This is one of those books that I'm torn on. I never really got why Amara fell so hard for Marco after he kidnapped her and held her hostage. Which is weird since some of my favorite books use that particular plot device and I'm usually all WHOO-HOO! SEXY KIDNAPPING WITH HOT A HOT GUY WHO CAN'T KEEP HIS HANDS TO HIMSELF! but this time I was just kinda meh about it.

Let's try to figure this out, shall we... Amara wasn't overly annoying, so she wasn't the issue. Sure, she lets herself get pushed around and the men in her life treat her appallingly but she didn't grate on my nerves or anything. I was more annoyed by the way no one ... and I do mean NO ONE ... would give her a straight answer on what was happening to her. I mean, please! You kidnapped the lady, the least you can do is try to explain to her why she's suddenly lost her appetite and is having dizzy spells. Yet everyone, from Marco to Marco's brother (and, wow, they have a weird relationship, don't they?) to Marco's BFF are all... "Oh, I'm sure you're just fine. It's nothing to fret over. You'll snap out of this in a day or two." And I'm all... "WHY WON'T YOU PEOPLE TALK TO HER?!?!?!" Yes, I yelled it in my head. And punctuated loudly when I did it.

Now, Marco might have been the teeny-tiniest bit immature. He has very little impulse control and he's a little bit selfish and he's not really forthcoming with the answers Amara needs (I keep coming back to that, don't I? Maybe that's what caused my emotional disconnect. Hmm.) and, OH YEAH!, he freaking kidnapped her and held her hostage. So, no, maturity isn't Marco's middle name.

I guess it comes down to the fact that I didn't really feel the connection between the two of them. Amara fell into his bed mighty easily and it didn't seem to faze her in the least that he was a vampire. Marco was willfully blind to the problems he was causing her and he kept telling himself that he should walk away but by the time he did he ended up leaving her in a very bad emotional and physical place.

Admittedly, the sex was hot, but in this case it wasn't enough for me.

When a bubble blonde is kidnapped by a real vampire for playing a vampire in a series of movies that make her almost-famous, she develops Stockholm Syndrome and they end up having a great time. What an outrageous premise! Fortunately, the author carries it off, particularly since the first half of the book is written with campy humor, whether intentional or not. I enjoyed this book and will look out for the rest of the series.

When a vampire makes a fool out of himself, it kind of makes the rest of us feel a little better about our own faults.

Amara was really having a bad time of it. No sooner than the Hollywood actress who plays a bimbo vampire finds out that her movie series is going hardcore which she refuses; she finds out that her finacee/co star has been cheating on her with men and women. Oh can it get any worse? Dispondant that she hasn't found another acting job yet, she is kidnapped by a vampire who has inexplicably been obssessed with her. Wanting to teach her a lesson in what real vampires are like, Marco found himself losing his temper and replaced with attraction. Heated attraction. Funny enough, Amara feels the same way.

This was a fun story with some very hot scenes in it which I loved. I did find Marco brood a bit which is always a downer for me; I love vamps that are proud of who they are. The dialogue was good, but I would have liked the story to have expanded a little bit. Overall this was a fun and very steamy read.

I got MIDNIGHT free on my nook and after reading it….I’m glad it was free. I probably will not be buying any of the others in the series.

Was the story bad? It certainly wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read, but it was certainly underdeveloped and had a simple plot.

400 year old vampire Marco has become fixated Hollywood actress Amara Daniels, but not at first in a good way. Amara plays a bubbly blood vampire on one of Hollywood’s most famous movies and he’s determined to teach her a lesson on real vampires.

This kidnapping certainly comes at a bad time in Amara’s life because she just got fired from said acting job for not being willing to go all the way on the set, watched a video of her fiancée with not one but multiple other women, then found him in bed with their male neighbor from next door…..2 months later she’s still looking for a job and she’s taken.

At first they are very hostile towards each other, but rather quickly the attraction they both feel takes over. During their heavy sessions, she bites his lips, drawing blood which soon begins showing side effects. He of course is feeding from her, creating bliss between them. Marco feels she could be the one, for their connection is deep.

Amara also begins learning more about Marco and the vampire race; however when Marco brings in a vampire doctor because her symptoms haven’t gone away even after he sent her back to her own life, what they suspect could devastate the fragile relationship Marco is trying to save.

When he’s left with no other choice, he describes how turning into a vampire is more like a virus than biting and changing them through transfusion. A small drop can mutate a human’s genes if their immune system is low enough. Putting it all together, her immune system was continuously low from his bites and she took in some of his blood.

Getting her to accept her transformation is relatively easy. With their bond, he’s able to relax her with the knowledge of their love. They’ve both found everlasting love now.

Amara Daniels is a movie actress who portrays a ditzy blond vampire. When she refuses to wear more revealing outsits during shooting of the show she gets fired. When she arrives at home she finds her boyfriend in bed with another guy. To make matters worse she cannot find another job and the tabloids declare her dead.
Marco goes to Amara's place because he cannot believe she is dead. When he finds her at home he impulsively deceides to kidnap her. Amara can't believe she got kidnapped by some lunatic who believes he is a vampire. After a while she feels drawn to Marco because she can be herself and he does not judge her. She also comes to accept that he really is a vampire, after all he has the retracting fangs.
The sex was pretty steamy in this book but the story was kind of bizarre.

Amara´s a star from vampire movies when she in one day loses both her well payed job and her fiancée. Trying to come back from this is harder than she thought when no one seems interested in giving her a new roll in any movie. Not sure what step to take next, she starts to feel like someone is following her and one day there´s a big hunk of a man at her door, trying to convince her that vampires do exist.
Abduction, a male who doesn´t really know how to express himself without using his size or force and a woman who needs change and finds it in a place she never would have thought of. Smutty fluff and un-fluffy vamps.

Cute. So H kidnaps h on impulse, h falls in love with him, H returns her home, and figures out they can't live without each other. That he's a vampire and she inadvertently turned herself is a minor detail - or is it? Since he seemed to be in de nile when he sent her home, she had no idea she was turning. Bad move there.

Thanfully short, but maybe the problem was, too short. There were moments of promise, but there was little resolution to questions that came up throughout. This is the first book in a series and this book serves as more an introduction to characters that will come later, than a good novel that could stand on its own merits.

2.5 stars.

I had a really tough time with this one because I feel the two main characters could use some developing. I was just indifferent to them. The story was good and the writing was fine I was just missing that connection.

3 stars when I normally would have given 4 but, the use if a certain word (just makes my skin crawl) way too much brought my rating down. Good, quick read. Nice for a kindle freebie.
