While most of the machines featured in this photographic book are diggers, some aren't-- excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, fork lifts, skid steer loaders, pavers, graders, tunnelers. The text is written at about a 2nd-3rd grade level, with lots of high interest short feature paragraphs that make it somewhat frustrating for a parent reading out loud-- but the construction-truck crazed preschooler loves it. There is a flow to the descriptions that is lacking in similar book we got from one of the preschool book orders (will update this review with the title when I find it) that covers the same ground. I expect to get tired of reading this out loud to my four-year-old, but it won't be too bad...
