Anything can happen under the cover of darkness.

Kell Roberts has walked the thin line between life and death for so long that it now feels like home. He is a soldier, a survivor, and a loner. Still, Kell cannot turn his back on the beautiful woman caught in his firefight against the drug lords of Mexico. She says her name is Teddie, but Kell senses there’s much more to her story—and it’s about to pull him into a mission he didn’t sign on for: keeping her alive.

Teddie Lassiter knows this lean, mean rescuer just saved her life, but the steel glint behind those soft gray eyes seem to be hiding something deep. The men after Teddie are deadly, but the man who holds her life in his hands and tempts her with his wicked touch is even more dangerous. He could make her dream about living and loving again. And if they can survive, maybe, just maybe, they can stop fighting the world and each other—and simply surrender.

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."
- by Morris "Morrie" Schwartz, American sociology professor and author –

3 1/2 stars. Darn, I really want 1/2 stars!

This sentence outlines everything so perfectly - how I feel about this book:
"And so she walked around Riley’s house – it was quite modern, without a lot of personal photographs at all, like a beautiful shell, and Teddie could see why Riley no longer spent time here."

Gosh, I am so sorry to admit that I am disappointed. I’m going to state my reasons/problems below. The quote I’ve chosen fits quite perfectly and it’s totally AMBIGUOUS.

Kell and his buddy Reid are on a black op mission in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, to assassinate a villain when they’re ‘meeting’ a woman. The woman is being chased by men in a car. They’re able to save her. It’s Teddie (Theodora). She’s a photographer and videographer and she also worked with UN goodwill ambassadors. But her work was now over for the foreseeable future because she’s in witness protection and on the run. Yeah, Teddie is in a hell of a lot of trouble...

After the death of her father, stepmother and half sisters, she’s put into witness protection because she’s the only one who witnessed the murder of her family. The authorities are not able to catch their killers and they believe that her father, a U.S. diplomat living in Khartoum, was the head of a kidnapping ring. Teddie wants to find out the truth and is determined to prove that her father’s innocent of any wrongdoing. Therefore, she escapes witness protection and comes to Mexico and meets her father’s friend, Samuel Chambers. Teddie believes that he is the guy who framed her father and had her family killed. They meet at a local restaurant for a talk. That’s when the men who killed her family enter the restaurant. She panics and runs away – she ends up with Kell and Reid. Kell decides to help Teddie.

Night Moves is book 4 in the Shadow Force series. The beginning is superb and then...I don’t know but I felt like I got lost somewhere. The book is fast-paced and there’s quite a lot of action which I liked a lot! And I loved to see that a few other H/h (especially Dylan and Riley) of previous books had their moment to make an appearance in Night Moves. That was well done. Stephanie Tyler delivers yummylicious guys without end – as usual. She is one of my favorite authors and I just expect more when I’m reading her books.

She’s got this cool, detached, and engrossing writing style. Don’t get me wrong – I like that. But I was missing something here. I didn’t feel the connection to the main couple. I wanted MORE EMOTIONS along this 'coolness' and I wanted more depth to the story AND the characters. And to be honest I couldn’t feel the love between H/h. It's just not enough to say "I love you" - it didn’t ring true. The development of their 'relationship' was not good enough. The chemistry was almost non-existent and the sex scenes (sorry, no love scenes here) were lukewarm at best. Kell has quite a lot of baggage to deal with but so has Teddie, and I think when it came down to that part they fit perfectly. Both of them were rather emotionless.

Gosh, I want ‘Saint’ back!!! He’s a secondary character of the Hold trilogy and I LOVED this guy! His story is told in Hold on Tight and it was my favorite book by Stephanie Tyler. How can you not love such a man? Yeah, there's really something about regretting bygone times...

Night Moves is a stand-alone book but if you’d like to explore more of Stephanie’s work, then I’d highly recommend you to read her other books as well - and do it in order.

Without going into the details(which will require a lot of recap since we get many characters from the other books joining in), this one worked for me way more than Mace's book, maybe because I went in with low expectation or I don't know for whatever reason.

Kell and Teddie worked well for me but one thing I have noticed is that Tyler always follows a formula in her books, on the run, a secondary romance introduced and not totally completed like with Reid and an array of old character thrown in the action.

Decent.

This book was really very good. It was destined to 5 stars but the two villains of the story decided to be wetpants instead and I downgraded my review.

Really the suspense was good and all the characters were strong and very likable people. But in the end, the villains were not what I expected them to be (being their pasts and so on). What a pity that anti-climatic ending :(

When he finally pulled back, there was a predator’s gleam in his eye. He looked so damned…satisfied. So very in charge, and she wanted to slap him and kiss him at the same time.

Kell and Reid are best friends, both with tragic, angsty pasts (I love angst!). They grew up in foster care, both ending up there for very different reasons, but both of them were in full on survival mode as teens. They became best friends fast and have been that to each other for years.

After a mission that went horribly wrong, a teammate was killed, Kell’s friends were hurt badly, including Reid, and Kell blames himself. We learned the details of the mission in the previous book, but it’s recalled here from Kell’s perspective and he’s still dealing with his own emotions about it and not doing so well. Reid’s worried that he’s losing his best friend and doesn’t know what to do to help him anymore. And then they run into Teddie, or rather she literally runs into them, trying to escape the men she’s convinced killed her family over a year ago.

Kell and Teddie both have pasts that have made them put up walls around everyone and everything in their present life. Teddie has no choice, having been in Witness Protection for the past year. She’s had to give up everything she loved after losing her family. She took off on her own, not telling her handler, to try and get enough evidence against the men she suspects killed her father, step-mother and half-sisters. The meeting she sets up goes horribly wrong, but she escapes and runs into Kell and Reid, who are in the middle of their own mission. The trio circle around each other at first, not knowing if anyone can be trusted, but Teddie doesn’t have much choice but to side with Kell and Reid and Kell finds himself not being able to let Teddie go off on her own with her life in danger.

“You’re so beautiful,” she whispered, looked at him with her eyes full of the compliment. No one had ever said that to him before – and holy Christ, she meant it.

He should tell her there was nothing beautiful about him, but he needed it to be true, didn’t want her to see him as a danger…didn’t want her to see the ugliness he’d been born with on the inside.

There are 2 separate suspense storylines that end up intersecting at the end. We have Teddie dealing with the men from her past and Dylan (who we meet in Lie With Me) dealing with a psycho from his past who’s causing havoc for Dylan and the rest of his friends. I was actually surprised at the amount of Dylan, Riley and even Vivi we got in this story. Add to that a solid supporting storyline for Reid and Grier (a US Marshall trying to track down Teddie) it didn’t leave a lot of extra page time for the leading couple. It just felt like there was a little something missing between them. I really did like the scenes when they finally started opening up to each other about their pasts and letting their guard down. And Kell’s just a hard guy; he’s had a tough life, he puts a lot of blame on himself for things that are really out of his control, and in that sense he stayed true to his character throughout. Even when he lets Teddie in, he still has that edge, but Teddie gives him something else to hold on to, where before he only had Reid.

While I loved seeing Kell open up to Teddie, I wish he’d have done the same with Reid. Their best friend relationship was one of my favorite parts of the story, and it didn’t feel like they had any kind of real conversation together. Maybe chalk it up to them being guys, and they really wouldn’t talk to each other about that kind of stuff, but having both lived through hard times, something other than a fist fight, which they had and really went at each other, would have been nice to see between them.

We get a little taste of Reid and Grier and I’m looking forward to seeing where Stephanie Tyler takes them. We had a few moments of sweetness and sexy between them and of course (blast you Stephanie!) we end with angst and sadness. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for Reid and Grier to get a chance at happiness.

I enjoyed Night Moves and reading about Kell and Teddie finding love together after years of struggling to just make it through each day. For me, the supporting characters, specifically Reid and Grier, overshadowed the leads a bit, but when you love characters in a book, any character, it’s not a bad thing at all! I always look forward to Tyler’s romantic suspense books and can’t wait to see what she gives us next.

My Rating: 4 Stars: Enjoyed - strongly recommend (A-)

Welcome to the high-stakes, fast-paced world of the Shadow Force! Ms. Tyler’s fourth installment is an exciting suspense mystery with multiple layers that all feed into one fantastic ride!

The story picks up not long after “band of brothers” that compromise “Shadow Force” (some current and some ex-military) are finally reunited in upstate New York. Their adventures thus far were chronicled in the first three books; however, you could easily pick up this story and read it on its own merits. The men and their women have been through some rough times, but things are about to get worse when a dangerous enemy of their leader, Dylan, resurfaces, vowing to destroy all that Dylan holds dear. Meanwhile, Kell and his best friend/partner, Reid, are on a covert operation in Mexico to assassinate a drug lord. Things go haywire when a near-death Teddie runs into the middle of their operation.

Teddie has her own problems to overcome. A runaway from the Witness Protection Program, she went to Mexico to find the men who murdered her family and prove her deceased father is innocent of the heinous crimes he is suspected of committing. When she is saved by Kell and Reid, she isn’t sure if she can trust the men who are just as dangerous as those out to kill her.
Night Moves starts off kicking and doesn’t slow down for very long. The multiple story lines intermingle and gel superbly. As someone who has read the previous books in this series, I will say that the book almost had a “last hurrah” kind of feeling; however after completing the book, I know this wasn’t the end. The men all band together and fight the common enemy. It’s very much and “all for one and one for all” situation. Not to mention the story has several nail-biter scenes that kept me glued to the book, completing the emotional piece that had me thinking the series would end here.

Kell and Teddie are a good match. Per the usual, both have pasts haunted with sorrow and regret. They are two lost souls searching for truth and justice, brought together because of circumstance, but staying together because of an intense (and immediate) connection. There romance was pretty good - not over the top, but sexy and sweet. I was a little disappointed near the climax of the story when the pair were imprisoned and Kell spilled his secrets to Teddie. It was a bit too easy for me to believe years of suffering melt away because he confesses to her. After hearing about Kell in the previous book, In the Air Tonight, I would have liked to get more of his background and time he spent hunting down the enemy. I was under the impression that he was a desperate man trying to save himself by protecting others. I wanted more of that angst.

I enjoyed Crystal, Dylan’s former mentor now mortal enemy. He is one of those bad guys that you love to hate - no redeeming qualities and beyond any help. He has no conscious and will manipulate to everyone to cause the maximum suffering. He is the mastermind behind the puppet show, bringing all of the pieces of the puzzle together. He alone kept me guessing what would happen next. I felt his demise was a little to simplistic, and I was honestly disappointed to see him go. (I can always hope...)

As the book drew to a close, I realized that the story was not going to be a happy ending for all the brothers of the team. Reid has met his match in Marshall Grier Catherine Grace Vanderhall, and I’m hoping we don’t have to wait long to read their story.

Good book with lots of action. Kell and his friend Reid are in Mexico on a black ops mission to take out a drug cartel leader. Just as they are ready to do so, a woman comes between them and their target. They take her captive until they can complete their mission, then plan to let her go. That is, until they hear her story.

Teddie has been in witness protection since she witnessed her father, stepmother and two half sisters get murdered. Disgusted with the lack of progress in solving their murders, she takes off on her own mission to do so. She has a good idea who is behind it and decides to face him on her own. But she has taken on more than she can handle and finds herself on the run from the same men who murdered her family. Getting captured by Kell was not in her plans, but she can't deny she needs his help.

The relationship between Kell and Teddie is a volatile one from the beginning. Neither one trusts the other. Kell senses that Teddie isn't being totally honest about everything that is going on, and that something is going to come back and bite them. Teddie doesn't trust anyone after everything that has gone on and his initial treatment of her didn't help. She quickly sees that he has demons of his own that are driving him. Added to the stress of their situation is an explosive attraction that threatens to bring down their respective protective walls around their hearts.

I really liked Kell. He's had a rough life and has really made something of himself. He's always had a protective nature, evident from the time he and Reid were in foster care together. They went on to join the military together, and with their friends formed their own black ops group. Kell is haunted by his last mission, which went horribly wrong, resulting in the capture of his friends and the death of one of them. He feels it is his fault and the guilt is eating him up. That protective nature is what has him taking on Teddie's problems. I liked Teddie also. She is an incredibly strong and independent woman. She realizes that she's outmatched when it comes to her plans, but she is determined to try. I liked seeing her sometimes get the better of Kell. I liked seeing them begin to open up to each other, as both attraction and trust started to build. I especially liked seeing how Teddie was able to help Kell deal with his guilty feelings.

The action of the story is very good. The initial mission that Kell and Reid are on doesn't go quite as planned, thanks to Teddie, but we get to see how easily they are able to adapt and overcome. Getting involved with Teddie is a complication they don't need, but Kell refuses to walk away from her. Teddie has two groups after her. The man who she thinks is responsible for her family's deaths, and the marshals whose witness protection she ran away from. The first wants to kill her and the second wants her back in their custody. Kell and Reid discover that they are in the crosshairs of a man who has it in for their boss, and plans to get there through Kell and his teammates. The trio is constantly under attack from one group or another. While all the confrontations are intense, there are some that have an amusing side also. I loved the encounter between Reid and Marshal Grier, when she caught up with him. I also enjoyed seeing the other members of the team as they all came together to bring down the man that's after them. The final confrontation is especially intense as the two bad guys combine forces. The conclusion is terrific, with a little bit of a hook for Reid's story.

Teddie runs sout into the desert.
Keil Roberts and his friend Reid are in Mexico to assassinate a drug lord. Just as they are about to pull the trigger they see a woman running toward them. She is being chased by men in a jeep. They manage to grab her and hide until the jeep passes them. Keil is running from his feelings. His last mission he unknowingly leads bad guys to where his team mates are. When they are taken and tortured. By the time he finds them one is dead, one brainwashed, and two are almost dead, one is his best friend , Reid. Keil then takes off after the men who did this and kills them. He lets noone know where he is or what he is doing. This puts him on the edge. When Keil finds out who she is and why she is running he decides to help her. Keil fights the attraction that he feels for Teddie, but it is no use With a villian after Teddie and a different one after Keil, how will they be able to save each other?

This is Ms Tyler's fourth installment in her Shadow Force series. This story is chalk full of action and romance. This is book is an edge of your seat page turner. It will keep you guessing until the end. I love Ms Tyler's books. You get not just one romance but two. You get one all the way to the happy ending and the start of another one that will be finished in the next book. This makes these books great. Ms Tyler is on my autobuy list.

Kell Roberts is a soldier that knows how to get into and out of tight spots. It is place he has known for a very long time and that has kept as a loner as he feels that is the safest for everyone around him. On his latest mission one thing he doesn’t count on is a woman getting caught in his firefight with a Mexican drug lord. Now is he finding himself drawn to Teddie even though he knows there is a lot more to her story than she is telling him. Now he is going to have a new mission and that is to keep Teddie alive because someone is after her and he has to find out just who and what is after her.

Theodora “Teddie” Lassiter knows that Kell has saved her life but she has very dangerous men after her and she isn’t sure that Kell isn’t more dangerous than them. She is drawn to him despite the danger that radiates off of him. Now she has to decide if she can trust him enough to let him protect her from what is coming because she is fast realizing that no matter how well she can protect herself those after her are just a little bit better and if she wants a chance to survive she will need Kell to do it.

Kell and Teddie know that the attraction between them could be a distraction that can get them killed if they are not careful but the strength of that attraction isn’t going to go away any time soon either. Now they are in a race to find a place that is safe from those that are after them and if they are not careful a misstep will get them both killed.

This story is part of a series and while the characters from the other stories make an appearance in this one it can still be read as a stand alone. The story is action packed with enough twists to keep it fresh and engrossing. The character have enough flaws to make them believable and will keep the interest of the reader as the characters work their way through their past so that the can have a future together. It is obvious that the author took the time to do research to make this story very believable and entertaining. This one is definitely worth reading.

The "Force" continues with all the right "Moves."

Stephanie Tyler continues her "Shadow Force" series with a powerful story of friendship and love. Kell and Reid have shared a special bond since they were teenagers. This story emphasizes just how far they'll each go to protect and support the other. I also enjoyed the introduction of Teddie into the mix. She intrigued me and it was fun to watch as Kell took the plunge into his HEA. Of course, his best friend Reid was ever faithful in pushing Kell off the cliff!

This series has been one of my favorites from the first book. It continues to remain atop that list. Once again, I've closed another Shadow Force book with complete satisfaction. I'm anxiously awaiting Reid's next encounter with a certain U.S. Marshal, as well as catching up with the rest of the guys and gals.

Note: I have had so many interruptions while trying to read "Night Moves" that I finally gave up and closed the book. Last night I began anew and finished this morning!

I generally don't like writing short reviews, but for the life of me I don't  know what to say about Night Moves other then, it was typical Stephanie Tyler.... Which basically means, it was a great book!
Plenty of action, characters (main & secondary) that grabbed my attention, and a well developed, intricate plot.

There was a lot of story, and it kept moving at a good pace, and there's a side plot featuring the main secondary characters that (i think/hope) sets up the next book,  that makes me eager for it's release....though I will say that I'm not totally sure if I liked the upcoming heroine or not.

So...4 stars...not my favorite ST title, but then again I think I'd be hard pressed to choose just one Stephanie Tyler book that liked over all the others...they're all  just so good!

Night Moves is a part of the Shadow Force series, and I loved this one from the beginning. The prologue did a beautiful job of showing Kell and Reid's lives before the military and how their friendship developed in to the lifelong friendship they have today. The love story with Kell and Teddie wasn't an in your face romance, and I thought the balance of romance and suspense was right on. I think my favorite part was when Reid announced that since Teddie belonged to Kell, she was to be protected by his brothers, and then it was done. That is family, blood or not, family just the same.

This was Kell's story and it was pretty darn good. The love scenes were hot! I thought that he and Teddie made a good couple. I got wrapped up in Reid and Greir, but I saw on ST's website that it will be sometime in 2013 before we get their story...bummer. I don't think we have heard the last of Cyrstal...I don't know how I feel about him. Is the a possible bad guy that gets redemption in his own book? He still sounded pretty hot from the description and I think there is a core of honor in him somewhere. Just in my own opinion.

Kell and Teddie! These books get better with each new story. They are hot and exciting. Then there's Reid and Grier and their love story that's being continued with the next book.

It was okay. The action parts were vague I suppose so the author could skip detail. Sex parts were hot though. Read my crime thrillers.

How I got this book: NetGalley

I almost don’t know where to start with this one. I’m a huge Tyler fan, I love her books and the stuff she writes with Larissa Ione under the Sydney Croft pen name. But this book didn’t live up to my Stephanie Tyler standards.

Kell is in a bad place, emotionally and physically, when he first meets Teddie. And although he knows that she is lying and keeping secrets, he refuses to leave her alone in the jungle. When trouble comes looking for her, Kell is determined to keep her safe from the flying bullets.

Teddie has been living in solitude for a year now, with the drive to find her family’s killer the only thing keeping her going. She is scared to death of Kell, but he proves time and time again that he is someone she can trust, someone who can keep her safe. But when someone comes after Kell, Teddie finds herself caught in the crossfire. If they can both make it out alive, will either be ready to commit, or will the emotional trauma from their pasts be too much to overcome?

I’m a little divided on this book. One hand we have the suspense sub-plot involving both the mercs that are after Teddie, and her desire to solve her family’s murder as well as the story line with Kell and the man tracking down the guys of the Shadow Force team. I thought that both of these plots were well executed. They were separate and then came together in a believable fashion, they were full of action and suspense and kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. In my opinion, Tyler is one of the better suspense writers I’ve ever read – hands down.

But then we have the romance aspect, and for me this is where the book feel flat. Through almost the entire book Teddie is petrified of Kell. She is scared of what he can do, who he is and what he does for a living. She goes from trying to shot him to falling in love in the span of a week. While I can believe couples falling in love that quickly, especially with the adrenaline always so high, I just didn’t understand or feel it between Teddie and Kell.

As characters they were both okay. There wasn’t really anything special about them. For me they were kind of flat, and while they both had some crazy histories’, I never really felt as if it was explored or resolved with either of them. It seemed to be as if they both floated through the suspense, living to get through the day, and then decided to be together. There wasn’t really any moment when I really believed they lived for each other, that they would do anything for one another. It just feel somewhat flat.

I seemed to enjoy the moments with Kell’s best friend and partner Reid more, especially once Reid got tied up with the US Marshall Grier. They two of them had passion and chemistry and a strong connection. I thought their scenes were almost better than those with the hero and heroine. Hopefully Reid’s book will be next and we can get back to the classic Tyler that is so great.

All in all I was left feeling just somewhat blah after reading this book. Yes, the action and suspense portion of the book was well done and engaging, but I wanted so much more – especially in the romance department.

Night Moves

I can't say this enough.... I LOVE this series! Stephanie Tyler knows how to write sexy men and women as strong capable warriors and still give them a soft side. This book is by far my favorite in the series, I've been super excited to read Kell's story and man was it good. The action and suspense was terrific, the sex was super hot and these two, Kell and Teddie, were great characters. She always gives the perfect amount of background information without overloading the reader with it.

Kell was pretty wounded inside by his past and that made him able to put feelings aside to get the job done, yet when he met Teddie he was such a sweetheart. He pretty much dropped everything to help save her, which was a lot for him since he's didn't think he was capable of it. And Teddie, man I just wanted to give her a hug. I felt so bad for what she went through, but she stayed strong. She wasn't one of those weak female characters that has to run to a man to save her. She could take care of her self very well but thanks to Kell she didn't really have to.

Then there was the little side story about Reid and Grier, whom I'm going to be very upset if there isn't a book for them. Man oh man did they have some smokin' hot chemistry. Yum....I want Reid all to myself! ;) And I can't forget to mention the rest of the group making their own appearances. Dylan, Riley and Cam more so than the others though. Anyways, I won't spoil but it looks like those guys are finally getting their happy endings! *Sigh*

So, I give this book 5 Stars! I just couldn't give it anything less because it was such a fantastic book. I was on the edge of my seat nearly the entire time!!! Thank you Stephanie for this great series and please, PLEASE give Reid and Grier their own book. I'm begging, I just have to know what happens!!!

Loved it, just loved it. The entire series has been a really great action packed suspenseful read that'll keep you reading til the wee hours. If I have a negative say about this series, is that it takes a while to get the bond with the characters as we don't have any idea of the Shadow Force's team and their own uniqe personality until their story is being told, which makes it seem like these books could be a stand alone read. A great example is with Cindy Gerard's Black Op series. There's no doubt after reading the first book in the series, all of the characters involved in the series are introduced with their own varying personalities, strengths, appearances, that you bonded much faster with this series. I felt this not so with Stephanie's books until the middle of the third book in the series but when you connected, you began to bond with the characters at jet speed just as you did with Cindy's series and then you couldn't put the book down, and then you began choosing your favorite hero. Night Moves was essentially the book where everything flowed, grabbing you from start to finish. It was a really great read, having every element, seeing the characters of Shadow Force all coming together, working together. Now it feels like a series and now I can't wait til the next book to come out.

From the beginning, this book kept my attention. Kell was likeable, and I immediately became attached to him as the lead character. Reed was also likeable from the start. Teddie, not so much; however, over time, she grew on me. I like when characters have to grow on you in the way Teddie did. I think she grew up over the course of the novel and she learned to trust again. It was kind of wonderful to witness. Kell grew in many ways with the help of his woman. I’m not sure if I like that theme or not, but you really get to understand the strong bond between Reed and Kell and you love Reed for his loyalty and acceptance of Kell as a person. While they’re arguing and fighting for half the book, you can tell they love each other like brothers and have each other’s backs no matter what. There is a lot of action in this book. The scenes for the most part are awesome and you get a sense of unreality sometimes right along with the characters as they’re going through the danger. It all seems so surreal and like a bad dream you can’t wake up from because it’s a living nightmare. It’s really great.
The only thing that truly ticks me off with this book is the ending. If you read it, you’ll see what I’m talking about. I guess Ms. Tyler figures we can do some of the work for ourselves because she set it up for us.
Happy Reading

Book 4 in the series, the main hero is this one is Kell. Kell and Reid are on a black op mission in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to assassinate a leader of the Mexican Cartel. While setting up for the shot they see a woman running and have to abort and take the woman hostage to get her out of the way. Teddie (Theodora) is in witness protection after seeing her father, stepmother and half sisters murdered before her. She wants revenge on those that killed her family and escapes from witness protection and comes to Mexico and meets her father’s friend, Samuel Chambers. But that turns out to be a double cross and she has to kill a man to get away. We have three very dark characters here - Kell, Reid, and Teddie who are all keeping secrets and still dealing with the trauma's of there past.

We also get a nice catch up scene on all previous characters with reminders of what happened in previous books.

In the middle of all of this we have Dylan's old mentor who is out for revenge and is going to go through Zane, Caleb, Mace, Kell and Reid on his way to Dylan.

I cannot wait to read Reid and Grier's story..

Night Moves is a romantic suspense novel by Stephanie Tyler. It is the fourth book in the Shadow Force series.

It took me way too long to read this book. I usually chew through novels, especially romance novels. Many parts were just plain boring. It picked up a little bit toward the end, but a lot of it seemed either implausible or "done before."

Kell Roberts and Teddie Lassiter are our main couple for this book (although there is another couple that Tyler concentrates on--very typical of the author). To me, the romance blossomed too quickly and there wasn't enough romantic tension (a problem I think Tyler has with this genre). This was one of the things that made the plot move slowly.

I thought about not reading the last Shadow Force novel because I was not impressed by this one, but I probably will end up reading it anyhow just to make sure I'm not missing anything. ;-)

“Are you…the good guys?”
Teddie’s question early in the story is a good one to keep in mind as the plot twists and turns in this suspense full of military, government employed, and free-lance black operatives.
The action opens with an operation against a Mexican drug cartel. Additional complications pull in international kidnapping, murder, the positive and negative aspects of witness protection and personal revenge as the action moves within the primary settings of Mexico, Texas, and Florida. Terrain and weather accentuate the danger.
Romance is present in this fourth book of the Shadow Force series but I saw it as a secondary role. In some respects this book stands on its own, with plenty of development of the primary characters. I did find some of the references to characters that are secondary in this volume a little distracting without adding to the understanding of the motive driving these scenes.
If you want the emphasis on suspense and are not concerned about body count in your romantic suspense this is an excellent choice.

It was good but i felt like she kinda just shoved Kell & Teddie together and it just didn't really mesh that well for most of the book , I love Kell but i felt like his story wasn't up to snuff .
I also love Reid but again she didn't really give him much of a story and it just felt like she was trying to force 2 stoires into one book and it didn't really fit that well . i still love the series and i hope if there is another book that it will be better then this one , i hope we find out how Reid fairs with Grier and what happens to them because she didn't finish that story .

I really felt like they should have had them own books between the 2 of them Kell & Reid are such great characters that it felt like they got short change with their stoires .
Overall this seires is really good , this book is my least fav outta all the others . Kell is such a hottie and Reid is such a bad boy grr i want one of my own :)

Night moves is better romantically than In the Air Tonight was, at least for me. However, that being said, I didn't find a real connection between Teddie and Kell. I think Stephanie Tyler excels at writing suspense and action, fight sequences and red herrings, but the last few books I've read have left me not feeling the love between the hero and heroine of the story.

So saying that, I found I enjoyed the glimpses we got of Reid and Grier. I look forward to their book.

Reid and Kell had an honest connection that was well written and interesting. I found I wanted to know more about them growing up together. I wish we had seen more of their time in boot camp, and more childhood antics at their foster home (whether good or mischievous)

Night Moves is a well written novel, by all intents and purposes, and I will read the next novel in the series.

I love these books for what they are. Very strong women who still need the help of very strong hunky Special Force's guys. They have served or are serving in the military and retire into they own big hunky guy private sector businesses. They are still very hot romance novels though it doesn't bother me so much. The circumstances for their meeting in this instance is a real hoot and totally unbelievable, but I loved it anyway. I like Stephanie's books, not a lot of the old fashioned romance love hate thing going on. Her people are more like soul mates in dangerous situations so we skip the love hate love part. That was always my complaint about romances. A little communication could solve a lot of problems. I don't even really know if they're like that anymore. Anyway i would recommend these if you don't mind a lot of hot sex in your adventure stories.

This book is the fourth in a series and each book has plenty of action from the start to finish. This was Kell and Teddie's book, but Reid plays a big part in it also and sets his book up as well. Kell and Teddie meet by running in to each other, literally, during an op in Mexico. What follows is the three of them running for their lives from two different groups. Without trying to give too much of the plot away, I'll say the chases were the most exciting part as I didn't really feel that much between Kell and Teddie, except for instant sexual attraction. I did like the relationship between Kell and Reid and seeing where they came from and where they are headed. I think I liked Reid the most in this book and the set-up for his book was a really good sub-plot.

Love this series and Kell and Reid were such an angst-ridden wonderful surprise. I love how Tyler creates these groups that have heart-tugging histories and intriguing plotlines (first the brothers in the Hard to Hold/ Navy Seals Trilogy and now in ShadowForce). The action, suspense, angst and romance all capture my attention and won't let it go. Kell and Teddie were perfect but I think Grier and Reid will be even better...I can't wait for the next installment. I also want to thank TYler for resolving the Crystal situation at the end of this novel and not making the reader hang until the next novel...I don't think I could have waited that long but I was preparing myself for it. These just keep getting better and better!

I thought this book was better than the last, at least the action in it was more interesting. The romance part so so, but I think that was more me than anything. I loved how this book showed how Kell and Reid were such good friends and how they each would do anything for the other.

The addition of Crystal as the big bad was weird to me. He had such a beef with Dylan that the ending has me scratching my head. I know
