Finally Elyon trusts the girls! All in all, i liked the prospect of elyon's memory with her mom and the trouble with the Interpol agents. its also pretty cute when matt asks will out just when shes havin trouble with Vathek. nice i recommend it and the end is also suspenseful when will's mom asks for a transfer.

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

Will’s mom is certainly a pain. But other than that, love it.

This was so much more engaging than the previous two!

It had ACTION, it had HUMOR (Varthek not knowing anything about the human world, and the writer actually sticking to it was hilarious), and actual scene setting, not just plain description of events). The POVs felt authentic and consistent—unlike in the previous books, where we sometimes learned about thoughts outside the main character’s perspective for that chapter. Elizabeth Lenhard even used some literary devices, which added depth to the narrative.

The inclusion of two Elyon POVs was a highlight for me, they’re my favorite.

The extra commentary and internal thoughts of the characters, which weren’t present in the comic chapter, enhanced the story and contributed to character development. However, the way it's written, especially in previous chapter books, felt a bit forced and might even be retconned in the next novels to align with the comics' pacing.

Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

This was a really good continuation of the story, Cornelia and her relationship with Elyon was explored some more and was very enlightening. Will and her mother's relationship is going down hill and the mom is projecting her own problems on to Will, thinking that she does not like Heatherfield. This was an interesting situation seeing Elyon start to become more queen like and start to see and care for her people more. This was very enjoyable and a great re-read.

A Bridge Between Two Worlds
PLOT: Two Investigator's check out Elyon's house for clues of her disappearance. Meanwhile, Elyon in Meridian contemplates where her place is and where she belongs. She misses her Earth parents who have been thrown in jail. Cornelia is missing Elyon at the same time. At Irma's house, the two detectives try to get information out of the girls (especially Cornelia). Valtrek comes in the form of a message from Elyon who needs there help to rescue their parents. While Cedric plans to eliminate her parents and take the powers forming inside her and ups the coronations time. WITCH comes to the rescue and frees the parents and prisoners. Elyon destroys the prison using a new found power that's been inside her all along.

MY THOUGHTS: The first thing I took from this book is how it feels to care about someone (no matter how long you've known them) despite how bad they (seemingly) turn out to be. In ABBTW Cornelia reminisces about the time she and Elyon were close. Since I'm reading these slightly out of order & am just decided to read the comics (since they're more accessible online and now maybe I can read them in order) this seems to be a time where Elyon's motives are questionable to the rest of WITCH. It seems like they don't trust her (shown when Valtrek comes to deliver the message), but Cornelia is the only one that still seems to be clinging to the good that she knows that's there in Elyon. Sometimes even when situations and circumstances seem bad relating to the person you care about, everyone else can have doubts but it's just something there (no matter how slim) that doesn't let you forget what they mean to you. Sometimes it feels odd to me, the attraction of Cornelia and Peter (and also that his name is Peter because I don't think I've ever heard of an African American man named Peter. Maybe Pete.). Just because they're SO different. But then just proof of opposites attracting at work. The other thing about the story that grabbed my attention was how the flashbacks tied in with the end. I thought that (as an artist) it's pretty cool to be about to just physically erase events that you don't like and set them right again. And also that Irma's gift allowed her to see through the tear (make it evaporate?) and see that the girl in the drawing was Elyon (the light of Meridian). So there were a lot of cool little details to this. And it was good to see Matt ask Will out. I was wondering with all the books I read prior was he EVER gonna get around to doing that. I could also relate to Elyon's confusion about where in this world she belonged and her purpose. But it seems like in the end, she's on the right path to being Meridian's Light.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

Interesting narrative point of views, fast pact action sequences with a side of budding romances and beautiful illustrative comic strips at both the beginning and the end of the book.
