I am from Kilkenny, a medieval, haunted city in the south of Ireland, which was the inspiration for the town in A Place Called Perfect. I write stories full of adventure because I get bored really easily.

A Place Called Perfect was my first book. It was published in August 2017 and was a Waterstones Book of the Month. It won numerous awards including Crimefest Children's Book of the Year and was nominated for the Irish Book Awards and Waterstones Children's Prize.

The series is a bestselling series has sold over 230,000 copies in the UK and counting and is published in 13 languages to date. Perfect has also been optioned for an animated TV series by Jellyfish Productions.

The Light Thieves is my new eco/tech adventure series that has just been launched to rave reviews. I look forward to hearing how it's received by the World at large.

When I'm not writing or designing I'm hanging around with Robbie, my husband (who loves climbing mountains), my daughters Jo and Bobbie and our crazy rescue dog Tinky.

This is book 2 in the Light Thieves series.

Its about 3 children taking on a big tech baddie who has kidnapped a bunch of people. The big bad also has something to do with the black spot slowly covering the sun, but our trio will uncover the truth. This book has heavy themes of saving the environment, importance of the sun, wildlife and the dangers of relying on technology too much. Its action packed and keeps the pace up for the full book. It does end on a cliffhanger perfectly setting up book 3. There is strong family ties and friendship between our characters in the book. I think many readers will connect with the characters.

Book 2 in The Light Thieves series picks up immediately where book 1 finishes and I'm so glad it does. Action starts straight away and as I knew the characters I was right there with them.
Grian, Jeffery and Shelli are trying to save the world from an evil genius who is trying to destroy it. Covering topics such as can technology go too far, global warming/ climate change and science this is probably aimed at older middle grade children or big kids like me. There are definitely lots of talking points, so might be even one to read with a child to discuss.
This is face paced and action packed with many twists and turns, but blimey I need the author to write / release book 3 asap!

Search for the Black Mirror is the second in the Light Thieves series. The storyline is fast paced, exciting and packed with action scenes. Classed as an eco adventure the book includes current topics such as the environment, global warming and climate change, allowing the reader, young or old, to learn about the current state of the earth.

The characters are strong, although I did find myself getting annoyed with the way one of them was speaking, with de instead of the it kept reminding me of the youths of today who feel the need to adopt a Jamaican accent.

I'm passing the book over to my young nephews who I'm sure will enjoy it as much as I did. Here's to book three...
