Hold On to the Good Stuff is a collection of comedy scripts by Dan Trudeau. Recommended if you like Monty Python, The Kids in the Hall, The Marx Brothers, or Chapelle's Show.
In this enjoyable collection of comedy sketches, you will be able to laugh at demented characters and bizarre situations, normal characters in slightly twisted scenarios, and he even has one where normal characters do completely normal things, much like day to day life. I know, I know, that one sounds boring but it works, really. It is all quite funny. To read this collection is to get to know Dan Trudeau. You can learn what he finds funny, and, to some degree you should be able to learn who some of his influences are. If you are a lucky person, you have seen live performances of some of these sketches by The Flying Turtles. If that is you, you will laugh again, and really love this book. If you are very, very fortunate, then you were one of The Flying Turtles, and you actually performed one of these sketches, and can enjoy reading the material again, and fondly remember the best times you ever had at a coffee house. There are a few pieces here that were new to me, which was very enjoyable to read, and written in a way that made the mental imaging of a stage version very easy. I encourage everyone to buy several copies of this book, which should encourage Dan to write and publish more, something the world desperately needs.
