When Najika finds out that Sora is her Flan prince, she tries her best to keep trying hard at cooking the best foods ever and tries to be friends with Akane too. Will she succeed and try to get Daichi to be her friend to? Read on and find out for yourself.

I am still enjoying this series and can't wait to see what happens next. Will read more in this series soon.

UWOoooooooooooo~ Plotnya BERKEMBANG!

Speechless.

AND NAJIKA FIRST KISS?! ASDFGHJKL. THAT'S TOO CUTE >///< Dengan segala emosi yang meluap? Wow.

Ceritanya PLOT TWIST banget, lah! Baca deh :">

Review for compelte series.

Reread 2025

Najika was left orphaned but has a passion for baking and cooking. After the loss of her parents, she was so devastated that she wouldn't speak to anyone - that is until she met a boy who gave her comfort and a perfectly delicious treat. With nothing but a special spoon to go on, Najika strives to be an even better cook so that she may one day find the boy and repay his kindness by making him the best desert.

Kitchen Princess has a lot of the less good shoujo cliches and far too many coincidences; Najika is new to an elite school where she is disliked. She stumbles into the good graces of the head master's two sons who form the typical love triangle. There are your usual rivals and bullies and some of the drama feels extremely over the top. However, despite falling into a few common pitfalls, this series also has a lot of heart. I suspect it lies in the main subject of baking and cooking - while I have no special interest in either, it's just the way it's woven into the story that gives it a very wholesome feeling.

Najika is truly passionate about cooking and a lot of it focuses on her philosphy. She believes that making food for others is a way to make them happy, and each incident is indeed Najika finding ways to look out for people's welbeing and making them happy by means of the dishes she makes. The explanations and thoughts that go into these bring a lot of charm to this series which simply makes it stand out despite the otherwise extremely formulaic plot.

The remaining cast is largely likeable. One of my favourites is somewhat surprisingly Akane who starts out as a bully but has great character development throughout the series and ultimately becomes a great friend. The brothers typical roles of the calm and dependable Sora and the more rebelious and at times moody Daichi. As is often the case, Najika naturally gravitates toward Sora but it's just as clear that Daichi is as much a likely romance option. I never really warmed up to Sora so I didn't care much for their interactions and I liked Daichi well enough, but I'd argue that romance isn't what I enjoy most about this series. In any case, things become a little more complicate which puts a bit of a spin on the otherwise typical dynamics between these three. Also a little mention for Fujita, the seemingly lazy chef who lets Najika work in his diner. He seems to have a pretty interesting story even though we only get to see snippets in bonus chapters.

While I can't say that this is going down as a favourite of mine, I can appreciate why it's a popular series and I definintely did enjoy both my original and my reread. It's a cute little extra that each volume as recipes as the end. This is also one of those series where you see quite a leap in the art improvement - I enjoy Ando's art and while the earlier volumes are definitely cute, I really enjoyed the art from around volume 8 onwards.

For some reason I doubt the Flan Prince to be who reveals he is. but even if he was... I knew it and I don't care. The ending chapter (not the special) made me so happy. I do wish there were more instances where we got to go to the brother's home and saw more of their personalities / daily lives. Akane needs to get over herself. Being mean to someone Daichi likes isn't going to do anything for you. I'm happy Najika finally stood up for herself. I'm excited to see the food competition and hopefully, her relationship with Daichi grows.

(stejná recenze u všech dílů první série {to znamená, že nepočítám K. P. Omnibus})

Kresba vypadala moc hezky. Především musím ocenit vzhled a originalitu kulinářských výtvorů.

Dost mě i překvapil věk Najiky vzhledem k tomu, co všechno prožila, a k jejím milostným problémům.

A ta dá!

Kitchen Princess was the first manga I had read back in high school. It was this manga that sparked my interest in baking. I wanted to be like the protagonist (Najika), sharing love with others through baking.

The protagonist, Najika, reminded me much of myself. Despite all the bad experiences I have gone through in my life, I don't want to hate those who have done me wrong before. No matter how much I wanted to give up, time and time again, there were always good people along the way that helped me to get back up.

I can still remember the first thing I tried to bake was a mug cake with oreo frosting on top. I gave it as a gift to my Scouting family, as they were really some of the important people in my life. They have helped in a lot of ways, encouraging me when I am in doubt or being looked down on by others, treating me like a friend/family, and more. And that is why I wanted to be like Najika...sharing love with others through baking. Seeing their smile just warms my heart very much!

A simple act of caring creates an endless ripple.

Le ricette a fine volume le ho AMATE, ottima idea, 10 out of 10.

There was some supernatural shit that was going on in this one, and it was kinda sad and interesting at the same time. The love story is starting to pick up more but I didn't realize when I was checking everything out at the library that I got volumes 1-4 and then 7-10 so I'm missing 5-6 so I need to go back to the library to finish the series. My only hope is that they have the two volumes that I'm missing and I don't have to search online for it because of how much of a hassle online reading can be on mobile for manga.

I rate this 3.5 stars.

I'm not a fan of the cover. No offence, but her outfit looks weird. I'm no fashion expert, heck, I'm not even interested in fashion, but even I can tell that there could have been a better dress she could wear.

I don't believe that Sora's the Flan Prince even though he admitted it, I'm still convinced that it's Daichi, but I'm not sure what reason he would have not to tell her. That would be a twist: one brother admits it but then later on the other one admits that he's actually Najika's Flan Prince. Let's see if I'm right or wrong. It just seems kind of obvious that Daichi would end up with her, but then what about Akane and Sora? Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Finally, Akane isn't b**** anymore. Hopefully it stays that way. I've realized that in many mangas, the main character has a rival and they hate each other, but later on in the story they become best friends or at least good friends. Even though it's become a cliche, I still love it when it happens.
Like: in the Shaman King anime (not sure about the manga, I've only read volume 1 so far), Yoh and Len become best friends; in Pokemon, Ash and Gary become good friends; in Bleach, Ichigo and Uryu (not sure if they're rivals anymore, since I took a break from reading the manga); in Case Closed, Shinichi Kudo becomes best friends with Haiji Hattori (I forgot how to spell his name), to the point that Haiji's one of the few pwople that knows about Shinichi's little secret; another example is, Mermaid Melody; I also heard that in one of the last volumes of Crazy Tokyo Paradise, Tsukasa and Asago become friends. Hopefully it's not too far from what chapter I'm on, Asago's really pissing me off so far, she may be strong physically, but mentally she needs help; etc. Not sure if Sailor Moon would count since I didn't read the manga yet, although in the anime it seemed like Rei and Usagi were kind of like rivals.

Sorry I didn't post the review here a few months ago, I just forgot. I thought I already posted it here, but apparently I didn't.

From now on my manga reviews are spoiler free. So you don't need to worry about reading them.

Finally, Akane isn't b**** anymore. Hopefully it stays that way. It was getting really annoying that Akane kept switching sides, I'm like, make up your mind already. I've realized that in many mangas, the main character has a rival and they hate each other, but later on in the story they become best friends or at least good friends. Even though it's become a cliche, I still love it when it happens.

I was kind of shocked about the last chapter, I didn't expect something paranormal in a contemporary manga, but then again, ghostly stuff does and can appear in contemporaries a few times, especially mangas, but it still felt a bit weird, since this is a contemporary manga.

Overall, I like this manga so far, the main character is really sweet, but she has a bit of a temper as well (she's not just nice), has a few great characters, and it surprises me on what's going to happen next.
Since there are only 10 volumes of this series, and in the preview, Najika was crying, I feel like in a few chapters, something big will happen, or maybe she's just crying over something petty, guess I'll have to just wait and see.
