A new author with this book. This was a murder mystery with a little romance added. I kept thinking that I'd read this before as the storyline seemed fulmur. Written to include a lot of descriptions especially at the start, it kinda didn't get connected with the characters (a little too much details). This has a cliffhanger ending which is one of my pet dislikes.
A dramatic start to the book with a murder. And the story unravels from there knowing who the killers identities are.

Detective Eric goes to a bar to have a drink but meets a mystery lady gets his attention. A hot night together and they'd never see each other again... famous last words..

Rebecca (Beccs) was trying to look after her sister but with the help of rehab. Mystery items are being sent to her with Rebecca can't explain why.

Seeing her from afar Eric was mesmerized, taken in by her beauty and beautiful eyes, he looked for her, to be taken aback by her sun kissed hair and sweet voice. She asks him for coffee they talk generalities and go their separate ways, to meet back on the same floor together same motel. A night filled with passion and romance and heated moments leaves the two strangers in thoughts of each other. No names, no identity just a blessed night that neither will forget.

Eric Stiles is a police officer, hard working trying to crack a case of a murderer, Rebecca Gailin his next case. They meet again and Eric realizes that this mysterious woman is his brother’s girlfriend, he must stay clear but his heart and body tells him differently. Rebecca can’t stop thinking about Eric, there worlds collide on a whirlwind of events. Rebecca is being stalked by a killer and Eric is her knight in shining amour. Will his loyalty to his brother block his focus, will he peruse Rebecca’s as his heart desires, his macho man exterior has gone to butter and he finds himself drawn to her but he must stay away - but does he?
Rebecca is haunted in so many ways by this serial killer, no one knows why, and every turn he seems to have been there.

I must say this is the first book I have read in Amy's series and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just the right amount of romance to equal the thrills and roller coaster ride. I was on the edge of my seat, reading swiftly to just find out what was next. The thrills and suspense was fantastic, the romance very real and electrifying. These parts I found very realistic. The storyline flowed smoothly, giving the reader that right amount of smexy, sexy stuff, and of course the suspense was riveting. I was so intrigued with this book I read it from beginning to end in one sitting and delved into book 2 the same day.
Amy has created a realistic world, of love, hate, and life. Experiences we all go through in life I am sure. The characters created were realistic ... Eric's character is torn between his loyalty to his brother and his magnetic connection to Rebecca - is she the one? Rebecca’s plays the damsel in distress, but by all means she is a strong character but one can only take so much. I enjoyed her character, honest, and strong, yet also self dependant and very caring. A romantic thriller I would defiantly recommend to all.

Amy Romine is a new author, Serenity Lost, a romantic suspense,is apparently her first release. to me this was surprising. I usually do not find myself so distracted with a new author however I was with this. I am not sure what it is about the story. The twist on an old stand by, the love triangle.

I guess the difference (without giving too much away) is the melding of the two genres creating cause and effect within both plot lines. The characters are entertaining however flawed and relatable. The suspense is at times chilling and creepy. This is the first of a three book trilogy and while it is given four flames (for intense sexuality)Serenity Lost is refreshingly more story than sex.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and am looking forward to the rest of the series.

Serenity Lost is an astoundingly compelling read. The redheaded Rebecca, a confident, professional sexpot at the beginning of the story, is cut down by family problems and the increasingly sinister psychological attacks of a mystery stalker. Combined with her conflicted emotions for two men, the caring, compassionate Charlie and the hesitant detective Eric, these elements come together to make a real impact.

I really enjoyed the swirl of circumstances around Rebecca. Her downward spiral is absolutely riveting, and the details of her life make her character believable.

At the moment, I wish that Ben, and especially Charlie, were more fleshed out, which may come in the sequel. They seem at times to be cookie-cutter idealized men. But really, wouldn't the world be a better place if men were like that?

I loved this, beginning to end, I read the first and couldn't wait until the second, thought I was going to have an brain bleed waiting for the third! the first book Serenity sets up a strong foundation. The relationships are realistic and yet romantic. The struggled (not to give anything away) are heart felt and I truly ripped apart at their pain. A strong heroine that I can say I am proud of, she takes her punches, now if only there were someone to hold her. She doesn't need protection, she needs warmth and solace from the nightmare. Wow, I should do this for a living! LOVED IT! READ IT NOW, Mr Romine will gain popularity fast I guarantee it!

Serenity Lost, where to begin...
First I'd like to say the author Amy Romine, is without a doubt a very talented lady. I don't want to ruin the story so I refuse to give a detailed account of what I read. But I will say, this thriller was well written, the plot meticulously thought out and the characters extremely likeable. The chemistry between the two leads is hot - the sex even hotter and their relationship does transition following the flow of the story. The evil presence and back story add depth, and force the reader to wonder what's really going on. Trust me, much more lies just under the surface. A perfectly executed read!

Thanks to the author for allowing me to read and review her book. Pleasantly surprised to be contacted to read this book, and I wasn't disappointed. The story is well written but not contained in one book. The story premise was good if you like suspense and stalkers. I agreed to read it because the cover was hot, and the synopsis looked good. I read it straight through in one sitting, and found the character development to be good. It lacked romance, which I was hoping something would happen between Eric and Rebecca, maybe it will be in the next book. Overall entertainment was four stars. Thanks so much for a good read.

Serentity Lost, ( Trust Me 1 ), Amy Romine.

Review from jeannie zelos book reviews

When Amy asked if I'd like to review this book I hadn't realised it wasn't a stand alone, but part of a trilogy. It ends on a huge cliffhanger too – and as you know if you read my reviews I just HATE those...but thankfully all parts of the story are now out so can be read without interruption.
If I'd known it was a part book I'd have understood better why some parts of the book were taking so long to get drawn into the story. It's a slow start, but now I realise it's more than one book I can understand and appreciate better how Amy has solidified the characters by taking time to get them right in our minds.
The first meeting between Eric and Rebecca was scorching, really hot, but from then on the sex takes a back seat to the thriller element of the story. Rebecca has gained a stalker – one that's gone from bouquets of flowers to some bloody, gruesome and threatening presents. She finally has to get the police in, and that's when she discovers that her boyfriend Charlie's policeman brother Eric is the man she had the hot, ravishing, sensual sexy interlude with – anonymous has now become known!! She can't tell Charlie – she wasn't going out with him then, but it would still be awkward...Add on to that the fact she's hiding a secret which her friends think the police need to know, but she wants to keep hidden. Drama all round from the scary stalker, the secrets and the boyfriend/brother conundrum. There's still a real pull of sensusality between her and Eric, something sadly lacking with Charlie. Before this all came to a head she was about to break it off with him, now what should she do?

It's a while since I've read a thriller – for several years they were my mainstay reading, but recently it's been fantasy and romance. This has romance – though I suspect the heat from it is still to come. I like the way thrillers let the reader puzzle out who and what is going on. Amy slides clues in subltely, and I'd forgotten a couple of things I'd read earlier until they were expanded, and I saw how they wove into the story. I liked Rebecca but at times I found her actions frustrating. Eric – well, we don't really get to know his personality yet, but what we've seen he's Mr Hot in bed and also a genuine, likeable person. Charlei seems a bit of a Mr Nice Guy – the sort you want as a good friend not a lover....and then there's Rebecca's friends. They are moslty in the background but I wonder if they'll play a larger part as the story grows?

As I said I hate cliffhangers – in fact hate the recent trend to spilt books into parts. I like to read the whole story while its fresh in my mind, but thankfully this novel is now complete so that can be done, rather than waiting months – years even- as I have for others.
Stars: Four, a good solid read.

When Eric went to Dallas for a wedding, he never expected to meet someone who would rock his world and make him feel things he's never felt before. It's all due to the perky red headed lady who's eyes shine bright like the stars. The first time they meet, it's a wild and fun ride that leaves Nick with the best memories of his life. Now, he must go home and go back to his real job at the police station.
Rebecca didn't mean to meet a total stranger and feel the way she feels about him. She misses him and thinks about him constantly, even when she's with her friend Charlie, who wants to give her the entire world. Rebecca's world is turned upside down by someone from her past, when she starts receiving little gifts from an admirer. At first it was flowers, now it's dead bodies, blood, and so much more. Charlie talks her into telling the police, and she comes face to face with the stranger from Dallas. Even better, he turns out to be Charlie's brother. As the story goes on, Rebecca tries to fight her feelings for Eric, and at the same time, Eric tries to not be around her. When the “secret admirer” hits close to home, Eric will stop at nothing to keep Rebecca safe. Will Rebecca figure out her true feelings for Eric? Will the “secret admirer” stop stalking her? Just how far is the “secret admirer” willing to go?

This book is perfect for those who like a good love mystery. It has the perfect balance of love, gore, and erotica.

A one night stand, unforgettable by itself, turns into a problem as Rebecca new boyfriend introduces her to his brother Detective Eric Stiles. Little did she know that amazing night with a stranger would come back to haunt her. The emotions he stirs in her are hard to control, but Rebecca knows her life is too complicated to deal with this.

You see, she is being stalked by what appears to be a killer. Is her life in danger? That is what she needs to find out and fast. She is in denial, but her friends will not let her ignore what is painfully clear... this stalker means business.

This is an erotic romance thriller. It contains one of the most sensually erotic love scenes I have ever read. Is it hot in here? *fans herself* Eric is a passionate lover absolutely lost in the emotions this beautiful woman elicits from him. From the moment their eyes met at the bar, the stirrings within him became uncontrollable. He knew he must have her. Now, after finding out she is his brother's new girlfriend, he cannot get her out of his mind, while he must keep his distance from her.

This story moves fast. It does end in a suspenseful cliffhanger. The stalker is escalating and Rebecca is not safe.

Loved this book! Read it last night in one sitting because I needed to find out what happened next. You will not be able to put it down!

This is a well written skillfully plotted romantic suspense. You are literally on the edge of your seat wondering what this psycho is going to do next. And while dealing with trying to stay sane she has a love situation that needs to be handled. Amy Romine tells a story that sucks you in until you feel like you are right there with the characters going through the terror, fear, horror and lust with them. She writes a love scene that set my Kindle on fire...and not because it's a Kindle Fire, lol. If you enjoy murder mysteries it's here...if you like hot love scenes it's here but be prepared for the cliff hanger...at least all parts of the story has been written. You will want to know what happens next because this lady can tell a story. Enjoy, I did!

This is the second series I have read from Romine. She hooked me with the other series, Shockwave, Backlash, and Fallout. So now I am going to see if she can do it again. I was surprised to learn that this was her first publication and series. Serenity Lost is INTENSE and not lacking in the chemistry department. The struggle between the two brothers was most interesting to me as I tried to relate, wondering if I could do it. The two main characters are definitely made for each other and yet Romine is making them work for it which is awesome. Intense and awesome.
