If you are familiar with this author, you know exactly what to expect from one of her books. Manwhore extraordinaire H, virgin doormat h, possesive Alpha behavior and a nice HEA. Every time I read a book by this author I ask myself why? why do I do this to myself?

Knowing what to expect, I did enjoy this one. The H was head-over-heels in love with the h but could never admit it and make himself vulnerable. (I guess his Greek macho-ness just couldn't handle it) The h was sweet and amazing and also a doormat who took the blame for everything. But the two of them were cute together and I enjoyed myself.

If I were this h, I would throw myself off a bridge. Wait, I take that back. I would throw the H off a bridge along with everyone who supported him in any way then I would get myself a hell of a lot of therapy because I am a world-class all-weather doormat.

what a mess! I absolutely hated this one. From the simpering heroine to the heavy handed hero, everything made me question why this book got printed in the first place. The story starts out normally enough with a runaway h being chased by the H and that's where it completely loses it's plot. Where there could have been some great angst; there was none. The h (Sophie) is so spineless, I had a hard time believing she had managed to muster enough courage to run away in the first place. The H (Demetrius) on the other hand seemed to think throwing money at things or outright buying them (including people) was the acceptable thing to do. At one point,I even found myself starting to feel a little sympathetic towards the OW - in this case, the h's sister who had set out to disrupt their marriage. I mean it's kind of understandable when everyone is treating your sibling as though she's porcelain and you're just a trouble maker.I had issues with the number of times the h's family members mused on how delicate and sweet she is and must be protected at all cost - including being barred from having any real contact with the outside world ( the OM didn't stand a chance).

And what's worse, this is a book where the H never confesses his love for the h. Oh you have all the secondary characters reassuring the h about it and the h herself 'feeling' loved because 'he's a husband who was very considerate of her feelings' (except to tell her that he loves her); after all, he did buy her sister's son for her and didn't give her too much bling - which would have put her on the same level as his mistresses. I kid you not. The h actually thought the fact that the H didn't give her too many jewels, meant, he cared about her above all else.

And finally, the writing - it was absolutely horrible. Sometimes, you can get through a poor plot line simply based on how good the writing is. Here, no such luck. The writing sucked and the ideas in this book make you wonder if it was created at least 50 years back. This is definitely not for my generation. So if you're looking to read this one - consider yourself warned!

The Greek Tycoon's Runaway Bride by Lietha Wards
Book 2
In the first book, The Billionaire's Secret Desire, we know of Demetrius and that his young bride, Sophie, is missing. Demetrius leaves to find her after searching for nine months and this book picks up at that point. Demetrius finds his beautiful nineteen year old bride working as a waitress. Besides the betrayal of her leaving him he can't believe she would lower herself to such a position. He is quite forceful with her, being a Greek alpha male in his prime. Demetrius was brought up to wrong a billion dollar company and not show any emotion so Sophie had no clue how her husband truly felt about her.

Sophie has worked nine months trying to get by. She has lost weight but also learned much about life. She always had all she needed and was sheltered so in some ways her experience changed her life and outlook. She believed she was no more than a possession for her handsome husband. Sophie was shamed first by Demetrius and then by her father. She had embarrassed both of them with her actions and would have to work to regain trust and forgiveness.

The book has many rough roads for this couple. Misunderstandings, betrayals, and more lead them down a road that ends up with life and death decisions. Others who are awed by the handsome Demetrius and beautiful Sophie try to interfere in their marriage as well. Can they survive all that comes their way? You will have to read it for yourself to find out. I highly suggest reading The Billionaire's Secret Desire first. They are stand alone but if you like continuations you'll enjoy it and you will learn more about her brother Niko's as well.

I don't know how on earth I manage to find books with the worst editing and spelling typos. It really does detract from the storytelling.

Even in the blurb up top -- devestating...really? Someone needs to keep spell check on when using their Internet browser and pay attention to the little red line that appears under misspelled words.

I will write a more cohesive and well-thought out review once my irritation subsides.

Oh. My. God. What century was this book written in? I'm still on the first chapter, and I'm literally forcing myself to carry on reading. Who does this Demetrius think he is? His tone and the things he says to her are terrible. I just don't care for his tone and frankly this heroine shouldn't either.

Chapter 2. wish me luck

As good as the first novel in the series if not better. I totally enjoyed the novel and everything that happened in it. NOW THIS IS A HARLEQUIN!

This h is beyond pathetic!
I kept waiting for her to grow a spine, for something to happen. But she’s just to self deprecating. She blames herself for shaming her family by running away and thinks that she doesn't deserve the H. Now, this sound’s like she’s the one who gives herself a bad time. At the very start of the book, when the H finds her, she get to know the truth about the thing that made her run. Which is fine. But the way the H, Her father and her brother keeps banging on about how she shamed her family etc etc was, the only way to describe it, creepy. It felt like she was in some sort of mafia family.
The only redeeming thing is that at the end there is some inner monologues of the father and brother where they acknowledge that hey have been harsh to the h.

This story read like a very bad Harlequin, with a Hero who was unemotional and acted wooden as a tree, and a heroine who was the biggest doormat I have ever read before. Don't get me wrong, I do like this exact scenario in my stories, but the story should eventually have at least a smidgen of angst, some emotional connection, and the Hero at some point should become a little bit redeemable. I didn't feel any connection to either of these characters, and I never cared about their relationship at all. There was zero drama from the OW (sister) too, which this boring story desperately needed.

Great read

I love this story. The characters draw you in and make you root for them. I even found the sister a sympathetic character.

namanya Demetrius ganteng, kaya, keren, cool abis, posesif banget ama istrinya (sophie yg umur 18 thn), mencari istri yg melarikan diri, bukan karena istrinya ga cinta dia, gara2 kakak Sophie si helene yg merusak perkawinan mereka gara2 dia iri sama sophie.

Completely, disgustingly ridiculous book. It really pissed me off that even right at the end, Demetrius still wouldn't tell Sophie he loved her even when it was SO obvious he did. JUST SAY IT! SHE ALMOST DIED! He should have SPEAK HIS MIND. A little too possessive man who though cared for his wife but cared for his ego the most. Cant Demetrius see the love for him in Sophie's eyes? Cant he understand her feelings, what she has gone through with?

Omg, Her husband Demetrius sounded sooo hot! I think Sophie should have let him explain before she ran off like that. He cared about his wife a lot. I think it's awful that her own sister would do what she did, and found it hard to see if sister for what she really did. Everything worked out in the end.
