I have to admit, a great deal of research accompanied the writing of this book; enough to make me wonder if the writer's actually have a point. During the early years of this century, I was involved with individuals who were angered because the government allowed them to work in environments condusive to a variety of cancers without disclosing the facts to them. While I understood their frustration, I was one of the lucky 'human radiation experiments' that survived. In the process, I found court transcripts indicating that the government was forced to acknowledge the existence of 'Area 51;' and I began to wonder what ever happeden to all of the UFO sightings of my youth. According to the autors; the UFO sightings of the mid 1940's to the late 1950's were simply a continuation of WWII Nazi technology, etc.
This book is filled with photos, drawings, primary saurces and of course actual UFO sightings. Whether or not the book abounds in full disclosure or partial truths, it is definately one of those things that make you go hmmmm....
ARE UFOS ACTUALLY MADE COVERTLY BY HUMAN GOVERNMENTS?
Co-author Renato Vesco wrote in the Preface to this 1994 book, “‘Intercept---but don’t shoot!’ Ever since the United States Air Force … issued this order in 1948, American pilots have been mockingly defied by the UFOs… that frequently invade the air space of the United States as though on peaceful missions of exploration. Why hasn’t the Air Force authorized its pilots to shoot the mysterious invaders down? Fear of extraterrestrial reprisal? Diplomatic protests from the ‘unknown’ power that possesses the biggest secret of our times? Technological awe dictated by ignorance? Or, finally, deliberate deceit dictated by circumstances? These questions are conclusively answered in this book…
“It is high time that the UFOs… take their place somewhere between current events and history. And it is high time, too, that ufology… be unmasked… We are forced to just one conclusion… the information brought together in the present volume---some of which appears in print for the first time---takes on meaning and value only if arranged according to a rigorously pre-established scheme that leads to one predetermined conclusions and only to that… We will. Then, eschew the inconclusive ravings of ufologists and come down to verifiable facts. For the moment we will confine ourselves to revealing HOW the idea of building airships of such unusual structure was born and to giving precise particulars about WHO is building them and to establishing the place WHERE they take off on their flights, flights that concern the entire world.”
They note, “One does not know whether to believe the Air Force’s top-ranking officers when they repeatedly profess their ignorance of JFO matters. It is certain, however… that at the beginning Project Blue Book did not deviate a fraction of an inch from the policy directives that had shaped the previous fruitless military inquiries… [of] the anxious routine question: ‘Could the Russians have further developed these ideas?’ ‘No,’ they were reassuringly answered in each instance. ‘At present there is no possibility of making flying machines that can maneuver in the air like the UFOs.’ The Air Force’s Aeromedical Laboratory added the weight of its authoritative opinion: ‘If piloted aircraft of this sort were constructed, the human body would not be able to withstand the violent accelerations reported by various witnesses.’” (Pg. 62-63)
After recounting some British aircraft speed records, etc., they ask, “in view of the well-known English technical competence---how can an increase of 142 miles per hour, spread out over eight years, be calmly passed off as ‘fantastic speeds’? And how explain the references to altitudes of ‘over 50,000 feet,’ where these mysterious planes would achieve their maximum speeds? At such altitudes the first turbojets lost power, and thereby speed, because of the thinness of the air. Clearly the British were neither lying nor indulging in uncharacteristic bragging. The new types of flying machines presaged such promising developments that they induced the authorities to swallow the bitter pill of the lost speed record silently in order to keep their secret intact.” (Pg. 221)
They summarize, “Are we to believe that extraterrestrials are continually modifying their craft as the advances in technology on their planet(s) over the past fifty years? Stan Deyo, author of ‘The Cosmic Conspiracy,’ points out that flying saucers from the 50s look exactly like a 50s-type of craft, while flying saucers of the 80s look like 80s type craft! Just as an automobile built in the last ten years looks more sleek, stylish and modern to an automobile, from the early 50s, so have flying saucers become more stylish, sleek, and ‘modern.’ Are we expected to believe that extraterrestrials are still defining the models, styles and technology of their ‘spacecraft’?” (Pg. 367)
They conclude, “The thesis of this book: 1. That many reported UFOs are actual ‘nuts & bolts’ craft made secretly on earth by humans… 3. Various alternative forms of energy generators were invented and researched before the [Second World] war, including Gyroscopic, Vortex and other ‘Anti-Gravity’ devices. 4. Actual discoid and tubular craft were built and tested towards the end of WW II. 5. As the Allied Powers closed in on Germany, the Third Reich used unorthodox anti-aircraft measures such as ‘Foo Fighters’ and other experimental craft. 6. A secret deal was made with elements of the Third Reich scientifical and intelligence establishment to absorb their technology, officers, and principal scientists… 8. The Americans, British, and Russians gained captured scientists and Space Technology, including rocket technology and discoid craft. 9. The Americans, British and Russians began to build [and] test discoid aircraft in the late 40s and 50s. Isolated German pockets in South America have intense UFO activity. Antarctic bases are probably vacated or captured by Americans and Russians. Today, a seven-story or more underground base run jointly by America and Russia exists at the South Pole. 10. UFOs are a Top Secret topic to all governments because they herald in the forbidden topics of Suppressed Technology, Oil Company Conspiracies and Energy Control, Extraterrestrials, Mind Control, and behind-the-scenes workings of the ‘Secret Government.’” (Pg. 370)
