Starving artist, Tiffany Hunter, creates a new business as a Purchase Consultant, a gift saver for desperate, busy, hard-working, or just plain lazy men. Most have procrastinated to the last minute to buy gifts for their wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, even their fiancés. She gets a high from shopping, a rush from the lack of time, and finds pleasure in the women's faces when she pretends to be the delivery person as she drops the gift off at their door. Tiffany Hunter's favorite place to shop is of course, Lauren & Co. on Rodeo Drive, where she meets the sharp-dressed jeweler, Nick Bennett. As Tiffany and Nick's relationship heats up, two of their old flames return. As the summer temperature rises in Southern California, so does the anticipation of which path Tiffany will take. Follow Tiffany on her hilarious and surprising adventure.
This was a pretty fun light read. It is a fast paced story. Instant crush trope. Even though I couldn't relate much to the characters, it was still enjoyable with funny aspects (like stories of bad gifts)
Rodeo Drive is a fun, light romance with great characters! Tiffany is a good-hearted female lead with an artistic eye, while Nick is a charming hero that exercises both patience and persistence throughout the story. There is a lot of detail about art, gifts, and jewelry as the main characters interact displaying several acts of kindness. If you're looking for a relaxing, feel-good romance with an HEA, I highly recommend this book!
All woman love to shop, be it for jewels, clothes or even shoes; the thrill is always unbelievable and besides you get to buy what you want as let's face it how many times does it happen that the man your dating gets it right. But imagine being paid to shop, that's right PAID TO SHOP!
Tiffany is a artist but not the famous dripping in money and fame kind, no she is the real deal a starving artist but she is also like any other "pretty woman of the new world" she loves to shop. And very cleverly she comes up with the perfect job title for herself, Purchase Consultant. What on earth is that? Well she will be the woman to make all the right decisions for the men in the world that simply can't get it right no matter how many times they try or in fact even remember to try.
You simply hire her to get the perfect gift for your wife, girlfriend or fiance and voila your out of the dog-box and definitely getting lucky! For Tiffany this is the perfect distraction, she gets paid, she gets to shop at her favorite stores, which of course include Lauren and Co, which I know none of us, with or with out the money can resist, and best of all she gets a high from the rush of making sure the lavish gifts gets delivered on time.
So what more could a girl want, Tiffany recons nothing, that is until she meets the absolutely gorgeous and not so much smooth talking jeweler Nick Bennett. He is attractive, drives a nice flashy BMW and has a body to die for. Tiffany falls head over bed (with no clothes of course) for Nick and very soon the relationship turns into a nice, smooth running fun fest of lust for them both. Now here is the part where it starts to get interesting, two old flames from the past rear their ugly heads and Tiffany and Nick's paths may go a whole different way that what you were thinking.
This is not your typical boy meets girl, first comes the hot sex then comes the I love you kind of book. No Jennifer Loy delivers a new take on the lives of a "shopper" and her devilish "bad boy".
The character of Tiffany is in deep she needs to chose a path and stick to it, the author has but so much into the character of Tiffany that it simply feels like your connected to her and that you simply must slap her to get to give you a reaction and make a decision. Then there is Nick's character that is just too funny, he as these little pep talks with himself that are beyond hilarious and very much entertaining.
Jennifer Loy has taken a fairy tale life and changed into a modern day romance and she has done so with so much flair and pose and trust me this is a story that no book or movie out there will ever top. Take for ex sample Pretty Woman, that pretty much is the princess fairy tale to modern day fairy tale that we will all remember right? Wrong after reading Rodeo Drive any notions you had of wanting to be like the modern princess Ms. Julia Roberts who gets it all, will be completely erased.
You get to go shopping everyday at your favorite stores, get paid for it, still have time to delve into the world of art and on top of it all you get to have the most gorgeous and funny man alive all to yourself, now that sounds so much better to me than being the rescued by the prince, marring him and still having to live with the fact that he once did treat you as the woman of ill repute that you were.
Jennifer Loy's writing is fun, spicy, sexy, entertaining and loads and loads of fun!
This is a fun story, and the quick pace will keep you engaged. While I liked the story most of the characters drove me crazy--i couldn't always understand their motivations or actions--and elements of the plot were rather convoluted and not believable. But it was enjoyable on the whole.
Such a fun read that I was unable to put down! I felt like I was living the LA dream as Tiffany raced headlong into each new misadventure. I am so happy that I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway!
It was a good light hearted book compared to what I usually read. sometimes I didnt understand the characters pov- like nick kissing his ex to congratulate her- didnt make sense to me at all, but still interesting enough to keep me reading.

When you go on a shopping spree, you don’t expect to find love, do you?
Tiffany Hunter is a young woman who gets a high out of shopping. But she’s not simply a shopaholic, Tiffany’s also a struggling artist. How then to reconcile her love of shopping with the fact that she is pretty much penniless, and make some dough in the process? The solution is simple. She starts a new venture where she will be the personal shopper to men who forget to buy something for the women in their lives on important occasions.
This ‘job’ then leads Tiffany to the interiors of Lauren & Co on Rodeo Drive, a jewellery shop. And surprise for her – it’s not only the jewels that shine, sparkle and lure you in. There’s also the handsome jeweller, Nick Bennet.
Nick is intrigued by this young woman who pops into the shop every so often and who always buys impressive amounts of jewellery. Who is she, and what’s her purpose?
Of course, he later learns she’s a personal shopper of a different kind. Starts then a game of ‘will we meet again’ between the two of them. But neither Tiffany nor Nick are content with just meeting in passing and by chance at the shop. Can they take it to another level?
RODEO DRIVE is a delightful story that combines what most women would swoon under – unconditional shopping, lots of jewellery, the sun and heat of California, and not to mention a sizzling hot and handsome man!
Tiffany is a fun character to follow, and it’s also a joyful trip to find out what she’ll come up with for the poor souls who contact her in droves to use her shopper services. She is painted by Ms. Loy as an engaging character, a woman most of us would empathize with and one who echoes at least some aspect of our lives in her day-to-day happenings.
I enjoyed this book and so will you if you like a breezy story with a fun heroine and a man any one of us could fall for. Check out RODEO DRIVE – and beware that you may be tempted to stay there too!
I laughed, I laughed, and I laughed some more. This romantic comedy had me laughing the whole time. I could picture the main character, Tiffany, as Lucy, her best friend as Ethel, and her 'friend', Nick, as Ricky. That was how hilarious some of the zany antics and situations were in this book. The binds that Tiffany found herself in were crazy, yet still believable. Nick created some situations himself that were 'Lucy'- like, but that just added 'Rodeo Drive's' charm. All of the characters were real and had their charms (well one didn't have his charms, but he wasn't really supposed to). The reader kept wanting to read and not put down the book to see what would happen next.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs to lighten their day, or just wants to read a great, funny, story.
The ONLY thing I would change about this book is the 'surprise elopement' at the end. I would change the guy to Chad (because I like him better). Great book, Jennifer Loy. Keep up the good writing.
This is my first read from Ms. Loy and it will not be my last! This is a fun, witty, romantic read with a drool worthy hero that will charm your socks off and a fiesty heroine that will make you laugh with her quick humour and cry with her inner turmoil. This lovestory drew me in from the first pages and I quickly found myself at the end.
