Again, stunning book, awful biography. Marilyn Monroe's story is tragic and her personality was beautiful. I'd say 80% of this book are quotes from movie reviews at the time that focus entirely on how good her body looked. There's zero mention of her groundbreaking friendship with Ella Fitzgerald, her charity work, anything of value. Since Marilyn is one of the most recognizable people in the world, I'm sure I'll be able to find a better biography of hers that also has fantastic photos (I'm continuing my collection of coffee-table books, even if I don't have a coffee table), and when I find that, I'll get rid of this one.
