I think this might be my favorite of the series.
Jamie & Fallon
Former playboy turned single dad in a blink of an eye and he stepped into fatherhood with ease. He always seemed so easy going with an it is what it is attitude in previous books, so I liked that he really stepped up at the pub, too, and took over managing it while his parents were away.
Fallon was so sweet and so good with baby, Asher, too. I hate how she was so hard on herself not being able to keep a job, but what she ended up doing in the end just felt perfect for her.
I felt their relationship developed at a nice pace and did not feel rushed. 3rd act breakup for the birds as they usually are.
If you've read my reviews on this series before ~ I'm happy to report that meddling mom, Kate, has really tamed down. She only made a couple of appearances and not until the end and barely meddled.
Another delightful addition to the series. Up next is Patrick's story. I've smelt this set up for a while and I'm excited the author is going to give us a different trope.

I think this might be my favorite of the series.

I liked the premise of this book but I think the audio part took away from it. I really didn’t the male side of the story and it kind of wrecked a little bit of it. The cultural differences were cute but also felt a little exaggerated. Overall, the love story was cute but it was just okay.
🌀Synopsis
A baby on his doorstep turns Jamie’s life upside down. He’s just getting the hang of running the family pub and doesn’t have time to be a full time dad. Thankfully, Fallon just got back in town and without job prospects she’s in the perfect position to help. The only problem is that the two have been enemies as long as they can remember.
Knowing he needs the help, Jamie agrees to let her into his home. He follows her rules and tries to help the baby thrive. Lack of sleep is still impacting him though and he asks her to move in. A big decision but she makes it knowing it’s best for the baby. The time together leads to several intimate encounters and Jamie finally reveals he has feelings for Fallon.
When the baby’s mom shows back up Jamie and Fallon are at odds on what path to take. It causes such a rift that Jamie moves out and looks to move on. It doesn’t take long for Jamie to realize she was right and he needs to apologize and get her back immediately.

This was a charming small town, dual POV, single dad, enemies to lovers, forced proximity Nanny romance that sees former childhood nemeses teaming up when playboy Jamie Donovan unexpectedly discovers he's a dad and gets left with the task of caring for his newborn son.
Enter Fallon Murphy, recently fired from her job and returned to her hometown where she gets enlisted to help Jamie care for his son. This is part of a series but definitely worked as a standalone and is perfect for fans of authors like Elsie Silver, Max Munro or Vi Keeland.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review. Overall this was a quick, enjoyable read but not a super amount of emotional depth for my tastes (ie good not great, won't be a super memorable one for me).

This was the first book I read by Samantha Chase, which makes it the first in the series. Characters from the previous books make enough of appearances, which I would have enjoyed if I had previously read those before this one.
Jamie's character seemed to be immature and unfavorable yet Fallon brought out his best qualities in him. And I believed that Fallon's character was lacking.
Overall, I found this to be a short read but not really memorable.

and is an enjoyable and cute romance that is book 4 in The Donovans series!
It was an easy read that’s perfect for fans of interconnected standalone series. I enjoyed the banter, spice, and cuteness.
There were a couple times where I did find the plot to be a little too perfect. Fallon not being able to keep a job but then meshing with this random baby almost instantly? A little too hard to believe. I guess I just wanted a little more drama 😂
Either way, I did enjoy the book and look forward to checking out the other books in The Donovans series!

My Review: Charm Me by Samantha Chase is book four in The Donovans series. It chronicles the relationship of Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy.
About the Book: No love has ever been lost between Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy. From their childhood and into their adulthood, they have chosen to give each other a wide berth. Over the course of time, they settled into keeping a very necessary distance from each other, despite the fact that their families are close. When an unexpected, life-changing incident occurs, the forever frenemies soon realize that something serious may be budding between them.
About the Characters:
Jamie - > Fun loving, easy going, and laid back; a sexy charmer; family-oriented and loyal; shares a tight bond with his siblings; responsible yet learning to be even more so
Fallon - > Only child who has a close relationship with her parents; professional; insecure due to setbacks and emotionally impacted by circumstances, has goals; has a strong constitution; friends with the Donovan clan (well, maybe except for Jamie)
My Final Say: This Donovan installment had a very mature story. It went in a direction that I never even anticipated. I loved how it broached the topic of mental illness. The featured scenario that Jamie found himself in was realistic and believable. Fallon's presence gave the special situation some texture. I loved how her engagement provided food for thought, as well as stability.
Readers who love family-rich stories will fall in love with the Donovans. They are sure to find Jamie and Fallon's romance interesting.
Other: I highly recommend this entire series of books. I have enjoyed every single one of them. I look forward to reading Patrick and Marissa's story. (The preview was great!)

Charm Me is an enemies to lovers, surprise baby, close proximity romance that is a quick and easy read.
Jamie is thrilled to finally be in charge of his families pub, while his parents are on a long vacation. He has plans for some changes at the pub he hopes to be fully in charge of one day. His life is turned upside down when the last woman he was involved with leaves a three week old baby on his doorstep, saying it is his. His family, as Donovans do, gather together to help problem solve. Enter his old nemesis, Fallon. She is currently unemployed, and the perfect person to do some nannying for him while he figures out how to juggle his job and a new baby. Fallon and Jamie start to see different sides from each other, while Jamie realizes he may have had feelings for Fallon long ago.
I found Jamie a bit immature. He is written as this aloof guy, hopping from the bed's of any women in town. I wasn't his biggest fan, and found myself downright frustrated with him at times. He said things that were mean, and did things that just didn't sit right. I do wish he had matured a bit more throughout the story. That said I didn't completely hate Jamie either. I think Samantha Chase wrote him in a way that made us love him, even if we hated some of the things he did.
I felt for Fallon, but I also felt we were missing a bit of her story. We know that she felt she had to go to school, and struggled with her previous two jobs, but never saw the intricacies of it.
I think that we just didn't get enough of a look into her as a person and the things that made her a whole person.
I did like what the author did with the baby's mom. She did some things that would have been easy to write her off, but I liked that there were complexities there which made me really think about what I would do in this situation.

This is the first book that I have read by Samantha Chase. It is book 4 in the Donovan series but can be read as a stand-alone. What a great book! I will be going back to read the rest of them!
Jamie Donovan works at the family pub with hopes of one day taking over. He also has a reputation for being a flirty, charming, ladies man who one day finds a baby on his porch!
Not knowing what to do Jamie called his siblings to help with this situation. As great as they were, they had their own lives and couldn't help take care of the baby. His sister called a family friend, Fallon, to offer her a nanny position. Fallon is a serious, career oriented person who recently moved back home after losing her job.. Fallon and Jamie don’t get along. They have always been rivals and oftentimes their fighting turned ugly. Unfortunately, neither really had a choice - he didn’t have anyone else to watch the baby and she needed the money/time to figure out what she was going to do next.
Fallon quickly fell in love with baby Asher. The relationship between her and Jamie starts to change too. What was once a rivalry is turning into something more - an adorable little family. Until the baby’s mom comes back into the picture Jamie & Fallon have different ideas of how the custody should be shared which causes trouble in their relationship. Thankfully Jamie figures out what he needs to do to make it right again.
I loved the chemistry between Jamie & Fallon.I loved the transformation that Jamie made into fatherhood & long term boyfriend/fiancé. I love the family dynamics in this book - the side characters are all great too! It was nice to see a book to have a character who seeks the help that they need. It is so refreshing to see the message of it being “ok to not be ok”. I am truly glad that Asher’s mom got the help that she needed. I definitely agreed with Fallon on this aspect of the book!
This was a fast, fun read that I didn’t want to end!

Jamie Donovan is the fun guy in the family, cracking jokes, charming women, and never taking anything too seriously. Imagine the wake-up call when he finds a baby boy on his doorstep with a note saying it's his child so he needs to take care of the baby for the foreseeable future. Playboy ways and second-nature flirting suddenly take a back seat to full-fledged panic.
Fallon Murphy's family has been friends with the Donovans since she was a child. She's BFFs with one of their daughters and mortal enemies with one of their sons, and she and Jamie have been at each other’s throats since they were kids. Now that Fallon is back home and out of work, she becomes the perfect candidate, okay, the only candidate, to help Jamie with little Asher. How fitting, since she's the one woman on the entire planet who his flirtatious charm has no effect on.
There's something to that saying about keeping your enemies closer, especially when all that animosity is probably covering up deeper feelings that nobody is willing to admit. Jamie and Fallon put their bickering aside in short order, united together in caring for Asher and doing what's best for the tiny human.
Okay, I knew Jamie's story would have to be epic, but I never anticipated this! With plenty of laughs and a bit of angst, it's the soulful heart that carries this phenomenal romance. Enemies become anything but, family rallies together in support, and Jamie and Fallon both learn a lot about themselves while navigating their road to forever. **ARC REVIEW**
I have not read a Samantha Chase book in years but I loved getting thrown back into her world of writing! I love a good small town romance and this book did not disappoint!

I have not read a Samantha Chase book in years but I loved getting thrown back into her world of writing! I love a good small town romance and this book did not disappoint!

Charm Me continues Samantha Chase’s series about the Donovan family. With his parents on a long vacation, Jamie is thrilled to actually finally be in charge of the family’s pub. He has great plans for change never realizing that it’s his life that is about to change when the last girl he was involved with leaves a three week old baby on his doorstep with a note saying Asher is his. Then his sister calls the last person he could ever consider helpful to come assist…his old nemesis Fallon. This story is a little more serious and complicated than those that preceded it as Jaime and Fallon have a long history of competition and verbal put downs. This reader loved watching Jamie’s emotional growth as he bonded with his child and finally came to terms with what was truly important. And just because his matchmaking mother was out of town, series fans know that his siblings will be picking up Kate’s mantle. This is a delightful story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

But then he gets a surprise that he is a father to a new born baby by his ex. Fallon has just lost her job and returns to her hometown. Fallon ends up helping Jamie by being a Nanny for the baby. This puts them to working closely together and starts their story.

Four and a half stars
Jamie Donovan and Fallon Murphy have been butting heads a long time. Decades, in fact. CHARM ME is the fourth in Samantha Chase’s Donovan family series, and in this book, charmer Jamie has absolutely come face to face with the situation and person he can’t actually charm.
Samantha Chase brings Jamie and his loving if sometimes intrusive family to life, and Fallon ends up in the middle of all this as she’s trying to find her own best way forward. They realize relatively quickly that after years of antagonism, they actually get along relatively well and work together to help care for the truly innocent little Asher, Jamie’s baby son.
Jamie definitely has some far from stellar moments along the way, but ultimately he manages to get his priorities straight and find a way to take care of those he loves. Fallon comes into her own as well, and I also appreciated that Asher’s mom isn’t villainized, and that she is written compassionately.
A good addition to the series.

Samantha Chase is one of my queens of small town romance. This series is a prime example of that. I love the Donovan family and all the personalities that are part of it. Jamie has been the carefree brother of the tribe but this is his story so it’s his time to shine.
I adore Jamie’s charm. He can talk his way out of a paper bag until he can’t.
Fallon Murphy is the last person Jamie would ask for help. That’s why his sister does it for him. Jamie doesn’t know the first things about babies and Fallon literally has college degrees on how to take care of them. The fact that Fallon and Jamie have never gotten along makes for an interesting dynamic. I loved how much Jamie changed in this book. His priorities are shifted so much that I’m not sure he understood how much at first. Fallon is a bit lost in the beginning of this one and her development was just as fascinating. Their relationship grows right along with them. Putting this book down was so difficult and I must admit that I stayed up way too late reading.

Another sweet story by Samantha Chase! This one had all of the cute tropes I love. Small town, single dad, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and of course a dual POV with a HEA! I enjoyed Fallon's character and how her relationship with Jamie grew. A cute easy read.

Samantha Chase has done it again! I absolutely loved Charm Me, the fifth book in her The Donovans series! I can truly say that Charm Me is an incredible love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and it was impossible to put it down. I loved every moment on every page. Samantha Chase continues to deliver the incredibly written love stories that I LOVE to read. I love this enemies to lovers love story, the Laurel Bay, Maine setting, and the amazing characters, they feel like family! Samantha Chase does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Charm Me and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about and expect from her books. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, big loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? One of my favorite parts is how Samantha Chase incorporates the title of the book and the picture on the cover into the love story. I love how Samantha develops her characters in such a way that you fall in love with them and care about them much like a good friend. I love how Samantha Chase always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. I am not sure how she does it, but Samantha Chase has once again given her readers another remarkable book. Charm Me is filled with all the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments and plot twists that I have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, I especially loved the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Samantha Chase continues to prove that she is an incredible storyteller. I love that she writes her stories from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. My favorite moments in Charm Me are the lighter moments where I found myself smiling and laughing aloud. I also love the parts that pull at my heartstrings and cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Charm Me is filled with such moments and so much more. Charm Me is an enemies to lovers love story between Jamie Donovan, manager at Donovans, the family’s restaurant and Fallon Murphy, his childhood nemesis. Fallon has returned home to Laurel Bay following her most recent firing. Her parents and the Donovans’ parents are on a cross country vacation which includes an Alaskan cruise. The Donovans have left Jamie in charge of the family restaurant. Jamie’s last girlfriend, Jenn Randall, has been reaching out to him and he has yet to respond to her. A special delivery is left at the door of the rental home where Jamie lives. Jamie discovers an unexpected surprise, a newborn baby boy with a note from Jenn, informing him that Asher is his son and he is ten days old and that she needs to get away for the next three weeks. Jamie immediately calls a family meeting, and then Ryleigh reaches out to Fallon for help. Fallon agrees to be Asher’s nanny for the next three weeks while she seeks out new job opportunities. Fallon establishes a routine for Asher that she expects Jamie to abide to when she is not around. Conversation between Fallon and Jamie flows so easily, and I love how they reminisce about their childhood rivalries and challenges. I love the chemistry between them, and how they bond over their mutual love for Asher. I love that Fallon and Jamie spend time together taking care of Asher and their relationship changes. Fallon begins staying overnight to help Jamie with the overnight feedings. Fallon eventually ends up spending the nights in Jamie’s bed. Jamie pursued legal counsel to determine his parental rights since Jenn abandoned Asher. I love that with Ryleigh’s encouragement and help from Jamie’s brother, Patrick, Fallon discovers her next career opportunity. Jenn’s return and her heart-to-heart conversation with Jamie leads to an unexpected plot twist that puts Fallon and Jamie’s relationship in jeopardy, and once again changes things between them. I love the changes that Jamie is willing to make to do what is best for Asher. I love that Jamie seeks out help from his sisters and Tessa to get back with Fallon. I love the heart-to-heart conversations that Fallon has with her mom, and that Jamie decides to approach his parents alone to apprise them that they are grandparents, I loved Kate and Shane’s reaction. I was so happy that Jamie and Fallon finally admitted their true feelings for one another. Another favorite part is the epilogue and the happily ever after, I loved Jamie’s proposal and the location of his proposal. I love all the changes that Jamie and Fallon make in their lives to have a future with one another and to be able to coparent Asher with Jenn. Charm Me was an amazing love story; I am so glad that Jamie and Fallon got the happily ever after. I loved all the surprises that filled the pages of this love story. I love all the characters in this series. I enjoy all the interactions among the Donovan siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing and the descriptions of the Laurel Bay in Charm Me. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I loved every moment. I cannot wait to read the next books in the series, especially since the identity of the Donovan sibling was revealed. Highly recommend this beautifully written love story.

This is my least favorite book in the series. Jamie is immature and not very likable. I wanted to like him - I really did - but he just didn't have too many redeeming qualities. This was a DNF for me. I gave it my best shot, but just couldn't relate to the characters, the storyline, or the writing TBH. This doesn’t always help when it comes to his family, who thinks that he doesn’t take things seriously. Jaime is used to people underestimating him, so when his parents leave town with their best friends for a short vacation, he is put in charge of his family’s pub. I throughly enjoyed reading this slow burn romance between Jamie and Fallon. Chase did a great job developing the characters, making them relatable to read. The story itself is charming and cute. We get to know each character separately and how they slowly develop feelings for one another. There are ups and downs that they need to go through and we see them lean on each other as well. Overall, the ending was sweet and truly worked out for them. I would highly recommend checking out this story! :)

Charm Me by Samantha Chase, is the fourth book in The Donovans Series, Jamie Donovan is the life of the party, he is funny, charming, this together with his physique make him a full-fledged playboy, but suddenly his life is going to change when he finds a baby at his door with a note saying that is his son and he must take care of him. This leads him to seek help, because what does he know about babies, that is when he will end up finding that help in Fallon Murphy, this beautiful girl who has been the best friend of one of his sisters and although they have never gotten along, the fact that Fallon is back home and jobless, and more importantly that she's the only one who has never fallen prey to his playboy charms, make her the perfect candidate to help him with little Asher. Once Jamie and Fallon put their bickering aside to care for Asher and do what's best for the little one, their relationship begins to evolve and true feelings begin to emerge.
This story is sweet, charming, it is filled with lots of laughter and a bit of anguish, with a family that supports and helps, with some special characters, who end up becoming better thanks to each other. Definitely a story that catches you and leaves your heart in love, I fully recommend it!

I’ve read and liked all of The Donovan’s series by Samantha Chase. The latest, Charm me, is about my least favorite Donovan. Jamie is a man-child and a player. He is the guy who gets by on his smile, personality and charm. It works for his as he helps run his family Pub with his dad and uncle. But he’s the kind of guy that never takes on any other responsibility. He is stunned when a surprise baby, his son Asher, is left on his doorstep with a note. His parents are on a cross country trip and cruise so he calls all his siblings to rally for help. His sister Riley brings in Fallon Murphy who is returning home after losing her job. She has the education and skills to help care for Asher and teach Jamie about babies and schedules. It will also give her a pay while she is looking for a new job for herself. The biggest obstacle is Jamie considers her a nemesis of his childhood because she out raced him on a bike or climbed a tree faster. But he has no choice but to accept her help.
Usually in frenemy romances both are involved in the past rivalry, but in this case it is only Jamie that holds onto to these childhood grudges and one upping. Fallon doesn’t remember the bike race or tree climb. She just knows he was always trying to provoke her. That makes him a bully and not charming. Jamie comes off immature during most of the book. He is prone to outbursts and then uses his charm to get past things. I credit the author for recognizing one of the very icky things about their situation. As they move on to intimacy and a physical relationship he is literally paying her while they are sleeping together. I can understand that they can start up romantically quickly because they have know each other their whole lives. And I’m usually a fan of heat on the page. But throwing that on top of a surprise baby and a mother that will be returning it doesn’t seem the smartest choices. I like that Fallon is smart and caring but she doesn’t get as much depth as some of the previous mains in the series.
I enjoyed seeing the rest of the family especially Riley. But overall this wasn’t my favorite book in the series. I think my dislike of Jamie is hard to overcome. His arguing at the end that Fallon is as much to blame for their split because she didn’t stay and fight for their relationship is ridiculous and not balancing. To me that was immaturity again, spreading blame instead of accepting that his reaction and actions were over the top. The ending save the story enough.
I’m looking forward to the next book and hope I enjoy Patrick’s romance more. And I like that Carly Robins continues to provide narration to the books in the series.

I am so in love with the Donovan’s. The closeness they share with each other is incredible. It only takes a phone call and they will literally drop everything and come to help. They are not afraid of tough love either. They will speak their minds even if you don’t want to hear it.
Fallon and Jamie have been rivals since they were five years old and she beat him in a bike race and has continued until now. Their families have always been close. So when Fallon received that phone call from Ryleigh she came without a second thought. Maybe she should have asked who she would be helping. LOL But when people you care about and the cutest little baby boy need help you put your differences aside and offer your help. The more time Fallon spent with Jamie the more she saw how much he changed from the playboy to the doting and responsible father to Asher. She started thinking of the three of them as a family. When she came back home she didn’t have a clue where her life was headed, Unemployed and no job opportunities in sight. Agreeing to become Asher’s nanny gave her a purpose. Made her open herself up. Instead of being unapproachable and unable to work with others she was totally different now.
Sometimes things happen in life we don’t understand. Things we must go through to get to where we are. Maybe those jobs she lost were supposed to happen to lead her home where she belonged and she found her happily ever after.
For Jamie he never planned on becoming a dad so early in his life and falling in love with his childhood rival. But fate had a different plan for him. One he never saw coming but the best thing that ever happened to him.
Fallon and Jamie have been rivals since they were five years old and she beat him in a bike race and has continued until now. Their families have always been close. So when Fallon received that phone call from Ryleigh she came without a second thought. Maybe she should have asked who she would be helping. LOL But when people you care about and the cutest little baby boy need help you put your differences aside and offer your help. This is the fourth book in the series, and I would definitely recommend that you read them all and in order, but if you are impatient to read this one, then you could always go back later and get more insight into the family dynamics.
Jamie has what is now a somewhat unfair reputation of being a player – one with manners and honesty, but still not one to settle down. Recently that has gotten old, but he hasn't found a reason to argue about it, he is too invested in showing his parents that he can do a good job of running the family pub whilst they go on an extended holiday.
Just as it seems that he has everything under control, a baby is left on his doorstep and all carefully laid plans are blown to the wind. His siblings all gather round to help, and their solution is to find a nanny. As it happens, their long-time friend (and his nemesis) Fallon is home after losing a job in early years administration – so should be a perfect fit... except for the nemesis bit!
Watching these two people work together for the good of the baby, but avoid each other at the same time is entertaining and it feels inevitable that they will realise that the distance between love and hate is short. What I really liked about this book, though, is that it then deals much more carefully with the issues of why the mum left her child, and how things should be going forward. This, for me, was done really well, and reminds us all not to judge without all the facts.
A lovely mixture of really funny moments, as well as poignant and loving ones. Another good read in this series, thank you!

I LOVE Samantha Chase - and I LOVE the Donovans series! WOW! Another absolutely brilliant release, and I can't believe she's written each book even better than the previous. I just love every book she puts out more than the last, and I can't wait to devour her words every time I see mention that she has another one coming. I'm so in awe of this gal, and I'm smitten with all her book series, but most especially the Donovans. If you haven't read any of Chase's books, please pick up this series (from the start - Dare Me). You will love them all!
Charm Me, the latest addition, follows youngest brother Jamie. He's the charmer of the family (hence the title). His older brothers are the serious ones, the military man and the realtor trying to take over the town. He's working at his parent's pub and has a new girl on his arm every night... which has now come back to haunt him. A girl from last year has been trying to get in touch with him for months, but he's been blowing her off, ignoring her calls, until one day, a car drives away from his house after ringing the bell - but there's a tiny little bundle of crying joy on the step. His bundle of joy, and she's taken off with a note that says she has to go take care of herself, and will be back in a couple of months, but this is his son, who is 10 days old.
Jamie calls in the troops - his siblings, who have no clue what to do since no one else has kids either. His one sister has a brilliant plan ... to call in Jamie's long-time nemesis, because Fallon has advance degrees in childhood development and education. What could go wrong with this plan! Their parents are best friends and they've all known her since as far back as they can remember. Too bad they've had a rivalry since they were in kindergarten and she beat him in a bicycle race. Everyone would love it if they wound up together - except them.
I adore Chase's writing style, the banter and chemistry she always has between the characters, and just the right amount of steam. It's absolute perfection! I couldn't ask for anything better. I completely and totally recommend this book to everyone (you could get away with reading this as a standalone, but why miss out on the other sibling's stories!).
The audio for this series is the way to go - they're all read by one of my very favourite ladies, Carly Robins. You should definitely listen to this one. She does a fantastic job!

OMG!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!!!!
Charm Me is the 4th book in Samantha Chase’s The Donovan’s series. This whole series is phenomenal, and I have loved every book thus far!! I have to say with true honesty, Charm me has taken over top spot for me in this series.
I have to put this out there first, in all honesty, there was something about Jamie Donovan from the previous books I did not know if I truly liked. He was just too flippant, too immature, in my opinion. Yes, I SHOULD have known Ms. Chase would have changed my opinion and would have made Jamie just as lovable as the rest of the Donovan characters, and she most definitely did, in a huge way.
We met the heroine Fallon Murphy in previous books in the Donovan series. The competition between Fallon and Jamie while growing up, WOW!! I have to say, I knew she was going to be Jamie’s downfall in love.
I LOVED watching both characters grow into the people they were meant to be in this book. Fallon took to hits to the ego in the beginning of this book, making her doubt and question herself. When Jamie found newborn Asher on his doorstep… Yeah, there was no way in heaven he was equipped to take care of a baby. Enter the rest of the Donovan clan. I was so proud of Jamie and Fallon, watching them grow into the people they were meant to be.
Because of my love of reading romance, I was gifted with a copy of this phenomenal book for my thoughts and opinions. As I stated above, Charm Me is a phenomenal book and has become my favorite in the series. I loved this book so much I bought the Audible version of it as well. And YES, I have already listened to it!!!
Carly Robins performed the narration of this book, she did a stellar job bringing this book to life for me. While I was listening, I could “see” in my mind each and every scene. Kudos Ms. Robins!!

Jamie is used to getting by on his charm and living spontaneously, but that all changes when a baby appears on his doorstep. To make the situation more complicated, the only person available to help him is Fallon, the girl he has fought with since age 5. She agrees to help with baby Asher temporarily as a favor to Ryleigh Donovan, since she’s unemployed again. As Fallon and Jamie spend time together, they begin to see each other differently, and definite chemistry emerges. Is their connection destined to last, or was it influenced by a desperate situation and forced proximity?
I love the dynamics of a small town family saga series, and Jamie’s predicament created the perfect storm for the Donovan siblings to pull together and shower him with that unconditional support that few are lucky enough to have but everyone dreams of. I was drawn in by how relatable the characters were, and the witty banter and simmering chemistry kept me riveted to the pages. One thing I enjoy about this author is that while the romance and connection is there without over the top steamy scenes, but I don’t miss them as I normally would. This book is about more than that—it’s about two people finding themselves again while truly getting to know each other without all the snark and bickering. It’s about family, and the different ways they come to be. Yes, there was drama, and angst, and I even teared up on Fallon’s behalf, but there was so much sweetness in this book. Even when the twist came that dealt with a heavy, emotional topic, it was written so well. The characters’ different responses to it felt authentic. Charm Me was definitely another successful installment for the Donovans series, and I can’t wait for Patrick’s story!

Jaime may not be ready to settle down but he is ready to take charge of his life and show his family that he's ready to take over the family pub. Finding out that he has a newborn son that his ex left on his doorstep wasn't part of his plan, neither is hiring his nemesis to help out. Fallon is back in town after being fired from her last two jobs. Her knowledge of early childhood makes her a good fit to help Jaime out.
Jamie's character development stood out. At first, I wasn't sure about him, even though he was trying to prove that he could take charge of the family's business for the first few chapters he felt a little flighty and immature. Boy, did that change. I enjoyed seeing him learn to be a dad to a newborn.
Early childhood is my heart. I always love a book with a character in the field of early childhood education. I liked that Fallon's background was connected to higher education. She was sometimes a little controlling. It was easy to see how she struggled to work with others at times. I would have liked to explore more of her back story. I felt the book focused more on Jaime.
This is a sweet romance with lots of adorable baby snuggles that give all the feels. Jaime with baby Asher is definitely swoonworthy.
It's an easy, light read that focuses on family and relationships. The romance is perfectly mixed in and the relationship develops naturally. There is plenty of steam but fades-to-black. Which is perfect when you want a steamy read but don't need all the details.
The pacing flowed well, nothing felt too fast or too slow. It was entertaining and a quick read that kept my attention. I enjoyed Jamie's growth as a dad and appreciated the insight into Asher’s mom and the reason she left.
