Grim and Solana had my heart in this book. I feel like they were both caught in the crossfire of “adult” issues. When the story first started, there’s a glimpse of Grim and his two brothers after the death of their parents. It offered just enough backstory to capture my attention. When the story fast forwards to 14 years later, the boys are grown men who are going taking everything that was already theirs. Solana was a little green at times but I think she wanted to prove herself to her parents that she had tunnel vision. I love the way Solana and Grim ending up back together. I won’t give much away but a little kidnapping / forced proximity never hurt anyone - lol - and arranged marriage, secrets, darkness, and spice was done well. I enjoyed this one.

Queen
What can I say this book is very different from the title you would think it was a paranormal which is my ultimate fav. Plus, I am a huge fan of Ms Phoenix Williams so you know I had to read this book. I am so glad I did because this urban fiction was action packed and I loved every page. Let me tell you I could not put this book down from experiencing Solana growth from this modest young women who became a queen of the hounds was giving me I am a boss vibe and I loved it. Now there are some secrets that will be coming to light and Mr Grim is not to be played with especially when it comes to his wife and his brothers by his side. I don’t feel bad for her parents nor that Ryan they deserve what they got but I know this story is far from over. Some knew information came to light and I can not wait to find out what Deimos Syndicate is all about and also this mystery women with the violet eyes. I can not wait to read Nyx story I hope he will find his partner in crime as well.

Going for the Whitakers and not completing the assignment left and opening for their triplets to step up and step in as hounds - assassins and protectors. These three were on a mission of revenge and retribution.
Solans has known them since they all were kids. Everyone thought they were dead but now they’re back and running things. Her parents are scrambling to secure and maintain their power and position even at the cost of their daughter. She may be sheltered and pampered but she knows she can run to Grim for help.
Grim has an agenda of his own and helps her but he will definitely benefit from it. Can he walk the fine line between his feelings for her and his mission to destroy his parents killers?
No lamb to the slaughter especially when you release the hounds!

Solana was born to be a fearless leader. When her parents try to arrange her into a marriage with an abusive man all in the name of business, she turns to the man she had believed to be dead for over a decade until very recently. Grim is determined to find those responsible for his parents murder. When Solana turns up at his estate, they reluctantly combine forces and become a powerhouse in every way imaginable.
Utterly. Delightful. Those are the best words to describe this book. It has everything. It is everything. The literal only thing missing is Grim isn't a Fae but he might as well have been. I caught myself literally drooling and kicking my feet over this book. The world building is spectacular, the growth of our characters was powerful, and the whole plot was delicious. Bless Phoenix Williams for bringing us to the world of the Hounds.

Loved it!!

I started reading this because I thought it was AA paranormal fiction. I had stopped reading urban fiction because it became depressing. However, this ish right here!!-In Kat Williams voice.
I loved it and I’m glad it’s at least going to be a 3 part series!!! I hate that I read through this so fast and I’m hoping that maybe the next one is already out. No scratch that I’m praying and feening that the next 2 are out!! If not I will definitely be impatiently waiting to read the next books in the series. I love how my favorite paranormal authors are showing their versatility!!!

missing something
For me I was missing something from this first part. After being so invested in the Queen beast series I was excited to see this author start a new series while I wait for the new part to come out. It wasn’t bad at all but it just didn’t do it for me. But I’m excited about reading Nyx story. Honestly I thought Merc was next and I was suuuuper excited to read his story, but I’m okay with waiting.

I need more
I need for this author to give me more badassness and guts in the coming books. I went back and forth with my rating but overall I truly appreciate where she is trying to take us with the storyline. This particular book was about Grim and Solana reuniting and becoming a force of one despite the adversity but she showed more grit than her supposedly powerful husband. I want this author to put her foot on our necks for any future books, I believe she can do it.

Sexy Good!
This was such a good story with a very good storyline and plot. The writer draws you in with promise of something dark,sexy,adventurous and down right good. This was good,with characters that are not only likable but you get a feeling of knowing them. I say take a trip with Hounds.

April 4, 2025DNF 4% this is a contemporary despite the series name. The good ole trope of best friend never betrayed you but you think they did so you’re going to punish them. The mother is so controlling, commenting on weight, clothing, entrees, friends, and more. I do think I would like what this book ends up being, but I’m not in the mood to get through all of these obstacles first.

absolutely phenomenal book! The plot was amazing and the way it was structured was awesome. I love that there were two epilogues, so we get a preview to the second book. I hope I remember to read the second book soon, because sometimes I low-key forget. I would definitely recommend to dark romance readers that want something that makes you squeal

These hounds are definitely not wrapped too tight but what can you expect when your parents are killed in front of you and you would be dead too if not for your brother. This pressure created savages and I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the family.
