Working for the Circle C Ranch is a far cry from the very smart, very successful New York design firm Jenny had been with--but it's a job.
She's been warned about rancher Rett Culhane, and with good cause. Because if Rett really knew her, he'd discover she's everything he doesn't want in a woman. But Jenny knows that Rett is everything she wants in a man.

An older re-release of one of Diana Palmer 's romances. She writes with great passion and always makes her hero a big tough strong silent man and her heroines young, naive and innocent. The formula works. I have read all of her books, I think and have lived them all.
This was a really nice book, I was surprised. Usually when DP’s heroes are nice, the book is boring. This one was not. I mean, it is not terribly exciting, but not boring either. A nice H, he is described as having a mean temper but he is very nice with the h and they develop a friendship. She wants more and when it finally happens, she is happy and sees a future with him. But he is in financial trouble and she offers him money to help, which hurts his feelings. He realizes that she can make more money than him, humiliates her and tells her to leave. So she does. She makes a life in the city working as an interior designer and tries to get over him. He of course realizes what he lost, does what is necessary to make money and goes about making her come back. She doesn’t want to even talk to him so he blackmails her to come work on his house, and the seduction game begins. He really works for it and even apologises for what he said back then, unheard of with some of DP’s heroes. In the end she tells him what she feels and ask for just a little bit in return, which is the H’s cue to tell her that he loves her. Because of course the H cannot admit his feelings before the h does. I enjoyed this one.
Jennifer, recovering from pneumonia, is offered a job on Everett Culhane's ranch. She takes it as she is in a dead-end job and is enamored with Texas. When Everett discovers Jennifer's past, he cruelly drives her away. But neither is able to get past their relationship.
I enjoyed this story. It is an alpha/ingenue story but well done. Everett knows he has to make amends while controlling his alpha tendencies. Both need to learn how to forgive and push pass their pride. When they are together they are dynamite. I also liked how Everett's employees let Jennifer know what Everett has done when she was gone. Jennifer was able to put him in his place and hold her own against him.
This is a sweet read. I love reading Diana Palmer.
I liked it. I liked that the heroine wasn't a doormat and once hero treated her badly she left and it took a lot of work for him to win her back. I liked that there wasn't another woman (hero did pretend to date someone to make heroine jealous, but that woman was engaged).
I liked that the hero wasn't as mean as other D. Palmer heroes and he even brought the heroine flowers once. He did have the one incident that he talked to heroine like she was a hooker (find out later he loved her already at that point and he did it deliberately to push her away).
I didn't like that it was mainly from heroine's POV and didn't know what the hero was thinking most of the time. Np.

A typical Diana Palmer book with a cowboy you love and would like to throw over a fence too. Everett (Rhett) Culhane is exactly what Jenny Wren wants in a man but she is what he hates, a City girl. He was burned by a city girl once and wants nothing to do with one. She does not hide this from him intentionally but things she doesn't tell him to clear up who she is cause a big problem. They can't seem to stay away from each other until things are said one night that send her back to the city. Good read and worth the time.
Haven't read this since I was a kid and snuck this off my mother's shelf. Granted, this is certainly a product of its time, 1984, so the lead characters aren't exactly breaking new ground in equality. However, keeping all that in mind, this was still an enjoyable read. Simple, clean cut, and a touch predictable. It didn't give me the same thrill as it did when I was young and thought I was getting away with reading something adult, but I'd have to say having read a good portion of Diana Palmer's books, this is one of the sweeter ones. I'd read it again in a couple of years.
4 stars I purchased a copy of the steamy book Passion Flower, Big Spur, Texas Book 2 by Diana Palmer, and this review was given freely. A series of unfortunate and sad events is combined with hope and strong personalities in this steamy romance featuring the family-less former New York interior designer, the virginal Jennifer King, turned struggling Atlanta, Georgia, temporary secretary, who follows the promise of renewed health and fulfilled dreams to Texas, where she meets the struggling, embittered, and grieving rancher Everett Culhane. 18+ for steamy scenes
In my opinion, so much better than her other writing, Tough to Tame - by leagues! I was so disappointed by that book, I was nervous to read this one. I'm happy I did. Well written, good flow, good detailing. I didn't appreciate some of the S.A. so if you have a history of ab*se, this may be triggering. In the end it all comes together well.
This was just meh. That was the perfect description of this book. There's no chemistry between the main characters, no angst, no tension; nothing. I don't see any tension building up other than the fact the Hero would get angry with the heroine for working too hard. I'm putting the book down nicely so I can continue to look for better ones.
This Palmer’s heroine breaks the mold in a way—she has spunk! And, honestly? The hero isn’t as toxic either. Palmer uses scenes and other key elements in remembrance of Gone With The Wind, also.
I have an old paperback of Passion Flower and I was thrilled to find in on Kindle. I have loved Diana Palmer books for many years, and this is one of my favorites. The moment Jenny meets Everett, the man is rough and unfriendly, but he sees that Jenny is in need of a sanctuary and he offers her a place on his ranch. The love between the two takes a while to develop and because of this, the ending is sweet and perfect. I love this book!!
if you are looking for a light and quick read this book is good for that. no real depth just old fashioned love story, woman mets man and falls in love
