Action and suspense starts this book off right away. It's a quick read with good characters.

Enjoyed the action and suspense but don’t understand why these books have sexual encounters that add nothing to the story. Having “sexual tension” between the characters is fine but the details aren’t necessary or believable with a day or two of them knowing each other. Major *eye roll*

Castillo schwächstes Buch. Ein Agententhriller, der äußerst unwahrscheinlich klingt und einfach nur reisserisch herüberkommt.

This is a reprint of an early work by Linda Castillo. Her newer books about Kate Burkholder are excellent and very well-written, but here I think she was still learning her craft. The writing is not great and the plotting is lacking. Emily is a prison guard with lots of suspicions and Zack is an undercover inmate. They are thrown together during a prison crisis that causes them to work together and to try to trust each other. The sexual tension is almost laughable, forced and unnatural. I cannot recommend this early work, but I can recommend the later Burkholder books.

This is a action packed book!! I really enjoyed the plot. This story takes place in and out of a prison which is a vile place. A CIA agent undercover breaks out of the prison and takes a guard as hostage.
I recommend this book!

Plot was good, romance was good. I could visualize the story. Just a little too many wounds I think. He was shot twice in the stomach.

Zack Devlin, an undercover CIA agent takes corrections officer Emily Monroe as his hostage to escape with his life and hers. The evidence stacks up to someone on the inside of the facility experimenting on the inmates with an experimental drug called RZ-902. Many of the inmates have disappeared and died for no known reason or cause. Zack goes undercover as an in mate and a leak on the outside soon leads him on the experimental list. Therefore he takes Emily hostage and tries to take out the bad guys, escape and save not only his life but also Emily's.

Finished this last night. I really had fun with this one. The action was nonstop and the story didn't really revolve on the love scenes.

Das Buch ist eigentlich ganz gut geschrieben. Nur war es leider nicht so ganz die Thematik die mich interessiert und es war auch zu sehr Lady-Thriller für mich.

It was a quick read, probably cause it was filled with so much suspense and continuous action you don't want to put it down. If you like the Intrigue genre you'll like this book ;)
