A good primer on the basics about our canine friends

The non-fiction book that I chose is a book that has basic facts of different dog breeds for students to learn. I chose to pair this book with The Original Adventures of Hank the Cowdog. This fiction book is an amusing story of a cowdog and his adventures on a farm. I thought this would be a good pairing because the non-fiction book shows dog breeds while the fiction book is an enthralling mystery of a cowdog and his resolve to solve a murder. Although these books might not be similar, the non-fiction book will inform students as the fiction book will make students more interested in dogs.
