I love photography, poetry, mixed media and journaling, so this appealed to me immediately. Plenty of interesting projects, pistes and inspiration here.
Easily adaptable to individual interpretation and great insight into the workings of a handful of artists. A book I would happily add to my shelf.

The emphasis is largely on poetry. Didn't see many mixed media examples. Many ideas were mostly "blah" to me and not much of an inspiration.

I originally had this book on my Amazon wish list to purchase the paperback version. Then I saw that it was available to "check out" through the Prime lending library. I am very glad I did that.

Overall, disappointed in the book. While there are some good ideas and prompts, for the most part, it just didn't thrill me. I felt that many of the ideas were too similar to one another and just got sort of recycled throughout. I also felt no inspiration from the MANY artist 'interviews.'

Now, it is possible that some of this was due to the bad formatting of the kindle version. Many times, the pictures that went along with the text were on a different 'page' (sometimes two or three 'pages' later), which really interrupted the flow. Also, there were many, many incidents of words that had a space in the middle of them. Imagine rea ding something li ke this.

In summary, glad I borrowed it for free, and it is now off my wishlist to own.

I picked this book up at the library and well that was a mistake - a good mistake. Because it made me want to go out and purchase the book right away so I would have time to fall into it the way I wanted...from the moment of reading the first pages I knew it was a book I need to have available in my studio/home always. It is a book for exploring and that takes time...longer then just having a couple weeks of it checked out at the library. But I am so glad I picked it up there so I knew without a doubt this is a good book and will be deeply personal but playful and fun. I can't wait to buy it and jump into ready to explore myself in a different way. Thank you Liz Lamoreux for creating such a lovely book.

This was given to me as a gift and what a great gift! I read through it in one sitting; now beginning the process of digesting the information, working through the suggestions, bit by bit ~ it is a book to savor and slowly work through, just like an archeological dig, brushing off all the great finds and memories, adding to the awareness of who we were and who we now are, promoting forward movement. Love the combination of photography with journaling/poetry/writing.

This book is full of all kinds of prompts involving photography, poetry and mixed media. I haven't experimented much with poetry before and this book was a beautiful way to lean into that. I do love photography, but never take photos of myself and loved that aspect of looking at myself without judgment. Liz is a wonderful leader to take you on a journey to learning more about yourself in this book.

I am biased, because this was written by my friend Liz. However, I am a big believer in using your creativity to foster healing, and that is what this book is about. Whether you passion is writing, painting, photography, or something else, Liz guides you with prompts and gentle words to discovering you passion and a creative way to healing.

This is the kind of book an author can be really proud of. It's inspiring, encouraging; full of great ideas, and deep thoughts. In fact, the only problem with it is that I need to return it to the library. I've got to get a copy for myself. I'm off to the bookstore.

An enjoyable book with good ideas to jump-start one's creativity. It's encouraging me to take photos again. Also mentioned a Squam art camp of which I've never heard. Will have to check it out.

Inspiring book and exercises but I prefer something that goes deeper and involves a more spiritual approach to life. The best part was doing the collaborative exercises with my adult daughter.
