Sweet, light, moderately self-effacing humor is what's to be found here ... and, of course, the pleasure that is an early work of Alison Bechdel. A fun little book.

Hilarious in 1988 when I bought it, not so much now but still has tiny gems of wit and choice goddesses. Kitchen Witch which every housewife invokes, Munchies which every woman on a diet prays to, Chocolata the temptress, Inertia and Exertia who fight constantly and if Inertia wins she invites Chocolata who brings Rotunda. My favourite back in the day was Gettuffa the goddess of self defence who taught her followers to walk past construction sites of whistling men chanting:
Wither and fall off,
Wither and fall off,
Wither and fall off...

The book was written by lesbians for lesbians and is heavily slanted towards lesbian sensibilities and lives. Still, hets can enjoy also.
