The highly popular First Books series, which brings together favourite prayers, hymns, carols and poetry along with the beautiful illustrations by Brenda Meredith Seymour and Tasha Tudor, has been in print for over thirty years. They will make perfect gifts for children aged 2-4, and are ideal for adults and children to read together.
A collection of prayers for children, more than "Now I lay me down to sleep." I love how tiny the book is, appropriate for little hands to use independently as children develop their own spiritual lives.
I adored this book when I was little. I loved all the precious little illustrations and I would choose different prayers out of it each night when it was time to say my prayers. I am going to look for a copy for my 4 year old daughter.
This is a sweet little book published in 1952, with my husband’s birth name as an inscription. Having been brought up in the Christian tradition, quite a few of the prayers are familiar to me, some as songs for which I never knew more than the first verse (ie: Now the day is over/night is drawing nigh/shadows of the evening/steal across the sky - this is one my family frequently sang while traveling as evening was coming on). My theology has developed differently since then, but it was still nice to read.
Inspirational verses & prayers with lovely artwork by Tasha Tudor. This particular version (0-8098-1952-X) is an updated issue of the 1952 version. This impression is from 1984 & was done for the "Tasha Tudor Treasure" a 3 book set.
