Good introduction to chapter books. Suitable for year 3/4 children. Could be used within guided reading as offers a lot of opportunities for discussion of events and characters, and comprehension of text.

it was funny i think it was a slapstick humour and a nice quick book it was really funny how the meerkats called human things like a human is a bla bla or a car is a vroom vroom

This is a funny series about the adventures of some meerkat pups in the Kalahari desert. They are looked after by their much older 'Uncle Fearless' who used to be King of the meerkats and has exciting tales of when he met the 'blah blahs' (humans). It is a light hearted funny book and my daughter loved it and we have now read all four books in the series.

My favourite Awesome Animals book yet!
I love the descriptions of the Blah Blahs items in the egg chamber. The pictures were needed to understand some of them though.
Read to my son at bedtime. Hopefully, when he's older and reading it again he will enjoy it as much as I did.

I kind of like this book because it has some mysterious people that Mimi, Skeema and Little Dream don't know about like the blah-blahs and the battling enemies in the grasses and in the skies.

Meerkat pups realize they are low on the totem pole in their mob which feels outrageous because the beloved uncle who raised them is a former King. They decide to rescue a suitcase they ignorantly think is an egg belonging to monkey like large creatures called click clicks. They have adventures on the way. Ultimately, the battered uncle makes the biggest click click submit to his rule by perching on the man's head. Thus the meerkats establish a new home near the people.

It's cute when animals look at humans and make up names for their things like "vroom, vroom" for car. Meerkats are animals that fascinate kids but lots of us don't know too much about. I learned a little about them from this book. The large print would make this good for an emerging reader.

I thought it was a good book. The author also tried to think like a meerkat.
