A pseudonym used by C.F. Bentley. Also known as Irene Radford.

P.R. Frost resides on beautiful Mt. Hood in Oregon. She hikes the Columbia River Gorge for inspiration. She is an omnivorous reader having taught herself to read before entering kindergarten. Her sister claims this was so she wouldn’t have to wait to learn how to write so she could begin penning her stories. At Science Fiction/Fantasy Convention she can be found hanging out with filkers and costumers.

Like her fictional character Tess, P.R. learned to tat (la Frivolité) with her grandmother’s shuttle. Unlike Tess, she also enjoys bobbin lace, knitting and crocheting, periodically indulging in a binge of fisherman knit sweaters.

P.R.’s musical tastes are as omnivorous as her reading ranging from classical to Celtic to new age to jazz, and of course filk.

Join P. R. on her blog and share her latest hiking adventures, progress reports on her books and gushes over wildflowers

I LOVED the first 3 books and I was left with WTF? with this one. I felt that I had missed something with this plot. Specifically, why all the kid adoptions all of a sudden? If Frost did indeed mean to end this character or this series, I can think of several different ways to do so other than this. Really weak and too neat and tidy compared to the other books.

I keep hoping that P.R. Frost will get better with her next book. I keep hoping that she will get over the tendency to write Mary Sue, and will learn to focus her writing. I keep hoping that she will not write tangentially, and will keep the story focused on what's happening, not randomly visit some past even that has no bearing on the current story, and then get sidetracked into another event, then another...

I keep hoping.

Not sure if this is a three or a four star, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Just finished this book a few minutes ago so maybe I am still processing the end. What is tripping me up and that I think this is the final Tess Noncoire offering and I can't decide if I'm OK with that or not. There were new characters introduced in this one, so I think I'd like to see where the paths lead after the ending of this story. Lots of familiar characters reappear in an enjoyable way. More cons, more filk. Halfway through the book I wanted to see more of these stories in this world with these characters. But now that I'm finished, I'm not sure I do or need to. PR Frost wrapped up many loose ends, finding happy ones for most, but still some unanswered questions about character relationships that I would like to have been explained. Loose ends tied up but not necessarily happy warm and fuzzy stuff, just like OK they went on with their lives. Felt like maybe it sort of ran out of steam at the end. Maybe it's just me...

Loved the amazing ending. The journey with Tess, Scrap and the others was really fun. I'm sad to have to let them go, but well. Off to the next book in my list!!

Celestial Blade Warrior, Tess and, her imp, Scrap, psychically linked as they are, have been going through some emotional turmoil. Both were injured while trying to take down of a forest demon that has been violating women for some time and taking the resulting offspring to raise as his own tribe. Tess has been in mourning of a broken heart for the past year and a half with the loss of her true love, Gollum, her aide and archivist, after he returns to the needs of his mentally unstable wife. The depression has been weighing her down, affecting her writing career and her life as a Celestial Blade Warrior.
Another old flame, Donovan Estevez, half demon, returns to complicate her li fe even more with his proposals of marriage and hidden agendas.
The curveballs that Life is throwing at Tess, in the form of women and children in need of help, finally knock some sense into her and she is on the path of kicking some demon buttocks.
I had a hard time getting into the story until I combed through the first few chapters, got used to the rhythm of the story telling and all of the characters. I read the first in the series, HOUNDING THE MOON, a few years ago and fell for Tess and Scrap pretty much immediately. Tess, once she regains control of her life, is a strong, independent, and compassionate woman. Her imp, Scrap, is the perfect foil for Tess’ serious nature.
There have been two books in between and I lost some of the feel for the characters at the beginning of this, the fourth adventure.
Once I found my sword and sorcery footing, I was just fine and the story flowed most excellently. I added books 2 and 3, MOON IN THE MIRROR and FAERY MOON, to the WWBL, and cannot wait to catch what I missed in between adventures 1 and 4 and can't wait to read adventure 5 whenever that comes out.
Take a look at P R Frost's page on Fantastic Fiction and see the neat pic of what looks like a wee imp on her shoulder.http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/f/p...

I finished on October 28, 2015. The reason it takes me so long to read books is I read them when I get in bed and I am about to go to sleep. Reading puts me to sleep but I actually do retain memories of the books that I read.

I thought this book was creepy and entertaining. Perfect for the fall and Halloween. I am not sure yet if I want to go back and read the books that preceded this one. This is the most recent in the Tess Noncoire series but I'm not sure I want to get to know the characters better. I love the fact that this book takes place in Portland. I really like Portland and when I read this book I was momentarily transported there. I think P.R. Frost has an engaging and entertaining writing style but I think you need to be a bit of a fantasy and/or Sci-Fi fan to read her stuff.

May try another one of her books. The jury is still out.

Reads like the end of the series, which is too bad. But at least a satisfying end. Still, I wish Ms Bradford would take up her pen to begin a new phase in the storyline. So many possibilities.
