Chole and Oshyn never really got along. They had two different life styles. Chole was a prostitute while Oshyn was a business women.Chole always hated on Oshyn and always wanted her life.
Oshyn was in a abusive relationship but always head her best friend Apples by her side.They both grew up like sisters and went through almost all of the same things in life.This book is full of hate,love,sex and crime.This is one of my favorite books.It keeps the reader wanting to read more.This book is crazy but lets the reader step in the life of two other people opposite from their own.

Wow! I rarely finish books in one day - even urban novellas, simply because I like to digest the events of the book but this one was different! This novel is eerie. The characters are well-developed, I didn't find Tiphani's characters as flat as the characters readers usually find I'm urban novellas. The plot was heavy, but somewhat typical. I didn't really like the ending, but I guess that's why there is a sequel. I recommend this novel to any avid readers of street lit & to anyone interested in street lit. Tiphani's Montgomery really impressed me with this novel & I cannot wait to start the sequel.

The Millionaire Mistress starts off about a young girl named Oshyn who is has bigger dreams than her current situation, which does not include Trent, the sexy older guy who has been trying to date her for some time. When she finally gives in and goes out with him the two become inseparable for a time, until it appears Trent has an insatiable sexual appetite and seeks comfort in everyone except Oshyn. Ultimately leaving her and their unborn child out in the cold. The story fast forwards a few years and picks up with Oshyn, now a single mom raising her son Micah and making a name for herself in North Carolina, after leaving everything behind to start a new life. If that wasn’t enough drama for you in the beginning, enter Oshyn’s gold-digging, don’t-give-a-damn, crazy cousin Chloe. Chloe is only interested in men with deep pockets and for her she lives true to the motto of “If don’t make dollars then it don’t make sense.”

This book was definitely filled with sex and down right excitement from the bloody catfights to the jealousy that was the pure driving force behind Chloe’s hatred for Oshyn. The author definitely kept you engrossed in the storyline because there was always some sort of chaos going on that was usually linked to Chloe. Chloe is truly an unhappy female and blames her cousin for all of her misfortune because of a painful family secret that can ultimately destroy everything.

Trying to be focused on her current life Oshyn doesn’t have time for romance until Brooklyn Jones, a handsome stranger who is indeed too good to be true, takes interest in her. For a short minute you would think she was on her way to a happily-ever-after life, but Chloe quickly takes this away as she does the unthinkable.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I was able to complete this book in a few hours and it held my attention. If you are looking for a quick read filled with mayhem, then A Millionaire Mistress is truly the book for you.

What did you like best about this book?
I liked that despite Oshyn’s troubles she still sought a better life for herself and son and was determined to make it no matter what.

What did you dislike about this book?
The fights were not realistic. It just seemed too good to be true that Oshyn could also be equipped with a box cutter slashing anyone who tried to talk to her man while always coming home unscathed, and only bruising be her heart. I also felt that Oshyn probably should have cut her ties with Chloe but she was trying to be loyal to the fact she was actually a relative only to find out she was much more than that.

How can the author improve this book?
I think the author could have given more family background on Oshyn and Chloe, more so in the beginning instead of in the middle because you wondered why Chloe truly disliked her cousin. Other than that I didn’t really see any major improvements to be made.

The Millionaire Mistress is a good first read stocked with drama, intensity, and love from new author, Tiphani Montgomery. Even though I found myself so caught up in the fast paced action of the pages, there was still a lot left unstated.

I had just finished reading The Prada Plan 2 when I came across this book on Amazon. At first the description made it seem ok, but I wasn't sure I wanted to buy it. After reading a few pages of it was hooked. In the beginning I was convinced it was going to be Oshyn's tale of becoming a high paid escort until Chloe was intriduced. I couldn't stand Chloe (much like Leah in TPP) and sometimes Oshyn made me mad too. When I finally got to the end I was angry that everyone supposedly "died" except Oshyn, Bella, and her new baby. I was really mad at Brooklyn for what he did because,he was the symbol of sexy :) And dont get me started on Apple's baby-daddy! That ninja was deranged and sick. Dont kno if i'll read the rest of the series though.

Whew, child, this was a messy, messy story. I got it on Audible and suffice it to say, I stopped there. Oshyn and Chloe were well... they were nightmares.

It was a very urban story and reminded me of why I moved away from folks like this and turned my head from the drama. No, ma'am. No, thank you, it is all I have to say.

It was entertaining for a moment, and the depth of the plot left many holes, but I'm not brave enough to finish the series. The brutality, the viciousness, and the absolute foolishness left me with a stain on my brain.

I was really feeling this book until about 75% in, then the book took some wrong turns. Not to ruin it for anyone, but the book went from being a page turner, to just weird. It went from being realistic to just plain ridiculous. I don't know if I want to continue with the series.

2.5 - This felt very rushed to me. If you look beneath the surface you can tell that the author has a story to tell and the capability to tell it. Off the top of my head I'm not sure if this was her first book but if it is I'm not surprised. I think Montgomery is one who will only get better with time.
There are some unanswered questions here and I don't mean the sort that are left to be answered in a sequel. I mean the sort that were just glanced over without really thinking about how it would affect the story.
There are a few parts that don't "belong". Or, if they do belong, they didn't fit properly. There should have been some leading up to and some after effects for the reader to grab onto.
One example that comes to mind is when Chloe is in the cemetary with Quon. I won't get into specifics because I don't like hiding my reviews but the ending of that one part is fairly dramatic and the next chapter (and the rest of the book) have no conclusion. We just simply don't get to know what happened.
It seemed to me that Montgomery wanted to make sure certain parts were put in and wasn't quite sure how to pull it off so she just brushed over it as much as possible.
I have a strong suspicion that the next two books will each be better than the last. And I think the same holds for the future. You couldn't call Montgomery untalented, that's for sure.
I'm not a big sequel fan but I hope the author took more time with the next two books in the series. I think if she did they'll be winners.
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot! I have a few more things to say. There were some editing issues. Nothing that isn't common to the genre and nothing that really interferes with the exception of a few instances. One paragraph has the following two mistakes in it: "...like he was starving at a Thanksgiving feast" and "before we even officially tied the night". Both should have been caught by an editor.
And lastly, my biggest problem. Any urban fiction reader has read the books with the fake Jamaican accents right? Well, I'm of the opinion that if an author is going to portray a character with an accent they should go about it in a natural way, a realistic way. Having the character say "ju" instead of "you" every single time can lead to suicide. Seriously. Just for fun, next time you read a paragraph turn every single 'you' into 'ju' and see what I mean. It was very amateurish. I can't give any advice, I'm no writer. But I am a reader and I can assure anyone that this is not the way to do it.

If You Start a Race, FINISH IT!

There's nothing worse than when someone starts something, it starts off good and strong and then....

I know. You were probably waiting on me to finish that sentence. Well that's how I felt when I got to the end of this book. I got to the end and wondered if my eyes were deceiving me. There must be some more pages. Maybe my copy was not complete. Uh...no. That's just the way it ended. Okay, so the premise of the book - you have two cousins, one good one bad, but they are both beautiful. The bad one is jealous of the good one, and the good one is oblivious. Good cousin gets the man, bad cousin wants him. Adding to the drama is the back story that their mothers had the same issue resulting in a tragic end. Will history repeat itself? Decent premise. The scene is set for some drama, some hateration, "oh no she didn't!" and a cat fight. Question is, what would Tiphani do with it?

"Millionaire Mistress" is an okay read at best. It had potential, but didn't come full circle. I liked the whole cousin rivalry, the differences in the two and the entrance of Brooklyn. Both cousins had it going on in their own rights and really had no reason to be stressing the other. I also liked the subplot of Apples. There were even a few twists that came at just the right time. What I did not like is that so much was left unsaid and unanswered. Ideas introduced and not completed. I wish the author had spent more time developing this story, given us some more insight on their mothers and more realistic outcomes. Gunshots and no police. Come on now; maybe in some parts but not in some of these locations. But my biggest complaint and what ultimately brings down the rating of this book is the ending. I don't even know if the word "rushed" accurately describes it. The ending appeared to be just thrown together and does not do this book any justice. Sure readers aren't going to always agree with an author's choice of an ending, but d*mn! I'm giving this book 3 stars on the strength of the beginning. And what did the title have to do with this book??? Who was the millionaire mistress? What millionaire?

Tiphani, a sister is not hating. Props to you for even putting your work out here for us to read, BUT with your future work, spend some more time creating a complete package from the cover (which was hot) to the title to the story itself; a story with a solid plot, developed characters, a good flow and consistency. That said, I wish you luck with your next novel.

Oshyn blacks out from the intensity of labor pains and when she regains consciousness, Trent leaves her with some bitter words before closing the curtains to end their stare off.
The next night, Trent was laid up with Chloe. Chloe Rodriguez, 19, is Oshyn’s first cousin. Not only had Trent been having an affair with Chloe, but they partake in the exciting activities of their relationship in Chloe’s grandma queen sized bed. Chloe was always the jealous, money-hungry, and scandalous first cousin that always wanted what Oshyn had. She envied Oshyn with a passion & she would stop at nothing to cause her pain at any chance she got. She decided that she would continue to screw Trent for two more years until the life insurance policy for her mother paid her.
Six years later, Chloe has received & spent nearly all the insurance policy money. She now must resort to being a mistress to wealthy men; entrepreneurs, ball players, dope boys, and executives, no one is off limits to her & her Jamaican friend Joy, who she met in Atlanta at a party. If they had the money, Chloe had the time, and when once growing tired of them, they get robbed by the duo. She encounters Mr. Shannon Bourdeaux in Atlantic City. They engage in sensual behaviors until Chloe feels her time & position is nearly up. Millionaire Mistress is a book about simple love that turns bad. Oshyn the main character is in the opening chapter dealing with the fact she's pregnant and her baby father deals with other girls. She eventually has her baby but her cousin Chloe is the ultimate betrayal. Chloe uses her body for her job. Oshyn tries to move on by moving down south with her grandmother and her best friend Apple. Chloe eventually comes down and starts more trouble just like she did before. Oshyn meets a guy named Brooklyn at church and tries not to get involved until he proposes and she now knows she's found love and it's for the best. Chloe is still up to her old tricks and tries to woo Brooklyn. It's up to Brooklyn to see her plan and get away but being the lady Chloe is, it is hard to refuse. Oshyn finds the truth out about Brooklyn and goes in to depression. The end of the book ends with Oshyn doing what she has to do with Chloe which is tying off of family ties.


I like this book because it explores love in a mysterious way. Oshyn is like most women who are insecure after their man treats them like trash. It's hard for them to move on and giving trust only adds to the fire. Chloe is every women's enemy because of her way of being. This book gives it to you real and leaves no detail out. I believe this book gets a 5/5

This book was a flawless read. I read it in one sitting and could barely get up for necessary breaks, if you know what I mean. The characters were all off the chain and the story just unfolded smoothly without many hiccups. I immediately purchased the second installment of the series which I will try to finish tonight. I would recommended this one to all. I love well put together stories. I must admit that at 75% in the book, the characters were starting to read and become too familiar of others in previous books I'd read but Tiphani tricked me well!

It was kind of crazy how the story begin and end. But, it can be amazing how two sibling who may come from the same mother or father are totally opposite. But, at the same time, this book show the ruthless side of people as well as the love and faith sad of people. Evil and lust will crush the love and heart of a person. It always bring the other side of a good person. Chloe brought that out Oshyn by fucking her husband Brooklyn. Killing the bestfriend and son would make a person lose their sanity. Overall, this was a page-turner.

I loved Oshyn except for the fact she seemed a little naive to Chloe's bogus ways. Hell, why didn't she change the damn locks on the house that Chloe had the keys too? Geez! Overall a great read with some minor editing errors. I cannot wait to see what happens in the sequel!

Issues rise and they are both forced to do things that they don’t want to do. There are lots of twist and turns in this book as well as details. I loved this book it was really good. I finished this book in 24 hours. Normally I don't like a lot of drama-filled, sexually charged books, but this book had so many twist and turns that I was locked in. It was definitely a page turner. When I got to the end, I immediately downloaded Still Mistress (#2 in the series) and I'll probably finish it in a couple hours. Definitely a good read if you can get past all the sex.
