Faith on the Line #6

Protecting Holly

Rate this book
Spending Christmas Eve with her handsome boss in a cabin while a stalker threatens is not the way Holly Vance had planned to celebrate this year - she'd been counting on dinner with her extended family.

But being trapped with Jake Montgomery, the FBI's local computer expert, isn't a hardship - she's secretly loved him from the day they met. Still, Jake's overwhelming quest to uncover the connection between tycoon Alistair Barclay, the Diablo crime syndicate and drug cartel La Mano Oscura is overshadowing the joy of the season.

Can the most miraculous time of the year turn the cynical crime fighter into a caring Christian man?

I read this year's ago and the plot line stuck with me. Found it and re read it. Not as suspenseful as I remember. Wish the story was longer with more character development of the relationship with Holly and Jake.
The large family of related characters sounds sweet but don't interact well in the story. A major federal crime prosecution is not going to have married parties investigating etc.
But it's cute, sweet and has a happy ending.

It was fairly good.
Though, I prefer more of the romance-suspense thing.
But what I really love about the books offered by Love Inspired is that, God is the center of it all.

Keep it up and God bless.

This is the 1st book I read by Lynn Bulock. I'm sorry I stopped reading this story at 17% because I thought this story was going to continue where PETER'S RETURN ended. I'm happy 😊 I read this whole Faith On The Line series in remembrance of my aunt.

Last book in the Faith on the Line series but the Faith at the Crossroads series continues on with the same characters.

Jake Montgomery was always seen around town with the rich and model type women. He works at the FBI as the computer guy.

Holly Vance is Jake's assistant and he knows he could not have a better person at work to depend on but after they spend a week at her brothers cabin on his ranch, Jake see's she is more then what he thought.

Holly has a past that makes her "gun shy". Although she always felt she was in love with Jake and had to watch him with all his dates or in the society pages with some fancy lady on his arm, when it comes down to facing truly loving him, it scares her.

This puts together the previous 5 books well. It contains a conviction, some weddings, a stalking and kidnapping among other things.

ok, this book DID tie up SOME of the loose ends, all the while adding a new twist to things. BUT ...

i was disappointed in it at the same time. there are still TWO portions of the mystery plot, and ones that in MY opinion are MAJOR ones, that did NOT get answered. and since this was apparently the last book in the series ...

to be left hanging in limbo was NOT nice!!!

i WILL read other mysteries by this author, BUT, will be hesitant to do so if, once again, she's writing the last book of a joint series.
