An Angel's Touch

Rate this book
It was tragic enough dying on Christmas Eve…but what on earth are Cathy and Don Angel doing in a bar in Boston, MA. with an archangel, a rule manual and a seemingly impossible mission? It begins when the thirty-something Angels leave New York in a rush of traffic, headed for Connecticut and the prospect of spending Christmas Eve with friends and family. The accident is inescapable and catastrophic; the aftermath, almost beyond belief… Don and Cathy are briefed by Gabriel himself. They're on probation, and must perform three miracles before midnight. If they fulfill their quota, they just might get their wings and a permanent place in the upper realms. Don has a hard time believing it, but Gabriel isn't one to mince words. On earth, they might have been known as the Angels, but that isn't going to earn them any halos. Heaven has much stricter requirements. The apprentice Angels soon find their fates inextricably entwined with the lives of several strangers, all of whom are in desperate need of some divine intervention. Challenged to find solutions where none come easily to hand, Cathy and Don must use all their ingenuity, compassion, and fledgling other-worldly skills to complete their celestial perambulations and come full circle. And in those precious moments between life and death, they just may discover a realm where hope never dies…impossible dreams come true…and miracles can happen.

Cute and super random audio book.

An Angel's Touch felt like a hallmark or lifetime movie. It's set around Christmas time and it definitely gives you some angels. In it, you will meet Cathy and Don. They are a lovely married couple who were rushing one day. It doesn't help that they died and became angels.

Now Don and Cathy were hilarious. Mostly Don because he would so be me if I was in that situation. Cussing up a storm because I just died and now I'm an angel and have to do a scavenger hunt just to stay a Christmas angel. Cathy was definitely sweet and kind hearted.. and just made Don look better to everyone.

Their little scavenger hunt was cute but sad at times. They had missions of bringing people together and helping them find a will to live. In some cases, they just couldn't help and they could only be there for a friend in need. The one thing that made me smile was everyone's reactions to the angels talking to them. It was hilarious because AGAIN I could see people reacting like this in any of those situations. The colorful Christmas pee was hilarious too and I almost spit out my hot chocolate.

Overall, the ending was really cute. A bit predictable but I ended up enjoying this book. Didn't plan on reading a Christmas-y book but no regrets either.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am definitely looking forward to reading more books by this writer.

Cathy and Don Angel are on their way to Connecticut on Christmas Eve and end up dying tragically in a train accident.

Shortly after their death, they meet the angel Gabriel. Gabriel tells them that in order to receive their wings, each one will need to perform three miracles by midnight Christmas Eve.

The first miracle is to convince Jimmy O'Connor, an alcoholic, to leave the bar and go have dinner with his family on Christmas Eve.

Next, find Maggie St. John, a homeless lady, a home for Christmas.

After that, prevent Rowena Trent, a legally blind person, from committing suicide.

Thereafter, Sister Marie Claire is dying from cancer, and the Angel's have to "make death easy for her".

Finally, both Cathy and Don are transported back to the location of the train accident. Their last miracle is to save Cassandra and "the boys".

This book will definitely tug at your heartstrings! I am surprised that this book has not been made into a Hallmark movie!

I definitely recommend this book for anyone who needs an uplifting read.

True Christmas story of miracles, angels & true love

4.5 stars

By far the best Christmas story I have had the pleasure of reading this Christmas season.

A book of delicately interwoven stories or angels performing Christmas miracles for people desperately in need. It reminds you that a miracle isn't always a huge miracle such as curing cancer (which would be miraculous), but sometimes just a small act of kindness truly can change someone's entire life.

The Angels will always have a special place in my life and I'm glad to be a part of their Christmas miracle.

Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a feel good Christmas story or someone who is interested in angels.

Love story of a very different type

This one takes you by supreme surprise. Where you think it will be dark
and tragic just based on the description alone. It somehow keeps you hoping for the best with a faith based twist all the way through!

Very emotional book. This is now my official favorite of hers. It taught me a few things but more important it reminded me of very important things about life, love, death, angels, and most important God.....
Since the day in college that faith had step in Don and Cathy Angel have never been apart. In their 30's with careers they both love there is one thing missing. Children. Been trying and unable for years they decide then the time was right they will adopt but on one faithful Christmas Eve on their way to her parents for a family Christmas get together something happens that no one expects. A train derails and cost major accident with a ton of cars and the deaths of Don and Cathy. Now in order to get their angel wings and to stay together they learn they must each preform 3 miracles before midnight and even though they have the power to grant 1 person(who died) their life returned but the cost would be the lost of the soul of who preform the Miracle. We will go along with Don and Cathy as they "feel" their way through their assignments

Cathy and Don Angel, childless 30 somethings
, die tragically in an accident on Christmas Eve. They meet Gabriel, yes, the angel Gabriel, who is gruff and blunt and tells them of the miracles they must perform tonight to enter heaven
I read this because I was feeling Christmasy and i wanted all the fuzzies. I didn't get them. Don is just a braying jackass. Gabriel is a know-it-all jackass. The people affected by the Angel's entering their lives had good stories but nothing was explored. The ending was an eye raising whaaaat?!
I think i wasn't prepared for this to be a novella instead of a novel. That would explain the "rushed" feeling I got. Nevertheless, I just didn't like how some of the characters were portrayed

Very good and touching story. I am a huge fan of Heather Graham and this book is just one more reason. This is a quick run through of the story, without too many spoilers.
The story is about a childless married couple whose last name is Angel, they are in a terrible accident and both are killed and become Angels in training so to speak. They each have 3 miracles to preform before midnight on Christmas Eve, they work together to complete their lists and in the end are brought back to life and not only do they get 1 child they get 7 orphans from the same accident that they were in originally.

Sweet and cute. A quick, easy read. I wasn't so keen on the heavy-handed religious overtones, but I guess they were to be expected in a book of this nature. The story was heartwarming and it was wonderful to read about people being kind to one another for a change. But once again, I got tripped up by a writer who insisted in overusing the characters' names in the dialogue -- people simply do not constantly call each other by name when speaking to one another. There's no reason for it. And it always annoys me to no end.

Difficult book to review but truly inspirational. I’m not overly religious but still believe there’s something out there and in the miracle of love to get you through many obstacles. Certain things in my life have led me to believe at times then wonder why at other times! Quick read but I was curious to see how it ended despite almost giving up half way through as for me it became a bit too much to take. Don’t think I’ll read much more from this author if they are along the same genre about angels but she did tie everything together very well.

Really nice story. Just finished it and it was very entertaining. If you’ve stumbled upon it, read the preview, and now you’re reading this then that means you must be close enough to wanting to pick it up. If what you’ve learned about the book up to this point has interested you, then let my review give you that final little nudge! You’ll adore the story. It’s really a nice feeling throughout. Thought-provoking. Even quite humorous at times! Makes me think about and keep strong faith that there IS an afterlife and it’s a great one! Awesome adventure!

Killed in a accident on Christmas Eve, Don and Cathy Angel are given a chance to become angels if they can perform six miracles by midnight.

This book was surprising good. Cathy and Don work together to perform the miracles because they do not want to be apart in the after-life. Even though you know they are going to be able to finish their tasks, it's surprising how they actually go about doing it. This story is sentimental and very much a tearjerker for me. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love books about angels and this one was a fun read. Don and Cathy are husband and wife who are killed in a car accident. They head up and meet Gabriel who gives them their assignments...complete 3 miracles each before midnight on Christmas Eve. As they work on their miracles, lives are intertwined. The ending had a twist that was a pleasant surprise.

I always enjoy a good Heather Graham novel and a Christmas one is even better. My truly favorite Christmas story of all time is her book called A Magical Christmas.

This one is a short cute story about a couple that must perform 3 miracles to receive their wings. Some part were a little annoying (for a lack of a better word), mostly the husband's attitude.

Great book overall though!

A sweet amusing little story about Christmas and Angels. The Angels are killed on Christmas Eve in an accident and must perform 3 miracles apiece to determine if they get to heaven. They accomplish this and the story ends on a happy miracle.

If you believe

Wasn’t sure when I started this- thought it’d be another Scrooge type of book. I was wrong! Not only Christmas magic but the spirit of Christmas is the resounding theme. Couldn’t have come at a better time!
