn't feel I had reached an appropriate end and was t'd off that the final 1 third of the book was dedicated to promoting other books from the author.

A clever, neat story that builds the tension from an ordinary event through to its gripping climax.

Also read Bickley's 'Lives Interrupted" - the realistic consequences of the life changing event of the London bombings and how individual's lives are affected.
