I truly enjoy historical fiction. This book is deliciously hot. Although its force seduction, the author handles it well. This is a quick read. The author doesn't add unnecessary dramas and the plot is solid. Overall I loved it.

I truly enjoy erotic historical romances. Especially when the love scenes make you wanna swap places with the heroine. They are nice and long with what felt like pages of foreplay. That makes for great erotica.
Arabella was gambled away by her stepfather in a poker match to the Earl of Lee. The Earl of Lee is mortified when he wins Arabella. He has no need for the beautiful young girl and intends to leave her with her owner until he realizes that her safety is in danger. It isn't long before a sex starved Darth starts to consider all the perverted possibilities that comes with owning Arabella.
I am a lover of forced seduction, and this book has plenty. This book gets a 5 star for its smut factor and the plot was pretty good too. I only wished there had been a little more info at the end to tidy up the story. I will be reading more of Shirl Anders' Erotic Regency romances because her love scenes are smoking hot!

I am kind of at a loss on how to rate this book, because it was a very cute book, but not at all what I was expecting.
For anyone who thought that being kidnapped by a guy named Darth would be a gritty and rapey experience, you should be forewarned that he is pretty much the nicest kidnapper in the world. I feel like he didn't really seriously entertain the idea of actually keeping Arabella as a slave for more than a couple hours. He is also the only man in the world who rapes a chick by going down on her. I mean, it was hot, but I wanted to tell him "you're doing it wrong!" If you are going to be kidnapped, be lucky that you end up with this guy, and not say the guy from Owned and Owner or The Wolf and the Dove. What can I say, I am a super huge fan of kidnapped heroine books and this one didn't really do it for me. She got tied up for like 10 minutes, spanked once, and pretty much the meanest thing that happened was that she was forced to wear a frilly nightgown.
Anyways, Arabella was also kind of TSTL in parts for me, and if she had just let him know what was going on this book would have been like 3 pages long, and it is already really short! It should also go without saying that the historical authenticity of this book makes Julia Quinn look like a dry academic of the regency era.
Also, this book has an assload of hilarious previews at the end- I got a huge kick out of reading some of them out loud to my husband. On the Nook edition I have, nearly the last 30 pages is previews- I thought that was kind of a lot for a book of this length.

This should have been full-length novel to make it more enjoyable because the ending seemed rushed and you don't get time to connect with the characters. Nevertheless, the story was steamy enough to keep you engaged! plus it offers more than you normally expect from a novella.

Kind of fluffy for a heroine won in a bet/forced into slavery novella. Could have been good in a kinky sort of way, but it ended up being pretty corny.
I really want something that seriously pushes the envelope, but doesn't tread into hardcore bdsm. Seems like so many of the ones I pick up when I get a craving for kink are either torture-porn or wannabe bdsm lite with maybe one small scene and instaluv on both parties part. I want a HEA, but I want there to be angst along the way.
Caroline Faulkner is one of the few writers in the genre that seems to have some depth to her characters and stories, but she's often too harsh for me and her age-play novels aren't my cuppa.

This was actually a good book for me personally. The story draws you in immediately from the beginning and flowed right through no extra unnecessary words or chapters sometimes authors do that to full a book example I detest when the main characters don't meet until the seventh chapter things like that . Arabella and Darth's chemistry was good. Arabella was won in a game of cards by her stepfather and given to Darth, Darth is a good guy even though he has his own demons to fight. This is a quick read and has some erotic sex not hardcore but still good. So if you like the captive, do what I say even though I have feelings for you with a touch of erotic sex then this is for you.

I really enjoyed this novella. Ms. Anders is quite bold in the writing of her erotica and human weakness. Darth and Arabella did not begin their love story in a traditional sense. He won her in a card game. He decided to keep her as his love slave because he is scared and had not had the company of a woman for 10 years. He was depraved with her initially but he came around. It was tough reading his struggle and her fear. They deserved their HEA. I would actually love to read more about these characters going forward if this was a series. There were some typos and a few gramatical issues but nothing at the 'deal breaker' level. I highly recommend this short read to anyone that enjoys Regency romance with expressive erotic content.

Well this one I started late last night and thought "I'll read for a half hour then go to sleep"... Well it was about 3:30am before I forced myself to put the book down. Then I was up at 8am finishing it!! It would have easily been a 5 star read had it not had such an abrupt ending. This was chalk full of great sex (I am not even kidding, this was HOT!), and a good story. The perfect erotic romance for me :)
Just a minimal warning, there are definitely some situations in this book that might pose a problem for some... The whole ownership, sex slave and forced seduction might be an issue. My personal opinion is this is a typical bodice ripper and not offensive at all.
I would highly recommend this to all historical romance fans, especially the fan of the bodice ripper!!

Oh my, where do I start. Nympho gets gambled away by stepfather to a guy who hasn't had sex in the last 10 years. Within a month, stepfather is punished, her little brother is rescued from stepfather, they have sex and marry. There's not much to write about, actually. But the writing is so damn hilarious that all you can do is read on, just to see whether it gets funnier.

Good story, but was kind of rushed. Also, in my edition, there are a lot of mistakes regarding the correct use of commas - sometimes it was missing, sometimes it wasn't needed, sometimes it was one word away from the correct position.

Shirl Anders is a new author for me. Her style is erotica and so one must expect sex scenes that are intense and graphic (language and description might be disturbing to some). But in this book one can also expect a love story(Beauty and the Beast trope). A beautiful, innocent heroine is sold off by her stepfather in a card game to a man who is scarred externally and internally but is noble and good. The attraction was there. I appreciate that it is not all about sex for the sake of sex. I did like that the heroine had a skill for healing. She also healed the hero from the emotional and mental and physical effects of the scar. Not much of character development in terms of introducing the hero and heroine and their past. The development focused more on their journey to love and HEA and how they finally opened up and trusted each other.

One major drawback this book has is it’s length. It’s just feels rushed. Wish the book was longer, that there was more time spent in building the characters and the surroundings.

Bravery, insecurity, longing, protection, with unexpected LOVE!

Not good enough even for weekend light reading, hasty, amaterish writting without at least some depth to characters. Waste of time, there is a lot of better short stories with similar plot to enjoy.

Hmm.. kesannya jahat banget yah.. Bad Hero !!

Sebenernya si hero ini baik, cuma karena nggak pede dengan dirinya dan kecantikan si heroin, jadinya posesif dan kasar banget.
Overall, suka dengan ceritanya dan nggak perlu waktu lama buat membacanya. Oia, tambahan.. Covernya omg sexy abeesss...

I have not read any books by this author prior to this book, but after seeing so many great reviews by readers I decided to pick it up. That being said there were some very negative reviews about this book too. This story to me actually faired somewhere in the middle. It wasn't "awesome" but it wasn't horrible. It was a very enjoyable read, but it did not put this author on my must read list.
This story was a kind of Beauty And The Beast minus the loving father. It was as much about owning Arabella as it was about taming Darth and generally I love those kinds of stories. The author did a pretty good job of making you feel a connection between the two characters so that you almost can ignore the short time frame, but the narration is a little too drawn at time for my taste and slowed down the story some.
If you're looking for a regency romance with purple prose, this is not that story. This book is very steamy, very graphic, more along the lines of an erotica romance.

OH MY GOD! This is one very-short-HOT novel I've never read in my entire life! OH MY GOD! I love Darth and Arabella! And I'm glad that is very straight to the point! I've read novels in like 300+ pages with too many characters and with a very weak plot but this astounds them all! Very detailed OH MY GOSH!! I LOVE THIS!
