"The Mancinelli Brotherhood series is a shining star in the mafia romance world! — Reading Rebel Reviews
She never should have been there.
She never should have seen what I did.
They might chase her, but no one is taking her from me.
Just let them try…
Now nothing will stop me from protecting what’s mine.
She’s everything to me. My soulmate. My one great love.
I’ll push her body to the edge…
Then give her everything she desires.
Mafia Heir is a Mafia Romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains EXTRA-STEAMY scenes that will make your toes curl and your granny blush. This is book one in The Mancinelli Brotherhood, a six-book series that’ll keep you warm at night.
Mafia Heir by Sabine Barclay The Mancinelli Brotherhood series #1. Dark romance with erotica elements. Connected by world building to The Ivankov and O’Rourke Brotherhoods. Olivia D’Amato exits the rear of the store and into a cartel deal gone wrong. She’s quick enough to jump behind the dumpster to avoid getting shot but that’s not going to save her when they track her down. Luca Mancinelli, the heir of the Italian don, is immediately enamored with the feisty gorgeous blonde and helps her escape the situation. They can’t resist each other and end up in a steamy relationship where she wants to play like she’s never been able to in the past. But the danger isn’t gone when there are lots of rules and more than one ruling family in the boroughs of New York.
Dark mafia situations. Daddy play. Quite a bit of Italian with direct translations immediately following. More streamy play. More family. The first of six books. Sizzling romance. I admit I prefer the “good” guys but I understand the appeal of the bad boy. And these two are totally devoted to each other. Who can resist that?
This book was terrible. First off he was a mafia man with no red flags which in itself was a red flag. It was like instant live and 2 days after meeting they are basically confessing their love for each other. And I like a daddy kink as much as the next person but this book ruined it. The way they used it so casually and he was like I’m no into dd/lg but the way they were talking was that. The only reason I kept reading after ch 5 was because I was reading this with my friend. Worst mafia Romance I’ve ever ready. Idk how this was published. Or how it’s almost 4 ⭐️. This author should never write a mafia romance book again
Olivia sees something she shouldn’t have but Luca plans to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. He knew she was the one as soon as he saw her but can he make her believe that? This is a fast-paced mafia read with loads of drama, suspense and sizzling scenes. Great characters and very steamy. I liked it.
The plot was interesting. The conversations in Mexican made it a difficult read. Then throw in the Dom sub, fighting, everyone's personal drama. The storyline got lost. Before I recommend an author I will have to read another book. This could be just a fluke.
This is the first book I have read by this author. The heroine was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was drawn into the story, but the back stories did become confusing. Wish I had know to start her other series first.
This was an interesting book. The instant soulmate was a bit much for me. There are a lot of characters in this book. I had trouble keeping track of all of them at times. I did enjoy parts of the story, but the timing of some of the scenes was a bit off in my opinion.
I just got so bored reading this I wasn't able to actually finish it ... I kept falling asleep reading it because it stopped being interesting after the first 5 chapters. Everything happened so fast there was nothing really to look forward to. Their whole relationship was 0-60 within 1 chapter. He immediately fell in love with her by the time the book started. Literally the first time he saw her. She pushed him away a bit but that was it.
I've always felt the daddy/LG in books are a bit cringe. It has to be written a certain way for me to like it and at first I was like okay yeah this actually not so bad ... but it just all felt a bit off. Not the worst daddy / LG I've read though.
The smut was not bad but felt like it was repeating some. The writing and world building wasn't that great. It all felt a bit forced .. like it was hard to believe this stuff was actually happening. The way the interacted with one another just didn't feel real.

Olivia D’Amato is at the wrong place at the wrong time & it changes her life forever when she’s rescued & saved by Luciano Mancinelli. This is the first book in the Mancinelli Brotherhood, which is the second branch of the Syndicate Wars. Whilst it's easily read on its own we do meet characters from previous books. Another very well written fast paced story. The characters ooze depth & you feel as though you are there with them. I loved Luca & Livy, their attraction was immediate & they fell hard & fast for each other but she has to deal with the fallout from their first meeting & the continued threats. There’s secrets, revelations, revenge & a love story that’s both passionate & tender. I loved seeing the Italians in a different light. This isn’t a short read but it is an engrossing, riveting one which drew me in from the first page & had me engrossed until the last My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

"Mafia Heir" is a very well written mafia story. There is action, steam (lots of it), violence in a good story. I was conflicted whether to give it 4 or 5 stars because around 40% of it i found it dragging a little with too many details. However, overall was good so i opted for 4.5 stars. I was impressed by the author's use of the Italian language Ii don't know Spanish, so i can't comment on that). The romance was "solid", no stupid misunderstandings, lies or change of hearts (which i hate). I have read one more book from the author as Celeste Barclay and i will definitely read more.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
To be perfectly honest, I desperately tried to get through this book. I made it to 75% and I can officially say I’m a quitter.
First and foremost I threw up in my mouth every time she called him Daddy.
Secondly, there is just way too, too many family trees and characters to keep track of. So much boring information.
Finally, I get you have Italian and Spanish speaking characters, but I don’t need paragraphs wasted and dialogue fully written in Italian or Spanish, and then translated into English .
3.75stars-MAFIA HEIR is the first instalment in Sabine Barclay’s contemporary, adult MANCINELLI BROTHERHOOD erotic, Mafia/crime world romance series-a spin off/interconnected with the author’s Ivankov Brotherhood series. This is thirty-one year old, heir to the Mancinelli Brotherhood Luciano ‘Luca’ Mancinelli, and twenty-eight year old, promotions rep Olivia ‘Livy’ D’Amato’s story line. MAFIA HEIR can be read as a stand alone. Any important information from the original series is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of Mafia Heir cross over with some of the events of the Ivankov Brotherhood series.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers including violence, spanking and Daddy/baby girl dynamic (but no age play).
Told from dual first person perspectives (Luca and Livy) MAFIA HEIR follows in the wake of Olivia ‘Livy’ D’Amato witnessing the murder of several members of the Mexican Cartel at the hands of our story line hero. Luca Mancinelli and his men had a deal with the Mexican Cartel but more money was demanded, and Livy was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, as she left work a few minutes early. Saving Livy was a priority for Luca Mancinell, as she is an innocent in the ways of organized crime, but saving Livy meant pulling our heroine into a world she knew nothing about. Under Luca’s protection, Livy would discover that Luca’s kinks and sexual needs were about to become her own when a Daddy/little girl dynamic meant more than our heroine could have imagined. As the Mexican Culliacan Cartel continue to target our story line heroine, betrayal and lies would pull the Mancinelli family into a potential war with the Irish Mob, the Mexican Cartel, and the Russian Bratva. What ensues is the building but highly sexual relationship between Livy and Luca, and the fall-out when secrets reveal a close connection between Livy and everyone involved.
The relationship between Livy and Luca begins as a rescue; an immediate attraction wherein Luca places Livy under the family’s protection, and claims our heroine as his own but something about Livy gives everyone pause, something that even our heroine knows nothing about. Luca is a Dominant, and likes control but Livy is no submissive, and would rather cuddle up to her ‘Daddy’ when he needs a hug from his ‘little girl’. The $ex scenes are aggressive, erotic, provocative and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of powerful and colorful secondary and supporting characters including many members of the Irish Mob, Italian Mafia (aka Cosa nostra), Russian Bratva, Mexican Culiacan Cartel. We are introduced ( re-introduced in some cases) to Luca’s brothers Lorenzo, Marco, and their sister Marie; their parents Massimo and Nicoletta, and their foster-son Matteo (Marco’s best friend) Carlotta and Domenico; Paola and Cesare; and their son, Luca’s cousin Carmine, and Carmine’s best friend/brother Gabriele; uncle Salvatore Mancinelli (don of New York), and his wife Sylvia; and Livy’s parents Maritza and Danny. Several characters from the Ivankov Brotherhood including Maksim and Laura (Bratva Darling 1), and Anastasia. The requisite evil has many faces.
MAFIA HEIR is a story of betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, power and control, acceptance and love. The premise is gritty, intriguing and dramatic ; the characters are numerous, animated and dynamic; the romance is spirited and impulsive.
The first in a new series - The Mancinelli Brotherhood - Mafia Heir is a classy read.
Unlike so many books set against the Mafia/Bratva cartels, this has a totally - 'wrong place wrong time' - believable plot set up, where our Hero - Luca and our heroine Olivia (Livy) - first clap eyes on each other.
Luca- as the title suggests - is set to take over as the Don of the Mancinelli family at some point in the future and his life is pretty much set for him. Enter Olivia and the chemistry between the two literally sizzles the page...
Luca is a Dominant by choice and Livvy an innocent to the lifestyle.... but hell everyone's got to start somewhere eh? !
Absolutely no spoilers here. There are trigger warnings from the author but for me, there was nothing I could find even remotely offensive about this book. I didn't call it a classy read for nothing.
The plot is layered and has a satisfying thread throughout. There are also a number of secondary characters - brothers and a sister - that are intriguing and I hope will have books of their own in this series.
What really kept me turning the page was the obvious infatuation Luca had with Livy. Oh lustful, caring, sexy ,protective Luca...... You don't often read about Mafia men like this.
So why not 5 stars?
I didn't particularly take to Olivia, I found her character (for me) feisty one moment and mush the next. Her circumstances changed overnight yet she seemed to take it all too easily in her stride. This is subjective of course, but didn't she have a list load of calls to make?
I worry about my boy Luca too. Is he really cut out for his, no doubt, brutal future as a mafia don? Or maybe it is just Livy that is his weakness... the jury, for me, is out on that one.
There are also whole paragraphs in Italian (very impressive) followed by the English translation. Now, it is obvious that an Italian mafia family, are, of course, going to be speaking Italian and I don't know how you get round this but, as a consequence I skipped all the Italian, as I sadly do not speak this beautiful romance language. Let me point out though that this is not a short book so in no way is the reader short changed.
To summarise - irrespective of my small negatives - the writing is excellent, the steam off the charts and the plot absorbing.
Recommended.

The start of The Mancinelli Brotherhood series if the rest of the series follow suit, then I can’t wait to see where it leads turned so hang on and buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!. The Syndicate war is in full swing four groups fight to control New York, the Russians, the Irish, the Mexican cartel, and the Italians all want the control. Olivia is so sweet having left work earlier than usual finding herself in the wrong place at the wrong time witness the murder of several cartel members putting a target on her back and right in the cross hairs of the man who did the killing who she has seen firsthand is ruthless. Lucca sexy as all get out mafia, ruthless when needed , deadly when pushed, kills without hesitation and protective of those he consider family so the moment the cutie witness him take out several cartel members because they decided to try and swaddle him so he delt with it swiftly, quickly. Now he has another problem to deal with his little witness an innocent so taking her for her own protection was his only choice but also, forced his hand into dragging her from her very innocent world to his and what a shock it was. The attraction was instant, intense, and neither of them can walk away from the pull between them his need for control but she isn’t a submissive or so she thinks but who is Olivia really, she doesn’t know much about her history as her mom was an orphan smuggled into the us at the age of eighteen, her mother didn’t talk wouldn’t talk about her father but learns throughout the story come to find out she is the link between all four families but with all the bullets being shot at them teaches her how to hide good, knowing that he will protect her, will she be okay upon finding the truth of her background, and can they find happiness somewhere along the line of running from the gun fire?.

“The idea of love at first sight wouldn’t exist if there weren’t truth to it.”
Ok. I’ll admit it, even though I read Bratva Treasure months ago, I had totally forgotten what Luca, Carmine and Gabrielle had done to Stasia. I’m a little embarrassed, too, because it was really terrible. It all came back when Luca said something about it and it completely changed my perception of Luca himself. I mean, what they did was beyond bad and even though I know Salvatore punished them big time and clearly Luca has repented, is sorry and is doing everything he can to make up for it, I had a hard time forgiving him enough to see him as a man worthy of Livy. I think if I hadn’t actually read about it back then in all it’s glory and instead just had the information provided in this book it would have been easier to get past it. Since I did read the first book it took a lot of time. Fortunately I did and was then able to get on board with his and Livy’s love story, which is actually very sweet while still being a mafia romance. Luca and Livy are so great together and their connection was there from day one. I loved watching how Luca evolved due to her presence in his life and his feelings for her.
Like all of the books in the Ivankov series, this book has tons of action and a lot of plot. It’s also nice and long. I love how she never rushes us through her stories and gives us everything possible. I always feel like I got the full story. Sabine does a good job of trying to provide enough background for anyone new to her books but the reality is, even though this is a new series, it’s still part of the same world and a direct spinoff so not reading any of the books in the other series, you will miss out on everything going on not to mention with all of the characters overlapping, the longer these books go on, the harder it will be for someone to jump in mid-series. Still, being the first in this new series, it’s easier to start here than it would be to start midway through the first series. So, in that respect, this can be read as a stand alone. But be careful, like potato chips it’s almost impossible to just read one. You’ll find yourself sucked into the complex and exciting world she’s created and will want to read them all.
An Intriguing New Mafia Romance… Author, Sabine Barclay has written a book one page turner in her new series about The Mancinelli Brotherhood, which is part of the overarching, “The Syndicate Wars, an underground world where four organized crime groups vie to control New York City.” There are the Russians, the Irish, the Mexicans, and finally the Italians. The Mancinelli family’s underboss, Luca and his romantic interest, Olivia is the cornerstone for the storyline. Under the author’s careful pen she weaves a beautiful story of romance including how that plays out between like-minded souls. How Olivia comes to find out who she really is.How the lives of all these families, while not sharing ethnicity, do share the need for continuity, brings them together out of begrudgingly respect…up to a point. There is a solid backstory so the readers can see how the next generation came to be who they are. How the Mancinelli brothers, with Luca being the oldest are the way they are. The love between Luca and Olivia is written for adults who understand that love has many positions..in and out of the bedroom. I think those scenes are written clearly and sensually without going over the top. Well done! I’m so looking forward to more stories and because I’m new to this author, I will be going back and reading the other books. Definitely recommending this book for your reading pleasure and satisfaction. PEACE.

An Unexpected Meeting Turns Into A Life Changer As this new series begins The Mancinelli Brotherhood , Book 1 Mafia Heir , Sabine Barclay takes us on an adventure into the world of the Costa Nostra . There is something Enthralling about there life, world and code they live by. Movies, television, and books always make it so much more appealing , fascinating , and glamorous than it really is. Maybe that is why we are so caught up and drawn into the whole Mafia concept. I don’t think about the brutality of what is involved just the intrigue and the allure that pulls me in.This story has all that and more. The story unfolds when Luca Mancinelli meets Olivia D’Amato under extreme circumstances. Things take off with such intensity, intrigue, unanswered questions, danger, and yes plenty of sex. The whole time you are kept wondering what is the secret behind Olivia. You will be kept in suspense the whole story and be surprised. Luca and Livy have a great story to tell. Your kept captivated in there tale . Sabine also introduced the whole family to you so you are familiar with them. So now I can’t wait see where the next Mancinelli Brotherhood takes me.

“Mafia Heir” is the first book in ‘The Mancinelli Brotherhood’ series by Sabine Barclay. If you’ve read her ‘Ivanov Brotherhood’ series, you’ll recognize it as a spinoff from that and be familiar with some of the characters. It’s not necessary for you to have done so before you can read and understand the plot of this book.
Olivia is in the wrong place at the wrong time and walks in on something she shouldn’t have seen – business between the Mafia and a Cartel. Luca, heir to the current Don of the Mancinelli Family, is determined to protect her from the Cartel members who now want her dead. It’s an intense roller coaster ride for both of them. The story intensifies at an excellent pace. Some of the twists and turns definitely took me by surprise. Because the story is told from dual points of view, it’s great to be able to understand what each of the main characters is thinking and feeling.
This is a steamy story, and the connection between Olivia and Luca feels sincere. They have to navigate a lot of obstacles on the way to a happy conclusion, and it’s entertaining to be along for the ride.

Mafia Heir centers around Luca Mancinelli and Olivia D'Amato. He is his uncles heir to be the next Don of the family and she is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. And her world gets turned upside down in many unexpected ways.
If you are a fan of author Sabine Barclay's Bratva series, you have already met the Mancinelli family. Mafia Heir gives more insights to their family and its dynamic, how they go about daily life and what happens when you meet the one person you were meant to meet - at the wrong time.
This is a fast paced book - except, for me, the long paragraphs that were in Italian. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful language, but I don't speak it or read it, so filtering through those words to the translation was a bit tedious to me.
That said if you liked the Bratva books you are going to want to get your hands on Mafia Heir. It is a very good beginning to what will be a six book series. The romance between Luca and Livy is very steamy yet it is also sweet as he tries to give her everything he can, knowing her life has become sideways. The family dynamic is explained as members are introduced and the boys get into firefights and encounter danger that is simply part of the life.

OMG! Wow, I loved this fascinating book, the gripping storyline of the Syndicate Wars had me riveted to my seat. The story was exhilarating, the excitement of matching up the war games with the families Mafia, Cartels, Bratva, Irish, Mexico, Italians, Colombians. Luca Mancinelli is the underboss and heir to his uncle, he was making a deal when it all goes wrong. It became a guessing game of who was going to run out of bullets or body's first, with the twist and turns, the betrayals, deceit, double crossing. Olivia, (Livy, or Liv,) doesn't know much about her family, she know her mum was an Orphan and at eighteen she was smuggled into the US, and her father was someone she doesn't know or talk about. Lily and Luca meeting he was at and they had been inseparable since and now they have to keep running away from bullets.

This first book in The Mancinelli Brotherhood series is captivatingly hot, full of adventure and passion as we meet Luca Mancinelli and Livy D'Amato. Livy (Olivia) was never meant to be a witness to a murder, and Luca was never meant to become so entranced by the little blonde spitfire. As their story begins, they are immediately drawn to each other as Luca tries to protect Livy from lethal danger. Luca is protective, caring, loving, and passionate, whilst Livy is strong, resourceful, and beautiful, but she is thrown into a world that she does not understand, and as the chapters move forward, both their lives take twists and turns as secrets are revealed. This book was a real page turner, as are all Sabine Barclay's books. Extremely descriptive, exciting and well written, one never knows which way the story will go. I absolutely oved this sizzling hot book and cannot wait to read the next one in the series.
This is an excellent book.It starts off with Livy being rescued ( almost abducted, really) by Luka when she walked into a bad situation. There were a lot of characters to keep track of.Brothers, cousins, many different syndicates. The Colombians, the Italians, the Russians, the Mexicans. Some things were mentioned that happened in books from a different series( the Russian Bratva) done by this author.Originally reading her Bratva series is what had me interested in her other mob series.I am glad I got this series. As a starter this book sets up the brothers and cousins for their own books. This book , Luka's story gets rather complicated towards the end when explaining about Livy's family. It is a big mystery throughout the book, then explaoned rather quickly near the end.Lots of descriptive violence, heavy on the sex.Good characters,well- written with few typos or spelling errors.Good book.I am off to book #2- Carmine's story. 😃
There is plenty of shoot-outs, death, deals that go south and much more drama that keep you on the edge of your seat. The dynamics between Luca and Livy at first are contentious and then evolve to something more intimate. Livy is a smart cookie. When Luca told her to run and disguise herself the way she did it was impressive. Luca thank goodness holds to the rule no harm to innocent women and children. Otherwise he would not have bothered to save Livy from his enemies. Great storyline. A must read. You will not be disappointed.

After the Russians, we now enter the world of the Italians. Sabine made quite a bet after painting them as truly despicable beings in the Bratva series: will we be able to fall for them? And the answer is “Of course!” We start this new series with Luca, whom I have truly enjoyed to despise in the Kutsenkos’s series. He will turn out to be quite the character, falling hard for Olivia, who got lucky to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Sabine does it again: while she creates a very intense love story, the background one is as strong and complex, keeping you on the edge of your seat and bringing out surprises you never imagined could happen. This is a fast paced one: I had a hard time putting it down (well, sleep IS for ninnies!)! Can’t wait to read the next instalment!.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I want to go back and read others as I always enjoy inter-woven characters from other books. This book was the perfect mix of Mafia and erotic. It includes all the violence that is expected but sometimes not written into other stories correctly. While I’ll never understand the “Daddy” thing, I loved the BDSM aspect of things as well. When a writer includes side characters that you are equally invested in, that’s a great story, in my opinion. I hope this isn’t a spoiler and just my observation, but I have never known people to talk so much during sex before, especially the type of heat these two had going on. I loved how open and honest these were together though, especially for the type of story it is. I look forward to reading more.

"Mafia Heir" is another riveting book in the Syndicate Wars. It is the first book in the Mancinelli Brotherhood. One of the things I like most about Sabine Barclay is her ability to draw me in right from the start. The story well written and as you read you feel like you are a part of the story. The characters are strong as well as complex. There are more BDSM elements in this book, they are well written and not overpowering to the story. But if that is not your thing then you may want to take a pass on this book. I absolutely loved everything about this book.
It is not necessary to have read the Ivankov Brotherhood first, but I did enjoy the additional insight it provided. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

Luca is an underboss for the Mancinelli family and is the heir to leader. He and his men were meeting a Mexican Cartel behind a liquor store to buy a tequila shipment. The cartel member is going back on the deal and Luca explains why they should keep their word. Just as weapons are being drawn, a beautiful blond woman walks out. She witnesses the shoot out which only leaves Luca and his men standing. Luca is drawn to Livy the liquor store worker . He wants to keep her safe so he tells her to leave the city and lie low. He suggests that she dye her hair and get colored contacts. Reluctantly he lets her go but has his men follow her. When the cartel tries to take her the next day, Luca is there to rescue her. This time he's not letting her go.
