By a well-known psychic and astrologer, a revealing psychological/astrological exploration of the masks we wear and the many ways our rising signs affect our personalities.
I heard Jeanne Avery talking about this book from an interview. She said that she felt so driven to share her knowledge about rising signs that she sold her Steinway grand piano to fund herself as she wrote this book. I don't know why but that fact compelled me to read it.
I only read my section (Leo rising) and it didn't entirely resonate. She did mention that hard aspects impact expression, and I do have a hard Saturn aspect, so I think that's why.
Her other book "Astrology and Your Past Lives" addresses Saturn issues and I found it extremely comforting. Perhaps the more I release my karma, the more I will come off like a true Leo rising.
A thorough breakdown of the rising signs and a handy book to have for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of this placement. I found some of the language and references to be pretty dated but it was a solid read nonetheless.
IF you like the deeper side of astrology--the breakdown of a person's chart, rather than just reading the weekly horiscope--than this book is a great reference. I give it only 3 stars because I'm not sure how I feel about astrology...but when I'm into it, I'm into it! So, I've kept this book for eons now and do enjoy it when I go there.
I bought it at Half Price Books because I wanted to learn more about astrology. It was kind of helpful but also astrology really isn't my thing. Also, only two sections of the book even were useful to me. I guess if you use astrology super heavily in everyday life this would be a good book.
The seminole work for anyone with questions on their rising sign. As an astrologer I recommend this book to all my clients with questions on said topic.
