Envy Holloway suddenly falls on hard times, and she’s barely getting by. Meanwhile, she’s trying to keep her faith, despite sitting at a red light for months. She’s trying to keep things together for the sake of her daughter. These past few months, she lost her job, and she’s been denied her unemployment. The apartment complex she lives in is no longer lenient, she’s been served with an eviction notice and forced out of her apartment. Envy figured she had enough time to come up with something. Unfortunately, her time has run out and the apartment complex sits her things out. She doesn’t have any money for a U-Haul or to pay for storage. Times are hard, and the holidays are closely approaching. She doesn’t have any options or any family to stay with. Her family abandoned her years ago, so asking them for help is out of the question. Unfortunately, she finds herself in a weird situation until she crosses paths with Makai Mulsane, who’s known in the streets as Sane. He’s a big boss. Every woman who lays eyes on him wants him. The way his life is set up he’s unable to commit to anyone until he lays eyes on Envy. She softens the hard exterior he’s built up because of her circumstances. It just so happens she pulls a few strings melting his hard heart.

I loved the storyline but the writing could use a little work. Due to the writing style the story didn’t flow for me. Too many simple sentences and details that were not needed or wasn’t penned correctly. At about 50% I couldn’t do it anymore and skipped through alot just to get to the ending. Also not sure the reason for the POV of Aaron, Lynn, and Stacy with no closure. But def read for yourself this just might be your cup of tea
Lynn was foolish. I was hoping they said Aaron would of gotten out of jail at the end of the book. Aaron was wrong in so many ways but he didn't deserve to go to jail. Stacy fumbled the bag she never had. Kai and Envy are perfect for each other. I'm wondering if we could get an update on them. Maybe with Mina finding her a Boss or even Kash and Erin????
You all come hard straight out the gate!!! When you play with fire you get burned…Lynn started the fire and she got burned…Envy’s life wasn’t a cake walk in the park, when Kai came into her life he made it a lot easier to skip…I’m happy Kai came to his senses and snatched Envy up before she made the next man a great wife.
Storyline was all over the place and nowhere at all. It just wasn't cohesive at all. It just wasn't for me and that's ok. Maybe someone else will like it. Because I know how you authors and fanatical zealots get with ya lil screenshots and posting in fan groups. In the words of Sheree Whitfield "who gon check me boo?" Everybody doesn't have to like what you like.
Will there be a spin-off to this? Because I have a lot of questions. Did Aaron ever get out of jail? What happened with his mom after She got Lynn back for her crazy. What happened with Mina and Kash? Did I get together or did they go to separate ways forgood. Demina, ever find love. Did get his temper together to run business?
A good read with likeable, interesting characters. I love Envy and Kai together. Their relationship started out as friends, but grew into more. He was there for her and her daughter when they really needed some one to help them and their situation. I enjoyed this read.
This was one of the best stories of the New Year this is a banger yes I enjoyed the characters because they was like no others , the Author most definitely understood the assignment with this one!!
This book was amazing it was spiritual it was sexy and it had a lot of points about God what a woman's worth. She did amazing job on this book women must read this book also men it shows a real man from a boy is a powerful part in every aspect of this book please read it.
I loved this book from beginning to end all it was missing is a wedding and a baby. I feel bad for Aaron it never said what happened to him if he had to stay in jail . I guess he can always get his own book next.
Yessss Nikki, love this read as you always bring it didn’t expect anything less. Glad to see you back missed your books continue your writing. Great luck on your endeavors. Blessings 🙏😍
What a fantastic story you put your all into this nikk i enjoyed every second of this the beginning and the end was every thing keep up the good work l love these short stories
Kai and Envy are real goals. Not many men out here like him. It’s sad that Aaron ended up with Lynn and he ended up in jail. Stacy better be glad Kai didn’t find out what she did
Baby this book gave me all the feels. Envy and Makai meeting was the start of something beautiful. Makai picked Envy up when she was at her lowest and put her in a position to win. I am glad they both got their happy ending..
I lived every page of this standalone. This author has never disappointed me Job Well Done. I love getting a glimpse of the old crew. Envy went throughs long h but she never gave up. Great Read
perfect storyline but grammatical errors ruined true potential
I really wish the author hired an editor. The flow of the book was hindered by commas in the wrong place and other grammatical flaws. Once I overlooked those issues, I was left with a decent read
I love Kai and Envy, they are everything ❤️ I can't wait to read about the two of them again. This was an awesome story. One day I'll find my Prince Charming I hope. Nikki Nicole you did your thing on this one I love it.
This was a very good novel, I’m so glad Envy & Kai made it pass the drama and found they happily ever after. I’m the world we live in today there are still some good men out there.
