This is a powerful story about a woman, her two children, and several others who survived the sinking of a ship by floating on a small raft. I'm not sure I could have handled it with nearly as much patience or without losing my mind, but I am grateful that she lived to tell about God's provisions during their life-threatening journey.
This is the story of the event that happened 70 years ago today, as told by my grandmother, Ethel Bell. It details the event and the 20 days floating on a raft with my mother, my uncle and 2 other missionary children along with 14 seamen.
After reading this story, we were challenged with the thought, "God's will may make you sad, but it should never make you mad." The ability to survive and thrive even though difficulties come show the closeness one is to Christ.
