I never dreamed of being a writer when I was in elementary school. My desire was to be a singer and to be a guest performer on Soul Train (keep in mind, this is 1979-1980). Throughout elementary school, my extracurricular activities were reading (which I was an avid reader) and singing. I would try to write when I was nine but because what I wrote made no sense I chose not to dwell on it. A few years later, a family member was so focused on being a rapper; he encouraged me to write as he would write songs. When I look back at that period of my life (1986-1987), Hip Hop was starting to get vulgar and I tried to blend in. After a while, I stopped using vulgarity and shortly after, a classmate in high school introduced me to poetry. After writing this one poem with this classmate (in 1991), I embraced the concept of poetry. I didn’t know that God was going to use me to write poetry that would eventually be the making of these books. I was writing what was in my heart at that particular moment in my life while avoiding the idea of writing a book. After taking a long hiatus from writing, I started writing again. When I started writing again (this is now 2004/2005), two sisters in Christ prophetically spoke these words to me: “I have a vision. You will write something that will change someone's life, or even be quoted till the end of time.” Again, I didn’t think anything of it, even though numerous people encouraged me to put a book together. I was focused on writing to be a blessing to someone. In 2009, I released my first book which has now pushed me into prophetic destiny. I encourage you to pursue your passion and talent for His glory, and you too will be pushed into prophetic destiny. Many lives have already been blessed through the poetry God has given me to write. I pray that you open your heart to His Spirit and that you will allow Him to minister to you. Finally, I pray that you are blessed, highly favored & empowered to prosper under His hand.
Vol 2: Take it from Her, Tremayne Moore touches on many controversial topics that women undergo such as varied abuses, con-men who portray to be the perfect gentlemen but are convicts, and women feeling worthless, not knowing how valuable and worthy they truly are. Women need to uphold the jewels of which men are seeking to treat like rubbish and tarnish, or make her shine. Not sure if his editor played a part in this edition of the poetry series (or the author alone), but creatively each section was a "room." My favorite room(s) was "Boardroom" and know that "I Need Balance"--so me, God and my ministry, is so important. I also know that even though I am not married with children yet, I strongly believe that I will be grateful and will dearly love both...my dad so truly wanted and loved his family even when things didn't work out...I know in my spirit I will be the same way about mines! :) Then I got to the "Delivery Room" and embraced the first poem: "Dream Again" which spoke to me so dearly. I believe in my concept God gave me years ago: Dream4More and then created the Dream Experience Series which highly recommends to dream again! Pursue the Dream. Make it a reality. In this section (Deliver Room), also enjoyed all three of the poems altogether, and felt m dream leap inside of me as a tear rolled down my eye after re-reading it aloud was the poem entitled "Pregnant is my Name" especially when you know you have purpose and live it out on purpose. This poem here sang my name, rang my destiny, and bangs my symphony of treasured gifts still waiting to give birth and spring forth from inside of me! 8 rooms, but favorite of them all is Delivery Room and second is Board Room. 4 stars.
It was such a breath of fresh air to read the poetry of Tremayne Moore. “Take It from Her: Cautionary Lessons for the Ladies We Love” makes it quite obvious that Moore has taken the time to really try to understand the male/female relationship and to see things from a woman’s point of view. It is short book, with only 74 pages, but it does take time to process because each poem gives you something to think about. Moore truly has a gift for writing and I cannot wait to read his upcoming debut novel.
Tremayne Moore's Take It From Her did not disappoint. Just how in the world does he know what makes women tick? It's like he had a V.I.P. pass to our deepest and most intimate conversations about how we think, feel and react in certain situations. The poetry was honest, focused-driven and thought-provoking. I applaud Mr. Moore for taking the time to understand and write about issues that affect women alike.
