Counselor Tina Milano has been visiting Milly's Tea Shop regularly for the past several months. She has many friends but no steady man in her life. Zack Cooper is a local farmer who provides Milly with fresh fruit and vegetables. As a single parent, Zack is doing his best to raise his teenage son and daughter on his own. When the kids get in minor scrapes with the law, Milly gently encourages Zack and Tina to work together to draw the teens back before their rebellious natures land them in even hotter water. At first Tina sees the relationship in only a professional capacity, but soon her friends notice the luscious scent of romance in the air and decide to help things along. Tea for Two is a faith-filled novel that explores the delight of second chances, warm friendship, and unexpected romantic encounters.

Trish has such a fun, laid back style of writing, she does have an entire Beach Series. This series follows along with that style but in a new setting and the common denominator between book 1 and book 2 is Milly and her tea shop. In Tea For Two Milly introduces one of her favorite delivery men to one of her favorite customers in an effort to help the single dad who is having a hard time with his two teenagers. So Milly suggests giving her customer, a counselor, a call to see if she would offer some pro bono advice. They inadvertently lead the kids to believe they are seeing each other and then they don't know how to get out of it... and so the fun ensues. This is a great book to take to the beach this summer, even though its not about the beach. So check out this series by Trish Perry for a fun, relaxing read.

Perry's second Tea with Millicent novel is as charming as the first. The romance is meaningful, the goodies delectable, and the humor will bring a smile to your face. Zack's true-to-life dilemmas with parenting will hit home with many readers.
SUMMARY: Zack Cooper is a vegetable farmer with some problems. After his wife abandoned their family many years before, he's been struggling as a single parent. Now that his kids are teens, they are beginning to rebel and he doesn't know how to handle it. Tina Milano is a counselor with a heart for helping. She agrees to befriend Zack and his kids to provide casual advice, but the kids believe she's Zack's girlfriend. And what happens if she and Zack begin to feel the same way?

A Fun Read

Tea for Two was a fun read but also had a great faith thread woven throughout the story. Well developed characters who grow as the story progresses. I highly recommend this sweet romance.

The love story would have to be pretty bad, which it isn't, for me to not like this book. So much of the story takes place in a wonderful little tea shop run by a sweet, older English woman. One of those books that you want to jump right into and be a part of!

Tea for Two by Trish Perry is like breathing in a breath of fresh air in Heaven. It is the second book in this modern day, inspirational romance series (The Tea Shop Series) set in Northern Virginia. Milly, the owner of the tea shop, is a pleasant Christian woman who befriends all of her customers, including counselor Tina Milano and her produce supplier Zack Cooper.

Tina, a single woman and counselor, leads her weekly counseling group at Milly's shop in the mornings, where sessions frequently get off track and onto the subject of Tina's love life, or lack there-of. Zack, a single father to two teenagers, Dylan and Sherry, is in need of some advice and guidance regarding the destructive path his children seem to be taking. After talking to Milly, as encouraging and supportive as she is, he realizes he's going to need some professional help for his falling-apart-family.

After heeding Milly's advice, Zack and Tina agree to work together in a casual manner - but there's a catch – Zack doesn't want Dylan and Sherry to know they're being counseled. During a meeting with Tina at Milly's shop, Dylan and Sherry walk in after school for some treats and see Zack with Tina. Automatically assuming Zack is dating Tina, the kids are thrilled. Not wanting to disappoint his children, Zack and Tina pretend to be in a relationship. But as Tina and Zack start to spend more time with each other and their friendship progresses, are they really still pretending? Can they overcome their trust and faith issues and really become a team?

What a wonderful book! I felt like I was right there in Milly's shop, drinking tea and eating her sweets with Tina and Zack. The characters are well rounded and seem so alive and full of life's journey – wherever that may take them. The Author really made it feel as if Tina and Zack were brought together by the hand of God. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. If you need to take a break from real life to escape to a relaxing, loving, inspiring and upbeat atmosphere, this is the book for you. I would recommend this book to anyone who's looking for an excellent read.

This is the second book of Trish Perry's that I have read, and I can tell you it won't be the last. Perry has a beautiful gift from God for story telling and an eloquent writing style that captivates readers from page one.

Title: TEA FOR TWO
Author: Trish Perry
Publisher: Harvest House
April 2011
ISBN: 978-0-7369-3016-1
Genre: Inspirational/women’s fiction

Zack Cooper is a farmer, and sells his local produce to Millie’s Tea Shoppe among other places. Millie is like an older friend, and is sensitive to Zack’s moods, so when she notices something is up, she asks. Unfortunately, Zack’s teenagers are getting into trouble, minor scrapes with the law, and other things and Zack wants to curtail it before they land in even deeper water. Millie suggests that Zack talk with a therapist she knows to give him parental advice. Zack isn’t interested.

Tina Milano is a therapist, and when Millie approaches her about helping a man, pro bono, who is having some problems, Tina agrees, but on a not-exactly professional level. They were going to act as friends, so she could get to know the teenagers. But Zack doesn’t call.

At least not until something else happens and he realizes things are out of control. But then the romantic sparks fly between him and Tina, and when her friends notice, they decide to help things along.

TEA FOR TWO is the second book in The Teashop Series, but it easily stands alone. I enjoyed getting to know both Zack and Millie and was amazed how accurately Ms. Perry did the therapist character. Tina was definitely a therapist, on and off the clock. Zack was a true father, and like most parents out of his league with teenagers, but in a more difficult position as a single father.

I enjoyed TEA FOR TWO immensely and couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed the sparks between Zack and Tina, evident from the moment they met, the gentle, caring way Millie has with her characters, and I even liked the real-to-life teenagers giving Zack so much trouble. I highly recommend this book. Discussion questions and some wonderful sounding recipes are included at the end of the book. $9.99. 256 pages.

Tea for Two incorporates my two favorite things in this world - a book and tea. I really enjoyed the first book in the Tea with Millicent series, The Perfect Blend, but I can honestly say that I liked this book so much more. I’m not quite sure why exactly that is. Both are written by the same talented author and both are centered around the comings and goings at Middleburg’s favorite tea shop. One of things I really enjoyed about this book is the fact that Zack is a farmer and I love anytime a book involves a farm. They are such beautiful, relaxing places that I just love to read about, then add a tea shop and absolutely delightful characters, and you have one of the most enjoyable, relaxing books I have read in a long time.

Tina and Zach are such sweet and charming people that it was hard not to really like them right from the start. Tina was such a polished and put together woman, professionally, but it seemed liked every time she was around Zach, she would embarrass herself somehow. She always handled those situations with humor and that really endeared her to me. I just really enjoyed this book so very much. I was truly able to just relax and thoroughly enjoy Tea for Two so much more than I was expecting. I have read several of Trish Perry’s books before, but I genuinely liked this one the best, and that is saying a lot because I have enjoyed her books so much. Tea for Two is definitely going to be on my favorites list for this year. I highly recommend you make a cup of your favorite tea and curl up with this book.

Just when I think that Trish Perry has written the perfect book, that she cannot top herself, she brings out another book in the Tea with Millicent series. I love Milly, I feel like she is every sweet older lady you will ever meet all wrapped up in one, and topped off with a darling British accent. This is how I personally picture her.

Tea for Two is a wonderful story of a single father struggling to raise teenagers who are feeling a bit independent and a bit rebellious. He realizes after a trip to the police station to pick up his son, and a scare with his daughter lying about where she was spending the night, that he needs help. Even professional help, and that is where Milly steps in. One of her regular customers is a counselor and she is sure that she can help Zack, and not only that Milly is sure that Zack could use some of this counselor's attention also.

A fast paced story of how two people highly attracted to one another interact in a professional, or a trying to keep it all professional setting. I laughed at many spots in this story, because I could just picture this story and the antics that Zack went through to keep his kids from knowing that they were being counseled, when the whole time the kids were wanting their dad counseled.

Trish does not disappoint, you will love this wonderful story! And oh my the recipes at the back look delicious, Milly and her baking makes you hungry! 243 pages US $9.99 5 stars

Tea for Two was the sweetest romance! I enjoyed it a lot and read it quickly. The plot was endearing and the author managed to make something painful like abandonment, suicide, divorce, etc. into a story with healing potential for people who are dealing with those issues. I loved that about this story. I've done a lot of counseling in my career and the way the story was set up worked very well because it was ethcial and believable. It was cute, actually.

The hero was awesome and dreamy, but also very much a "real" guy who happened to be a single dad dealing with typical teen problems. The author handled this very well and did a great job at showing how communication is so important as well as talking about loss rather than pretending everything is fine. I found the story very inspiring. I adored the heroine, too.

Somehow the author snagged my heart with this novel and kept me reading to the end. She has a way with words and with tenderness in stories. Rather than feeling disappointed by the lack of physical contact between characters, I felt the tension between them was perfectly done and added to the romantic tension in the story. I loved that it was more tender and emotional. It just fit the plot and the characters. Well done!

Tina Milano is a counselor who facilitates some group meetings at Milly’s tea shop. One rainy day she nearly runs straight into Zack Cooper as he delivers fresh produce to the shop. She thinks he’s kind of cute, and Zack says the same about Tina to Milly. Which gives Milly an idea.

Zack’s wife left about four years ago, leaving him with two kids heading into their teen years. He’s been losing his parenting grip and has no clue how to get back a relationship with his kids. Milly asks Tina if she ever takes on pro bono cases–and if she would help out this friend of hers. Tina agrees, and then finds out it’s the hunky produce guy.

His kids walk in on Tina and Zack’s very first meeting at the tea shop and immediately assume Dad has a girlfriend, and it’s about time, and when was he going to tell them? Tina and Zack stammer a bit but let it go, both assuming this will give Tina more opportunities to find out what makes Dylan and Sherry tick.

As you can guess, they fall for each other and things get complicated and then resolved. This type of romance novel isn’t in what is new, plot-wise, because we know how it will end. It’s in the characters and the setting.

Tea for Two by Trish Perry

Book two of the Perfect Blend series doesn’t disappoint. I want to wander into Millicent’s tea shop. That appears to be the place where the magic starts for Perry’s characters. The tea shop is a character on it’s on, making you desperately want to hit the back of the book and hit the kitchen. The recipes sound amazing and if I weren’t allergic to gluten I’d be trying out a few of these. I may still try with some gluten free flour. The one I really want to try would be impossible, but it sounds amazing. Malted Chocolate Mousse Cake. Dreaming….. okay I’m back. No, malt for me I’m afraid.

So you want to know about the story?

Interesting take this time, Perry writes about characters who are divorced. I’m glad to see the CBA (Christian Booksellers Association) freeing writers up to write about divorced characters: it’s realistic of our world.

I am not divorced but I have friends who are and reading Tea for Two had me smiling several times as I recalled those friends frustrations of looking for MR. or Mrs. Right in the new dating world.

This is a nice quick read for a beach or a few days when you just want to get to your happy place. It is a romance novel with a faith based story line as well. A divorced father of 2 mildly rebellious teenagers is struggling to raise them alone. He is a farmer and his no good wife has run off, and is not in their lives at all. Enter the town counselor, of course a pretty widower. The plot is that she "pretends" to befriend the family, all to unofficially counsel the kids. Church, jealous cop ex-boyfriends, a cooler than cool tea shop with yummy treats that kept making me go eat when I was reading about it all pull the story together nicely. Of course all these type books have a happy ending and this is no different. I did not find this too sappy, and actually this is the first Christian "light fiction" that I have read. Frankly I was not sure that I would care for it, but I did enjoy the book.

Sometimes protecting your heart…..could break it.

Life, after losing a spouse to death or divorce, can leave an unrealized impact. Often a fierce determination to “go it alone” surfaces and the wall of self protection is raised. This is the case for Zak Cooper, a farmer with two teenagers to raise. He seeks advice from counselor Tina Milano who he meets through Milly, a mutual friend.

Trish does an excellent job of bringing these two in contact with nicely flowing short chapters. Realistic action, in the small community, interlinks the unexpected. Great characters, with many facets, enjoy the thrill of achieving the “impossible” and beating the odds.

Tea for Two will renew your hope, open your heart, and lift your spirit!

I happened to pick this book up just by the look of the front cover. Had I looked more closely I may not have picked it up at all simply because its religious based. I'm not very religious and I don't typically read anything that deals with it but I found this book to be rather good. I think this book captures the truth about what happens when kids start acting out due to a divorce, and it does a good job to show how parents seem to be "mean" when trying to talk to their kids. I also liked the unexpected romance in the book - even though its easy to figure out whats going to happen. Overall I'm happy I decided to read the book from open to close. I look forward to reading the others by this author.

I really enjoyed Perry's ability to make her characters come alive. I was thankful for the short bursts of laughter that came from the most human moments in the story. I must have laughed out loud 20 times. Though at times, I will admit, I was a bit distracted by the too-easy-perfection of the story, but that's what fiction is all about, right? What I especially loved was the role of the town matron--the Tea Shop owner. Milly was a sweet, caring guardian who added a sense of comfort to the story. Lastly, the Christian story line was woven incredibly well into the story--not in your face, but very practical and real.

Second chances happen, and sometimes they happen at the right time and for the right reasons. This book highlights that. An enjoyable read about two everyday people who make the right choices. Zack is a single dad with teenagers teetering on rebellion. Tina is a counselor with the ability to help his family. This is a light, feel-good read suitable for any age. The characters are fresh and have a down-to-earth appeal. My favorite character is Milly, the owner of the tea house, who I have named a sheep after. I recommend this one!

I loved this book. Let me say, I chose it because of the title. I love tea and I love books lol, so I figured this would be a win-win situation and it was! The book is predictable, I won't lie about that, but it's so cute. I fell in love with Zack, I mean, he's a sweetie. I love Tina, her attitude reminded me of myself a little bit. It wasn't preachy or boring, it was really romantic and sweet with just enough drama to keep it interesting. I loved Milly as well, wish I knew someone like her. Great book.

This was my third Trish Perry book; unfortunately I don't think it lived up to her other books. This is the second book in the Tea Shop series, but almost none of the original characters reappear. It didn't really engage me like her other books; it felt like I was listening to someone tell me a story instead of being able to watch it for myself.

If this had been my first Perry book, I'm sure I wouldn't be as critical. I had just expected more.

I pulled this one off my shelf about a week ago, but didnt actually start it until today.. and I could not put it down! It was such a cute story with insight into why people do the things they do..and how sometimes you can hear what you want and not what someone is actually saying.. I love how the bond built slowly and naturally, and no matter what happened they always ended up back in each others path, one way or another... A GREAT READ!!!!!!!! yet another dollar store GREAT FIND!!!

Another cute tea-themed Christian romance novel. Not as good as the first in the series, but I liked that none of the characters overreacted to misunderstandings. I wish there had been more descriptions of tea and food in this one; it took place more outside the tea shop than in.
