Arc reader (plot points mentioned below, possible spoilers warning)
I am so glad to have finished this before it's published, I have ignored my last school final in a desperate quest to finish this before midnight, aND I AM SOBBING ARLETA
I don’t even know where to begin, I just knew you were going to kill Mica, I fucking called it as soon as I grew fond of him I was like ah shit he's next. I can't believe you. That was evil, letting continual hope come back before taking him down again. I even thought for a second near the end that maybe he won't die because Coles death was so unexpected and major, but no, Mica must die. Pure evil.
I am so interested in the backstory of Morwen, Cole, and Thea, in their past lives and connection with each other. I also am interested in how Mica and Theas past went, I had a feeling that once Mica refused to explain further that Thea was possibly his past love and ugh the confirmation hurt, especially with Alec and the promise. I hope for a side story of sorts as a look into how Morwen and past iteration of Thea went from true love into something so poisoned and how Cole had a part in all of this.
Isaiah was a surprise for me, I didn't count on really liking his character, I honestly forgot about him for a bit. I am soooo interested in the vampire hunters and the fact they have powers?? I really liked Isaiah, I like his weird truces he seems to keep creating between his sworn enemies (makes me miss Armaund). His arm, though! Oh my god, having an arm just ripped off Jesus christ.
Sarah and Amelia, Sarah will never stop frusterating me. She continuously acts upon what she thinks is the right path, but it's often times her trying to go alone and sacrifice herself, and it never ends up well. I don't know how she hasn't learned from previous attempts as such have not worked out and has continously lost lives in the process, overall she stresses me the fuck out. Amelia has grown on me. I never disliked her. She was just very in the background. I think she supports and works together with Sarah so well. They're a pair that strengthen and compliment each other. When she was practically dead, I was shocked, I was devasted for Sarah. I love the control she can have as a werevampire in protecting her loved ones from the bloodlust.
I can't forget about Thea, she has gone through so much, I hope she can get the freedom she so desperately deserves. She has experienced too much loss, I hope Thea, Cole, and Helios can live happily ever after in the woods. Thea is so incredibly powerful, I don't disagree with many of the deals she went forward in maker for the better (except that last one, accepting the contract for the ritual then finding out about the actual rituals content like damn girl bad timing for sure.), I too would have made that deal with the God of Death in that senario I mourn Vitamor for her, Vitamor was loved.
Lastly, Oba and Alec, I love them dearly, they were such lovable background characters. The friendship between Oba, Mica, Alec, and Cole have a special place in my heart. How they experienced such evil for years, and were separated for so long, to come together so strong, I love them.
I am very thankful to Arleta for sending me the arc, I really appreciate the chance to read your book early. Thank you, I was so beyond grateful to have been given this chance. I can't wait to buy the physical book and have it signed to add to my collection (I have so many bookmarks to tab).
If this is a ramble that makes no sense, it's because I'm writing this through tears
I have been waiting anxiously for the ending of this series, and it did not disappoint. I am in love with the intensity with which the reader is caught up in the story from page 1! I have loved getting to know Thea, and I cannot wait to revisit this story again and again. Beautiful done!
『The huskiness in his voice threatens to melt my body into a puddle. I’ve missed him. I knew I did, but I didn’t know just how much.』
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 *ARC review* I have forgotten how the previous part ended, so this one started with emotional damage. So straight to the battle and pain (yay).
Kinda chaotic in a way that previous books were more slow paced with a lot of unknowns and full of moments when Thea tried to understand her place and her destiny, in this part we are finally getting answers to all questions, we find the truth about our past and why the King is so determined to destroy us. This book is a conclusion of everything we learned about conflict, about relationships between different clans and fractions, about long awaited battle.
I loved the way the story ended and how it was written. While reading this series i couldn’t shake the feeling that the story is just ideal to be a tv show, cause we have interesting characters, intriguing plot and just vibes of vampire series from 2010-s (and as a fan of this kind of stories, i would gladly watch more). Bit even without Tv adaptation, I enjoyed this book and Thea’s struggles with finding her magic, her strength and love. So nice.
Many thanks to Arleta Rae for the copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the whole series, start to finish, Ancient Flame though, is my favorite!!!
The back story coming together, that blew me away, I didn’t see that coming! Thea and Morwen having been lovers in past lives and the dying and coming back to do it all over again! WOW, that was a hidden gem!!
The character building and the plot twists. The multiple key characters all of which Arleta built up their characters and made them come to life on the pages left me feeling like i was in the scenes with them!!
The fight scenes were akin to SJM fight scenes!! Never stopping going from one fight into the next. All the players not only battling good vs evil but she let us see their own internal battles and each character’s personal reason for engaging with their enemies. I was breathless, anxious, sad, and feeling triumphant , as all of the fight scenes unfolded.
Mica hurt, I cried with Thea, I had a love hate relationship with him, in the end though he did the right thing knowing it was going to cost him his life!!
Vitamors death brought me to tears. I never saw that coming, swords live on!! They aren’t supposed to die!!
I will be waiting impatiently for the arrival of Prequels to my beloved characters!!!
Thank you ArletaRae for allowing us to be a part of your fantasy world!!! Can’t wait for more!!

What a fantastic ending to this trilogy. I think Ancient Flame is easily my favorite of the series. It was more fast paced compared to the first two which had a more slow burn feel to them but were equally as good!
I loved the multiple POV’s and how each character really developed throughout this entire series; especially during this final installment.
10/10 will recommend this series!
I’m definitely excited to see what else Arleta Rae has to offer in the future!
Thank you for the opportunity to read this as an ARC!
Most of the time it's hard for me to get into fantasy books, but never once with this series. I came into this series when you were getting ready to release your second book, and I've loved every minute of it. Not only did you bring your main characters to life but also your side characters, which made me want to read more about them. I can't wait to see what else you write in the future.
Such a satisfying end to a series. As vile as the villain is, you still can’t help but feel sorry for them at the same time.
While the storyline is wrapped up nicely, you still find yourself wanting more. There’s room in this world for side stories with the werewolves, a Mica prequel… plenty of further stories to be told.
