Beginners Guide to Knitting on a Loom is a book perfect for anyone who'd like to 'mix things up' and use a loom for their knitting. There's a loom-knitting manual to get you started and more then 30 no-needle, quick and easy patterns for sweaters and accessories, including some projects to felt as well! A great book to get you started into loom-knitting.
Excellent book to get a beginner on track. Good pictures and mostly pretty or functional patterns that don't seem too dated. A few quirks made it a bit annoying... It would explain something like casting off then later on a chapter or two later it would explain other ways to cast off. It made using it as a resource later on more annoying, as I kept having to flip back and forth to decide what I should be doing. It also assumes that you're using a certain kind of loom and if you're not, you can feel initially confused. That being said, it seems comprehensive otherwise and I'm quite thankful for the information it provides.
Picked this up to try and get into the loom knitting since I received the looms and just haven't taught myself to knit (really knit, not on a loom) yet. This book is great for beginners and I enjoyed the pictorial representation of the stitch Phelps was discussing. Nice variety of patterns, too, though I just took the stitches and made my own patterns from there. This will be a great reference for the times when I've put the loom down for months and need a quick refresher on how to knit. One downside to the pictures, though was that she doesn't show the end result (I would prefer she show the stitch, how to do it, and then what several rows of that stitch pattern look like). That's just my personal preference, though.
