Cartier Cartel #2

Return of the Cartier Cartel

Rate this book
Brooklyn empress Cartier knows the streets of Brooklyn like nobody's business. In fact, she successfully built her Cartier Cartel drug ring on the code of the streets, hustling and stacking paper. However, the life of crime is wearing her down, and she's ready to quit the game when two of her Cartel soldiers are gunned down in the same streets that fattened her bankroll. Now she's hell bent on seeking revenge for her friends, and she and her most loyal set out to solve the hood's whodunit. Along the way, tempers flare and love is tested as her prince steps out of line and sleeps with the enemy. Devastation reigns supreme in the streets of Brooklyn, while Cartier is constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering who will be the next to stab her in the back.

Nisa Santiago came bursting onto the literary scene in 2009 with her debut title, Cartier Cartel. The book garnered rave reviews and left her readers wanting more. She followed up with the sequel, Return of the Cartier Cartel – which turned into a national bestseller. The Library Journal declared that Santiago’s sequel, [Return of the Cartier Cartel] “Will keep readers hooked to the last chapter.”

Born and raised in Brooklyn, and now living in Harlem, the author is moving at full speed with her writing endeavors. Coined the Duchess of Hop-Hip lit, Santiago humbly admits, “I’m just grateful to be doing what I love as a career and not just a hobby.”

Her latest novel, Bad Apple – The Baddest Chick is slated for an October 2011 release date. The author emphatically states that her decision to start a new series instead of penning part 3 to Cartier Cartel was a brave one. “My readers love Cartier and they wanted more.” Santiago wants her readers to know that she has so many stories to tell and shows no signs of slowing down. Dirty Money Honey is an anthology with her peers, Erica Hilton and Kim K., Melodrama Publishing’s new trinity of authors.

Again, I think Nisa Santiago is one of my new favorite authors. I am as in love with Cartier Cartel as I was with The Cartel by Ashley and JaQuavis. I finished book 2 yesterday. It was even better than book 1.
I would recommend starting at book one so you can meet Cartier and all her friends. They are something else. You will get an opportunity to see how they grow from broke teenagers to ballin' adults. See how they SLAY in book 2. The Return of the Cartier Cartel, Part 2.

I didn't trust Head & he was betrayed being a betrayer. Cartier was too hurt by Jason to see that meeting Head was to convenient. He said all the right things & showed the right things but was a snake as well. I didn't trust Jallissa either, wasn't sure why but it was revealed. Glad that Jason had Cartier's name forged on his safe deposit box & made sure her & the kids would be alright. Trina is a ride or die chick for real. I don't trust Lil Moma either, but time will reveal. I also wonder not "If" but "When Cartier will find out that Head isn't all that real & honest himself.

This book was straight 🔥. Cartier and her group of friends were nothing to play with. Everyone out something in this book. It really played out to me like really life situation. Cheating and hugging the block killing best friends snitching and all types of maddness I’m just mad I slept on this series in the first place. Take it from me don’t sleep on it like I did. 5+ banger for real

IS THE THREAT REALLY OVER???

I just do not believe the threat is really over on Cartier's life ... I think Head is putting up a smoke screen to really get at her to avenge his "nephew's" death ... I could be wrong!!!
I'm definitely ready to read book 3!!!
Dope book series!!!

Guess Who's Back??? (4.5 Stars)

After retreating to California to lay low after two members of her Cartel were set-up and left for dead Cartier is finally Brooklyn bound. Cartier needed the time to regroup and strategize her revenge and while her husband Jason should have been doing the same he’s too busy leading the champagne life. When Cartier is confronted with proof of Jason’s California dreaming it’s exactly the catalyst she needs to get her head back in the game and fully focused on enacting revenge.

Back in Brooklyn Bam and Lil Momma kept their ears to the streets trying to find out any info on who was behind the hit on Monya and Shanine. Upon Cartier and Jason’s arrival the girls have narrowed it down to two likely culprits. Getting at either won’t be as easy as everyone initially thought especially with internal and external issues pulling the crew apart. As the leader of the Cartel Cartier once again finds herself under the most pressure, pressure that’s damaging not only the bond between the remaining Cartel members but her marriage as well.

Author Nisa Santiago does an excellent job with the Return of the Cartier Cartel; most notably with Cartier’s character. Cartier was allowed to struggle with her obligations to her crew especially when they contrasted with the obligations she had to her family. Although some of her decisions at times appeared questionable her motives were always honorable which garnered her the necessary respect needed to head her crew

Hmm cant really say that I liked this one better or not but I read it much faster as it stuck to basically one storyline and answered all the questions from there..It was refreshing to see everything get neatly tied up with no new characters to distract you, you really get to feel Cartier and why she is "so gangsta" and one of my favorite characters from the last book goes straight grimey..I hated Jason and felt that though he claimed to have genuine love for Cartier he would have been a little more faithful and not gotten all of them involved with the drama..Its also sad how the Cartel falls apart as everyone falls to the streets in their own ways.. Without divulging the entire plot just know that you have to read Part one to fully appreciate this and it is best if read back to back--bold themes of revenge, loyalty and respect resonate throughout the book and throw in mistresses, murder, children and kidnappings you have this drama filled two part series..I enjoyed this..

Cartier and the remaining members are back and looking to avenge the death of their fallen soldiers. Despite being older, wiser and now a married mother of two, Cartier quickly finds herself caught up in ongoing drama, struggles and deceit, all of which can end with deadly results.

Not a huge fan of sequels, it was no secret that I didn't think this one was necessary. Still, with "Return of the Cartier Cartel," Nisa Santiago's prose has a light, easy-to-read touch, though the content was not light or easy. In addition to drama, there were splashes of action and a hint of mystery. But even with all that, this reader couldn't fully embrace this story. I'm sure there will be those that like and love "Return of the Cartier Cartel," but for me, it was just okay. I still look forward to reading more from this author.

This book was also a page turner that was difficult to put down. This was another book I was able to finish in a few hours. I can honestly say that all the books I have read by Nisa have been excellent reads. Cartier is again faced with lies from her husband, Jason who brings her new enemies. The cartel is able to put aside their differences & come together for the sake of Monya. As the death toll rises, Cartier finds out who is really on her side. The ending was not as explosive as I though it would be but nevertheless this was another 5 star!

Nisa Santiago her amazing...shes has the best imagination ever. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. She holds nothing back and doesn't display happy endings. She keeps it uncut and real. This book was sad and suspenseful. She is me favorite author right now.

Loved it

Jason really loved Cartel. He made sure she was good in the end. It's sad how he died, but he knew his kids needed their mother. I hope Lil Momma does something good with her money. Great Read!
