As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

Thinking of Home🏠

Thinking of Home is the second book of season three for The Long Road Home and focuses on Ian, who is getting out of the military to go home and help when his grandfather has surgery. Ian has taken a security job to be a Keeper in order to do this. However, Ian thought the one woman he loved and lost was just a memory but he stumbles onto her when his grandfather is moved to a recovery centre after surgery❤️‍🩹

Vicki meets Ian after a surgery. One thing leads to another and they both fall in love. Making plans to reconnect after his next mission, things go horribly wrong and each walk away with a broken heart💔 Fast forward two years and it appears Ian’s grandfather has undergone surgery and he is her patient.

I really enjoyed this story, it was fast paced and a little different to what I was expecting but in a good way❣️ Jumping into the next story now😁

Oh Maryann.... I absolutely loved this story, yet another book deserving more than a 5 star review!
This is the second book in the 3rd Long Road Home series.
Ian and Vicki's story was awesome, another Keeper finding his significant other and having a second chance to win her over. It was the right time, the right place with the right person!!
I received an ARC copy of this book via the author, and I'm willingly leaving an honest review.

Meh

Story line was good but the discrepancies in the medical stuff were too significant to get past. Insulin has been available over the counter since at least 1992. Patients don’t stay for a week in rehab after a total hip or total knee. That may have been typical in the 1980’s but definitely not since the late 1990’s. I would have expected such a well published author to have fact-checked this long before the book came out.

This is book twelve in The Long Road Home series and it is Ian and Vicki’s story and omg it id definitely a must read. Ian and Vicki have history because a few years ago when Ian ended up in the hospital in Kandahar with appendicitis it was Vicki who was the nurse that he first saw when he woke up after surgery and the connection between them was so strong and the more time that they spent together the stronger there feelings for each other grew but Ian was due to go back to his team and Vicki was due to go to Germany so they promised that they would see and talk to each other again as they had fallen in love but one conversation completely tore them apart. Now two years later and Ian is out of the military and on his way home to California as his grandfather is due to have surgery and he wanted to be there for him only for his flight to be delayed and he thought he saw someone from his past but wasn’t quick enough to check if it was her and after meeting other military men he eventually got on his flight as he was due to start his new job with LSI west coast which he was really looking forward to. Vicki is now out of the military and due to start her new job at The VA medical center and also being there for her foster mom who is due to have surgery and Vicki wanted to be there to support her especially after everything that she had done for Vicki so imagine how surprised Ian and Vicki was when they meet again and realise that there feelings for each other was still as strong and ever and after talking they both realise that it was a misunderstanding that had kept them apart so now they decided to get the second chance of being together again and having the happiness and future that they both deserved and wanted. Danger is all around them and they don’t know who to trust because murder is once again on the mind of the person who as already killed before and will again if not stopped but will Ian and his fellow LSI team be able to eliminate and take down the threat and bring them to justice before someone else is killed. Wow I absolutely love this book with all its twists and turns and the great characters like Ian’s grandfather and Vicki’s foster mom who was not only as sharp as a tack but also had a place in my heart. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting while turning the pages to see what would happen next and also what the outcome would be for them all especially the beautiful surprise. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her readers attention while reading her books which are so addictive and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed.

This romantic suspense novel is written in two parts. The first part stresses the heart-warming romance between Sergeant Ian Ridgeway and Lieutenant Vicki Bates. When they first meet, they are both in the Army and are delayed at an airport during a snowstorm.

During their time waiting at the airport together, both Vicki and Ian discover they have an unusually strong connection with each other. Plus they realize that their sexual chemistry is too strong to ignore. Therefore, even though neither of them do one-night-stands, they both make an exception this time.

Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen miscommunication, Vicki and Ian are unable to meet at a predetermined date and time. Thus, because they had never disclosed any personal information about themselves, they are unable to find each other.

Fortunately and coincidentally, two years later, Vicki and Ian meet again in a VA hospital. However, at that point, their relationship seems too broken for them to be able to reconcile.

Vicki and Ian are now retired from the Army, and have, unknowingly, relocated to the same area. Vicki is a nurse at the local VA Hospital, and she moves in with her mother, who now needs her help.

Ian’s grandfather also lives in that area, and is about to be admitted for rehab to the same VA hospital. Therefore he accepts a job from the Lighthouse Security Keepers, so he can help his mother and grandfather.

It takes a lot of hard groveling before the couple is finally able to reunite and start over. Unfortunately, now there is a killer at loose at the hospital where three of the main characters spend most of their time. Vicki works every night at the hospital. Plus, Ian’s grandfather and Vicki’s mother have both been admitted in the hospital.

This begins the second part of the book. Here all four main characters are extremely vulnerable to whoever is killing hospital residents. They are all working together with the Lighthouse Security Keepers to find out what is going on. However, all four main characters are extremely vulnerable to whoever is killing hospital residents.

Readers will love this book. It is full of mystery, intrigue, and non-stop action, with a beautiful, heartwarming romance mixed in.

Maryann Jordan you have surpassed yourself with this exceptionally beautiful read.

You can always guarantee a fantastic read when it comes to Maryann’s books but this story is absolutely beautiful in its entirety.

It pulled me in from the first sentence and wrapped its arms tightly around me as it took me on one heck of a memorable rollercoaster ride.

Ian was such a beautiful character. A complete alpha male but his goodness shines through for all to see. He has a strong moral code and has dedicated his life to protecting those who cannot protect themselves. What’s not to love about this man!!

It was so heartwarming to watch him fall instantly for Vicki. You could see him fall feet first for her. It broke my heart that due to outside influences their life together never actually got off the ground. You could feel his pain at the realisation they were not to be.

But when Blessing came into the story I knew all was not lost because Blessing is a woman with magical talents and she never fails to help the men in the USO find what they need in their lives.

Vicki is a strong and independent woman (not just because we share the same name lol). She has dedicated her life to helping others and she does it with such care and respect.

My heart aches for her as she struggled to forget Ian after their time together. It was obvious she loved him and that hadn’t changed. I almost felt her shock when she saw him again.

The depth which Maryann injects into her stories makes you feel you are there with her, soaking up the whirlwind of emotions flowing through these pages.

Watching Vicki and Ian come together again, their feelings having never diminished was so heartwarming. My heart aches for the time they’d lost but watching them come together was so compelling and beautiful.

Maryann Jordan has once again knocked it put of the park. She is, without a moments doubt, an exceptional author.

Can’t recommend this truly beautiful and compelling read highly enough

Once again, this talented author delivers a wonderful story. This stand alone is a combination of the multi author series The Long Road Home and the author’s Lighthouse Security Investigation West Coast series.
A couple of years ago, Ian Ridgeway, a Delta Force member was flown to a Afghanistan hospital for an emergency appendectomy. From the moment he opened his eyes after his surgery and met the eyes of his nurse, VIcki Bates, he felt an intense attraction. They somehow managed a relationship , even though one was an officer and the other an enlisted soldier.
A promise to meet again on New Year’s eve did not occur, each believing the other had found someone new.
Fast forward a year and a half, now both are out of the military and by chance meet once again.
A relationship begins but when geriatric patients are dying in the VA hospital where Ian’s grandfather is recovering from surgery as is Vicki’s foster mother, Ian’s new employer, Lighthouse Security Investigations West Coast, gets involved.
From the start, the plot was engaging, and the characters wonderful and well developed making this another winner from this author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Love Maryann Jordan’s stories and Thinking of Home which combines the Long Road Home series with Lighthouse Security Investigations-West Coast is a beautiful read.
Two years ago Army Spec Forces Sergeant Ian Ridgeway and Army nurse Lieutenant Vicki Bates met and fell hard for each other in Afghanistan, but their relationship burned fast and bright, place and time were against them and it wasn’t meant to be.
Present day Ian and Vicki are both newly civilian and heading home to new jobs and this is a story of second chances, as the wonderful Blessing cryptically alludes to when Ian meets her at Atlanta Airport. They meet again by chance at the VA hospital where Vicki now works and Ian’s grandfather is a patient and they have their chance at the right thing, at the right time and in the right place. As their relationship rekindles Ian and Vicki are soon deep into the mysterious deaths of several geriatric patients at the Hospital and the LSI-WC Keepers swing into action to help newest Keeper Ian solve the case and keep Vicki safe.
Interesting plot, Ian and Vicki are truly strong, caring characters and this is a heartwarming and engaging story which I throughly recommend.
I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

A whirlwind romance between Ian and Vicki while both are enlisted. Ian meets Vicki, a nurse, when Ian needed an emergency appendectomy and gets laid up in a Kandahar military hospital. He’s itching to get back to his unit after his surgery but also finds romance with Vicki. They vow to see where their romance takes them and make plans once Ian is able to contact her on New Year’s Eve, months from when he leaves the hospital.
Now years later the two see each other again but a misunderstanding from years ago kept them apart and to move forward they both need to hash out what happened and find out the truth and hopefully rekindle their romance now that both are out of the service and home again…..right place…right time….may be now.
A great read with steam, some suspense, second chances and amazing characters. I LOVED the no over the top drama….I LOVED the connection with Ian and Vicki which could be felt through the pages from the beginning…I LOVED the maturity and communication between them….I LOVED the past and present romance. The descriptions were spot on, the story flowed beautifully without skipping a beat and there were some pleasant surprises that will make you smile from ear to ear.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

There is one constant running through all of Maryann Jordan's books--family; be it blood or by bond. Thinking of Home fits right in. Several generations of family are present as well as new family connections are made because of life changes are in this wonderful romance. The enigmatic Blessing at the Atlanta airport USO gives us the book's primary theme. Timing is everything.

Vicki Bates and Ian Ridgeway met in Afghanistan and it seemed the timing was right for them to fall in love. And yet, it wasn't. Fast forward two years and timing, serendipity or fate--call it what you want--steps in and these two are unexpectedly and somewhat uncomfortably reunited. It takes a sad event to get these two communicating honestly to clear the air and reveal truths. It could end right here with an HEA but you know there's more to the story. Something nefarious is afoot at the VA Rehab center and Vicki is caught up in it. Coincidentally LSIWC is tasked with an investigation there too and it's Ian's first real investigation as a Keeper. Ensuring loved ones are safe is paramount. Solving the mystery accomplishes that and takes down the threat at the same time. Good stuff!!

I absolutely loved reading Thinking of Home . It's a wonderful suspense romance . It's part of the Long Road Home series . It's also part of The Lighthouse Security West Coast series . Sergeant Ian Ridgeway first met Lieutenant Victoria Bates while serving he had an emergency appendicitis surgery . She was his nurse while he was in recovery . They were attracted to each other immediately. While Ian was healing they grew close . As they had to part for other locations they promised to contact each other miss information occurred and they lost contact . Almost two years later they connect when Ian's grandfather has hip replacement and Vicki is his nurse but soon their reunion is interrupted when suspicious deaths start happening in the VA medical center. Ian and The Lighthouse team need to step in to find and stop who is behind the deaths before it happens closer to home . This story is sensational full of suspense and intrigue and second chances . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Home is where the heart is!

I love this series and the idea of several authors and the same starting point, the ATL airport, with totally different story lines and characters. . The story becomes a crossover to the Lighthouse WC series. I love the Lighthouse series and I feel like each book is so good. I have never been disappointed in anything regarding Maryann's writing style or anything in any of her books. I have always found the every book I've read of hers fantastic, in keeping your interest and making you feel completely immersed in the story. Thinking of Home was no exception! I love how she captures your attention, and you are trying to figure out who did what and why.
It was a beautiful story of 2nd chance romances and I loved every minute of it! Ian was great and of course finding a women for a keeper is always fun to see the strong women they fall for! I enjoyed everything about this one and it did make me think about a re read of the Lighthouse series since its been a bit since I caught up with them! Enjoy this beautiful story.

This is a beautifully written book that gives a nuanced picture of relationships in a wartime context, emotions are heightened and flames burn brightly but it’s hard to know if things will last or not . This story has more than one couple to look at . Ian is on his way to a new job with LSIWC having left the army as he feels his family needs him more at home. Vicki has also left the army and taken a job at the VA hospital near her home to help care foyer childhood foster mother who is due surgery. Imagine Vicki’s shock when she bumps into Ian in the hospital where he has come to visit his grandfather also recovering from surgery! They don’t just have this situation to deal with they also have an unexpected death on the ward that seems strange to Ian’s grandfather and to Vicki…..
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the long road home series. Highly recommended

Here we are back in another series of the long road home. This time we are back with the Lighthouse west coast team and I love visiting the keepers so this was a real treat!
Ian and Vicky had first met and started a relationship overseas, but were separated by duty and misunderstandings, helped along by a bit of malice from another.
I really enjoyed the flashbacks to their first meeting, and their reunion and they way they got to the bottom of the misunderstanding with such maturity and sense.
Before too long there are nefarious deeds afoot at the veteran’s hospital which needs the keeper’s expertise and help. Throw in Vicky’s foster mum, Miss Betty and Ernest, Ian’s grandfather and we have another great couple in the making! Betty and Ernest were just grand!

This is a great read, with good characters and a rekindling of past love.

I was given a free ARC copy, and this is my honest review willingly given.

Ian and Vicki is a story that can be true to anyone. We meet Ian when he goes through the USO at the Atlanta Airport meeting up with Blessing. Blessing seems to be the catalyst for many of these relationships and help guide these military man towards there fate. Ian is on his way to work for LSI West after leaving the service. Vicki is a ex Army nurse that is now working at a VA rehab. They had crossed paths in the past yet unfortunately kept losing contact. Some from just the way service was and other reasons because of people being jealous. Finally they cross paths again because of different events. When things start happening at the VA rehab LSI West is called in forcing Ian and Vicki together more and more. As always the previous characters and new characters play a role in the story. This story will give you suspense, mystery, and romance that will have you turning the pages quickly.

Such an awesome swoony, second chance, romantic suspense story!

Ian is starting a new job with Lighthouse Security Investigations after leaving the service. He moved back home to California to be able help care for his grandfather post surgery.

“He was now embroiled in his first investigation as a Keeper, and all he could think about was keeping his loved ones safe.”

At the VA rehab facility, Ian comes face to face with “The one who got away”
Vicki has to decide if she is willing to hear Ian’s version of what happened to split them apart years earlier and expose her vulnerable heart again.

“…when she finally surrendered to sleep, he lay awake, holding her tightly as though his arms could protect her from all harm.”

Danger hits close to home and Ian has to investigate while keeping his loved ones safe.

Thinking of Home is part of the Long Road Home multi author series but each story can be read as a stand-alone.

Right time, right place.

Ian and Vickie met in the military, but it didn't work out, despite their feeling of deep love for each other. Two years later they are out of the military, back at their homes in northern California and, by sheer happenstance, find each other. They learn, perhaps, their time and place are at hand. However, there is suspicious goings on at the VA hospital where Vickie works as a nurse. And both she and Ian have personal reasons to worry about the questionable actions happening in the VA geriatric post op ward. Ian is a new operative for West Coast Lighthouse Security and he is still getting settled, but he is good at his new job and he has a superb, experienced team supporting him. And Ian, Vickie and their loved ones need all the help they can get. Many aspects of this book prove how important being in the right place at the right time is, and how fate rules all. Lovely and captivating story.

I am absolutely in love with Thinking Of Home. It is the second book in the third season of the Long Road Home series, and it is tied into the Lighthouse West Coast series This book has it all. It is romantic, swoon worthy, sexy, suspenseful second chance story. Maryann Jordan always writes excellent lovable characters with great plots. Vicki and Ian had a whirlwind romance, but life got in their way. They get a second chance when they meet up two years later at the hospital that Vicki is working at. There is an additional medical mystery either into the plot. There is also a bonus story within the story. I won’t give away any spoilers, but you will love it! Thinking of Home kept me turning pages until I was done. I can’t wait for more books in the Lighthouse and Long Road Home series!

All I can say is don’t miss this one. Ian is at our favorite Atlanta Airport USO and meeting Blessing, who will all know has some sort of second sense about people. Ian thinks he’s sees the nurse, Vicki, he met years ago but never gets to see if it’s her, while they were both on active duty. Moving forward Ian is now working for LSI WC and Vicki is know working at the local VA hospital. Through several events that take place concerning family members close to both, Ian and Vicki again meet up and are able to find out why they lost touch. Mysterious happenings at the hospital will have LSI WC becoming involved to help out the newest member of their team and his significant other. MaryAnn will take you on a ride of lost love, reunited love, a hospital mystery and a wonderful story that will keep you on the edge of your chair until the very end. Enjoy.

What an amazing love story. The Long Road Home Thinking of Home has Ian Ridgeway at the Atlanta Airport USO meeting Blessing. He thinks he sees a long lost love. Blessing and her keen insight reminds him of the right thing, right time and right place. This becomes the theme of Ian and Vicki's 2nd chance romance. They are rediscovering their love amid mysterious activities at the VA. With the help of the LSIWC Keepers, FBI and Ian's grandfather and Vicki's foster mom, will Ian and Vicki be able to solve the mystery without harm?

I loved Ian and Vicki being reunited at the right thing, right time and right place. This romantic suspense is a page turner you don't want to put down! I highly recommend it!

This was an amazing read from start to finish! Ian Ridgeway is delayed in Atlanta and heads to the USO and it is there that he thinks he sees someone he used to know, which leads into a flashback. Ian is with is unit when he gets appendicitis and has to have surgery. When he wakes, he meets Vickie Bates and the romance begins. When their time is up, they make plans to talk in 6 months on New Years Eve which doesn’t happen. Things happen and then we fast forward a year and a half later where they once again meet and and sparks fly. We wouldn’t have a Maryann Jordan story without a little suspense but it will keep you guessing the culprit. I loved this story and loved the relationship between the characters. I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review.

As ALWAYS Maryann Jordan you did it again...I fell in Love with this book. I know the main love story was about Ian and Vicki, but my HEART grew with Earnest and Miss Betty.

From moment one I was drawn into this story, and seeing Blessing arrive in the story I knew there was hope and faith that Ian and Vicki paths would cross again.

Having Ian become a keeper and finding his second chance at love was the clincher of this story.

Not only did Ian find his second chance at love but reading about Earnest and Miss Betty finding each other again opened up the flood gates.

Maryann Jordan has wrapped me up in her world I felt I was right there with every single one of them...

I received an ARC copy of this book from this author and I'm leaving and Honest review.

This is kind of like a two ships passing in the night, but they had plans that Ian would call on New Year's Eve. With false information given to Vicki, she plans to work New Year's Eve and leaves her phone at home where her roommate answers when Ian calls and she tells him that Vicki is at an Officer's New Year's Eve party. Two years later, they meet at the VA where she works and his grandpa is a patient. With hurt feeling coming back to both of them, will they be able to clear the air and have their second chance? What happens when someone is killing patients that and grandpa is a witness? Will they be able to work together to figure out who did it before something happens to grandpa and Miss Betty or anyone else?

I think this is my favorite of the West Coast stories yet.

THINKING OF HOME CROSSOVER NOVEL
THE LONG ROAD HOME AND LIGHTHOUSE SECURITY INVESTIGATIONS WEST COAST
MARYANN JORDAN
Ian and Vickie met in Afghanistan where they connected. Things happened to break the connection. When they run into each other after two years, would it be the right time and right place?

A story full of twists and turns that has you turn page after page until the very end along Ian’s journey to find Home. Another great addition to the Long Road Home series.

Lovely romance with second chance love and intrigue… what’s not to love about this book? An easy-to-read book with just a bit of angst and mystery. A nice addition to The Long Road Home series with cross-over to the LSIWC series.
Timing is everything especially for Ian and Vicki. They fell in love in Afghanistan, but miscues let them slip away from each other. Now they accidently reunite in California… will this time be different?
Together Ian, Vicki and the LSIWC crew must find out why Veterans in a rehab facility are dying and who is to blame. Time is of an essence especially since Ian’s grandfather, Ernest and Vicki’s foster mother, Miss Betty are patients there.
Enjoy!

Timing is truly everything! Ian and Vicki’s story is perfect. Ian is headed home after serving to be closer to family and join LSI West Coast. Vicki has served and needs to be home to assist a family member. A just missed meeting opportunity and a save by Blessing reminds Ian that timing must be perfect! Their reunion spins into a second chance not only for them but for their loved ones . A dangerous individual is causing mayhem and intrigue and suspense keeps everyone on their toes. Loved the team interaction and catching up with them. Excellent story! Maryann Jordan never disappoints! 5+ stars.

Timing is everything. Vicki and Ian started off falling in love in a war-zone when they were both being sent different places and wouldn’t have any way to stay in touch. After a few missed opportunities they find the timing is finally right. This story was so much more than just a love story. While they are finding their footing on the new relationship those they love are in danger. Solving a mystery and keeping everyone safe is a job Ian and The Keepers can’t turn down. I couldn’t stop reading until I knew how it was going to end. I’m also a sucker for older characters so I loved Miss Betty and Ernest! Forbidden-Love, Second Chance, Small Town Romance, Mystery
