About the author

David Hatcher Childress (born 1957) is an American author and publisher of books on topics in alternative history and historical revisionism. His works often cover such subjects as pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact, the Knights Templar, lost cities and vimana aircraft. Despite his public involvement in the general field of study, Childress claims to have no academic credentials as a professional archaeologist.

Born in France, and raised in Colorado, Childress began his world travels at age nineteen in pursuit of his archaeological interests. In 1983 Childress relocated to Stelle, Illinois, a community founded by New Age writer Richard Kieninger, after Childress was given a book authored by Kieninger while touring Africa. Childress chronicled his explorations in his Lost Cities and Ancient Mysteries series of books, whose core concepts were influenced by the ideas of Kieninger.

While residing in Stelle, Childress began self publishing his own works and later other authors, which focus on presenting fringe scientific theories regarding ancient civilizations and little-known technologies, as well as establishing a travel business in partnership with Kieninger. In 1991, in the nearby town of Kempton, Illinois, Childress, along with historian and linguist Carl W. Hart, founded the World Explorers Club, a group that often travels to the places he writes about, and an affiliated magazine, World Explorer.

David Hatcher Childress has appeared on several television programs on NBC ("The Mysterious Origins of Man"), Fox Network (Sightings and Encounters), Discovery Channel, A&E, The History Channel, as a commentator on subjects such as the Bermuda Triangle, Atlantis, and UFOs.

Childress has been involved in two lawsuits regarding his publishing activities, one of which failed due to the expiry of a statute of limitations and the other, involving his company's publication of a master's thesis without permission, which was settled out of court.

Extraterrestrial Archaeology by David Hatcher Childress is an absolutely fascinating read that deserves all five stars. The book delves into the mysteries of ancient structures and artifacts with a focus on possible extraterrestrial connections. Childress’s engaging writing style and well-researched content make it a captivating journey into the unknown. I particularly enjoyed how he challenges conventional history and brings a fresh perspective to archaeological discoveries. The blend of science, speculation, and historical intrigue kept me hooked from start to finish.

I was extremely disappointed, the complete title of this book is 'Extraterrestrial Archeology: Incredible proof we are not alone;' yet, the proof is indeed refuteable. The author includes things on the moon, some noted from the 19th century, others with not enough to proof that they could actually be considered proof. He continues with evidence from other planets. There are photos that are supposedly the areas of either the moon or another planet in question, but to me, they all look the same. There just wasn't enough evidence provided to claim proof we are not alone!

This book was extremely exciting and came up with some brilliant photos and drawings. The author features the mysterious Moon, so many puzzles, its mysterious structures, the crack, signs and monuments... is there someone else on the Moon? Then tDavid has a look on the Mars and the search for life on this planet (lines, faces, pyramids). Later on he speaks about mysteries on Venus and Mercury. Were there ancient space bases on the outer Moon? Everyone interested in all those speculations should have a look into this book. The author sums up all kind of fantastic theories in his book and tries to find evidence for alternative science. I was absolutely taken by the book, the jaw dropping photos and its spectacular insight. Highly recommended!

Heavily padded with irrelevant public domain material and illustrated with indecipherable photos, this is the only Childress book I have seen which is truly a waste of time and money. The best thing about it is the nifty pulp magazine cover. Give it a pass.

Very very pulpy. Skimmed the last two chapters.

Too many grainy photos and very unconvincing arguments.
