This book surprised me. I knew I was going to read some stories from a very accomplished turkey hunter but I didn't expect so many tips and tricks for when you're actually out in the field. Truthfully, I should have read this before the spring season, but I am definitely going to re-read it again with a pencil to underline the useful field info and check out Ballad of a Turkey Hunter.
I really enjoyed this passage: "It is critical you keep in mind the deal you have just made with the animal in your hand. There is no sugar-coating mortality, regardless of realm or reason... They are exchanged for a price that cannot be refunded or returned."
