I liked this book for several reasons. First, as someone in ministry in the 21st century, it is refreshing to hear from a pastor several generations removed and to see that some things don't change. God's word is powerful and that is what the church needs to hear. I also appreciate that Kent is very practical in his book. His suggestions for carrying out the theory of ministry are invaluable. While dated in some regards, this book is a helpful reminder of the basics of pastoral ministry, a reminder I plan to return to in the future.
