This book reveals the intelligence, grace, and passion of Dame Janet Baker. It's an intriguing inside look into the final year of her operatic career and a beautiful commentary on life and the artist's journey. She writes eloquently about all the important subjects in life and in the craft of opera. A must-read for all artists, especially singers.

Janet Baker showed her vulnerability and relationship with the stage in this fabulous journal/memoir. I deeply enjoyed it, and found it among the best of the diva autobiographies.
