There is only one thing in this world that can make you question everything you've ever believed in, make you throw yourself into the face of danger, love. Madeline never thought she would find love so deep that it transcended the physical world and definitely never thought she would find it in a vampire. However, when the body count starts to rise, she begins to question the curiously desirable new interest in her life. Join two immortal lovers as they race against time and sunlight to save a miracle child that was never meant to exist.

I am a married, 33 year old, female, with no children. By trade I am a network engineer with far too many years under my belt. My first book was published in 2010 by Kerlak Publishing, followed by a short story in 2011 through Dreamspinner Press. I don't have any formal training, I simply write what I feel. I have a vivid imagination and love building dream worlds for my readers to escape to.

I recently discovered that I am a hopeless romantic and that usually makes for some very turbulent stories. As most know, love is a mountain and at its peak there's infinite beauty, but it's best appreciated after a difficult climb... that's how I write. The world would be a boring place if we didn't have to fight a little for what we wanted, now wouldn't it.

At first I want to thank the author for the nice communication. Because this book you could only buy in USA at the moment and I’m from Germany it seems a problem for me to get it. But I like to read books of new author and so I connected the author and asked if I could have a book. Of course was the answer and so a few weeks later I get the book with an autograph.
I think fans of Twilight or books from Sherilyn Kenyon (Dark Hunter series) would love this book. Because it is full of romantic interaction between Leo and Elena. Leo is a vampire and fall in love with Elena. He is politely, romantic and handsome. And he wins Elenas heart. But there is a old friend of Leo who is the opposite of Leo. Niklas. He wants to endamage Elena and Leo.
The entire book is written in the first person and is thus subjective. As Elena relates her story from the current perspective, there are always flashbacks and glimpses of the future. Step by step you get more information about the past of Leo and Niklas and why Niklas turn from a good friend into an enemy. The story is very good and you want to know always more and it’s not so easy to lay the book down.
At the moment my focus lay on Urban Fantasy, so more action and magic, less romantic. Because of this it was sometimes too much romantic words for me, but as I mentioned below, I think that fans of Twilight, Dark Hunter or very romantic books would like this one very much.
All in all it was a good first book of this friendly and nice author. I’m sure that the following books will be good, too.

Vampires and Fantasy are not my normal read, but I had heard so much about this book I had to get a copy and read it for myself. I have to admit I am hooked. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Ms. Cassatta had me hooked before I even got through the first chapter and kept me hooked until I finished the book in one sitting. It has been a long time since any book held me like The Immortals did. I have a new favorite author, and look forward to reading more of this saga any other books she writes.

If I could rate the book in sections, I would give the first half a 2 star and the last 4. The first oart with whole journal entry was very annoying. It was slow and didn't really give you a feel for the characters. It just gave you back ground to the place we ended up at the half way mark. Another annoying thing about the book in general (and I don't know if this is an editing thing or the author's style) is the fact that their is no clear deliniation between the characters thoughts, actions, or words. One minute I'm reading one character's point of view and the next line it's anothers and only after a couple of lines do you finally pick up on that fact and have to go back and re-read with the mindset of the new character. I think there should be a space between the differing characts when changing perspectives to let the reader know.

I was quite impressed with the ending, depressed but impressed. Rarely, does an author in these types of books, have such an ending for the main characters. Usually everyone lives happily everafter and the bad guy loses.

Outstanding!

Ms Cassatta does not follow any formula other than her own in her writing, certainly not boy-meets-girl, obstacles are overcome, an HEA ties it all together at the end. In fact, the ending was not what I expected but it was satisfying. If vampires mean teenaged hormones and angst to you then you need to read IMMORTAL to get a fuller picture of the genre. While IMMORTAL has love, family, and a measure of happiness for the characters, it is a dark tale that doesn’t wrap up neatly. Beautifully written, a well-developed cast of characters, and a plot that requires the reader to face the unexpected, IMMORTAL should become the classic story of this paranormal category.

This is a solid book, with great characters that are believably real. Ms. Cassatta is a strong writer and keeps you engaged in her story. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
Beautifully descriptive and carefully constructed, this book will slowly lure you into the world and characters within. I don't want to tell to much but its a must read...again for me.

A superb book. Beautifully written.
This book is easy enough to read to capture my imagination, and also has enough depth to it to keep my attention.
Unlike any book I have read recently and is definitely on my recommendations list.
So glad to find that it wasn't the typical high school girl meets vampire and falls in love story.

I love how Allison Cassatta builds the entire scene before she starts telling you the story. She begins with "Caramel colored curls" and takes you through the clothes, the room, the feeling surrounding the "scene" and it draws you into the place physically...I got lost in the story and felt kindred to the characters. It was an amazing read and I am DYING for the next installment on the series...

This book was fabulous from start to finish! I absolutely loved how Allison brought her characters to life, it was like I was there, very few authors have accomplished this for me. I am proud to add Allison Cassatta to my "Have to Read" list of authors. Can't wait until her next book comes out!!
