In this inspirational anthology, fifty-two international writers respond to images from award-winning fine art photographer Meg Boscov with exactly one-hundred words. These “healing visions” arise forcefully against the backdrop of our seemingly ever-darkening world. All proceeds will be donated to groups fighting for women’s rights, everywhere.

“Boscov's photographs showcase the beauty and wonders of the world and life in general, embodying the resilient nature of the human spirit. The contributing authors do a splendid job of adding layers to the ethereal quality of the pictures, each distinct from the other and bringing something of their own to the colorful and vibrant narrative. A must-read for anyone looking to begin their healing journey.” — Pikasha Deka, 5 Stars

“Healing Visions is one of the most beautiful collections of words and images that I have ever read or seen. With each one, my admiration for Meg Boscov's skills increased. The 52 accompanying texts are equally fabulous. Award-winning photographer Meg Boscov provides inspiration for 52 international women writers writing prose in 100 words. A wonderful mix of story, creative nonfiction, and prose poetry that includes such masters as Kathy Fish, Kim Chinquee, Tara Laskowski, Sherrie Flick, Deb Olin Unferth, Ethel Rohan, Pamela Painter, and Molly Gaudry. Too many to list, including yours truly! What I especially loved was seeing in each micro prose a bit of the author and her way of writing, seeing, absorbing the world. Plus the photos and design are stunning.

ALL proceeds will go to organizations fighting for women's rights globally.

What a beautiful book of photography and 100-word essays, made all the more beautiful because it came as a surprise gift holding payment for my essay To the Hero on the J Train that Crashed on the Williamsburg Bridge 28 Years Ago, sent by editor Randall Brown who also writes the introduction to this gift of healing visions:
Imagine, stuffed into the coffin-like MRI tube, the walls pressing, the machine pounding, instead of deep primal fear, you have a vision: a dahlia appears like the bright points of stars. Instead of fear and panic, your mind builds to a finale of peace and healing, a display of light, torches alit, synapses firing over and over, each one a new flower, a gardenia, a poppy, an ethereal nigella. Instead of flight, your mind wants you to stay. Instead of turning on you, your mind envisions what might save you.
This sumptuous hardcover book would be a great gift for anybody going through hard times . . . or anybody.

In this impressive anthology, fine art photographer Meg Boscov immerses readers, dreamers, writers, and viewers alike in a compilation of more than one hundred images whose source of inspiration is her backyard, such as the beautiful gardens she has planted in her pool. Buoyed with thoughtful and contemplative prose of exactly one hundred words, fiction, and non-creative fiction, from fifty-two writers, what follows is a culmination of healing visions from vitalizing writers.

This gala of images begins with a striking foreword from Randall Brown that sheds light on the purpose of the text along with the inspiration behind it, thereby communicating the creative and emotional story behind this collection. These full-color photographs are finely paired with poetic prose that showcases the writers’ finesse in their art as they gather observations from the mundane, human struggles, loss, diversity, nature, love, and introspective anecdotes among others. The stories are further imbued with charming and inviting choice of language that enlivens the text’s fervent message.

The text is congenial and immediate, balancing its emotional aspect with enlightening details. Meg Boscov’s unmistakable skill plays out in the vivid colors and gorgeous textures that her images entail against the backdrop of the breathtaking landscapes from which they are shot, making them come alive before our eyes. As this beautiful stark portraiture unfolds before us, readers are further compelled to linger on and look more keenly at this magical world that she manages to create. The feather stroke of this text is the sense of silence that these photos seem to capture: no man-made noise, only sounds of nature and the all-too-rare sound of silence invoking in us a call to quietude to slow down and listen to the stillness of the natural world.

“Healing Visions: An Anthology of Micro Prose and Fine Art Photography” by Meg Boscov is an extravaganza of humanity created to protect and fight for women’s rights everywhere. That the short lyrical essays and stunning images complement each other so well along the pages is an unanticipated pleasure. Boscov’s evocative five-star garland is a great addition to the literature of photography art.

Healing Visions is an inspirational book by Randall Brown. Fifty-two authors recorded their responses to images by Meg Boscov, an award-winning fine art photographer who experiences fibromyalgia. The writers were tasked to record their reactions to Boscov’s work in exactly one-hundred words of prose. A forward about the intent of the pieces is written by Randall Brown. The proceeds from their work will be donated to the ongoing worldwide fight for women’s rights, and many of the pieces reflect that in the theme.
Each poem will touch the reader, bringing forth feelings of hope, loss, awareness, or frustration. Many of the pictures of flowers are set against a dark background, a symbol of challenging periods of time, but some of the images contain bright colors, and the text that follows provides feelings of hope and peace or remembrance. Spectacular imagery and eloquently and delicately written words evoke powerful emotions as the writers arouse each of the five senses. Randall Brown’s collection compares strength to nature and impacts readers with descriptions that bring forth nostalgia and a yearning for change. The reader will recognize the many roles of women and become privy to flashes of thoughts that may vibrate into their lives. The language is lovely, and many of the lines will resonate with readers, as the descriptive force of the women authors and photographer is unparalleled. Healing Visions is an anthology that is best digested by readers with an open mind who hope for change and appreciate powerful lines and lovely photography.

This is a gorgeous book in all categories. It is visually poetic, tactile to the eye, so much so the photographs seem to float. Turning each page is verbal origami in images and prose. To bind it in anything less than hard cover would be an insult to the talent and the intent of this endeavor.

The introduction, beautifully written by Randall Brown, is as much a dedication as it is a meditation. The floral pictorials provide a reflective motif; a picture is worth a thousand words, a word is worth a thousand pictures reduced to single images. The flora and prose are exquisitely paired. The contrasting prose offsets the seeming serenity in each blossom; it belies their appearance of the visual calmness. The coloration graphics of each title
provides subtlety to the blossoming of its preceding page.

There is strength and courage in the words and images, the authors invite and welcome you in sharing their struggles and triumphs. There are arcs of progression and despair, and always there is hope. You will be compelled to select your favorites and revisit them, perhaps for reassurance, perhaps for the sheer beauty of the voice of words and nature beckoning your return. I highly recommend purchasing "Healing Visions" as a Mother's Day gift. Your Mother/female loved one will treasure this anthology of women's writings of such exceptional caliber. All the proceeds will go to groups fighting for women's rights all over the world.

Healing Visions is a beautifully curated anthology that brings together photography and short-form writing in a deeply moving and visually rich way. The combination of Meg Boscov’s evocative images and the 100-word responses from fifty-two writers creates a unique and immersive reading experience.
What makes this collection stand out is its emotional resonance. Each pairing of image and text feels intentional, offering different perspectives on themes of healing, resilience, and human connection. Despite the brevity of the written pieces, they manage to add meaningful depth to the visual storytelling.
The collaborative nature of the book also enhances its impact, making it feel like a collective reflection on hope and strength in challenging times. Its purpose-driven focus, particularly in support of women’s rights, adds further significance to the work.
A thoughtful and uplifting collection for readers who appreciate art, inspiration, and emotionally rich storytelling.
