Eleri and the Brute

Eleri's is smart, creative, kind, and very talented. She also works hard and enjoys time with her new friends.

I love that when Elery was having lunch with a friend and they had a conversation about the worst cooking mistakes they ever made, it It was so funny it reminded me of the time when I was a newlywed and was following my Mother-in-laws recipe. My husband and I bought sweetened condensed milk instead of dehydrated milk. And to make matters worse, I read the recipe wrong and up with double the amount of Paprika. It was so sweet and spicy to eat it.
I had fun reading this story.

Eleri runs away from her abusive fiance, Norman to become a part time switchboard operator and meets boat builder, Dewey. Eleri and Dewey gel well together and Dewey is patient with Eleri understanding her need for time due to her previous relationship she ran from. Eleri does seem naive regarding how persistent her ex fiance is in his determination to bring her back to Chicago for their wedding and takes an unnecessary risk in carrying out the plan she, Dewey and her friends have devices to protect her. The book does end abruptly with no resolution of what happened with Norman.

Eleri and her escape

First off, I loved the name Eleri. I’ve not heard that name before. I do wish the author would have picked a better name for Dewey.

My rating is due to typos, but mostly because of so many modern words and phrases.

Also, Eleri was foolish to not marry Dewey sooner to avoid all the problems with Norman. They both loved each other.

Good read

Hard to put down! Loved the characters! The easy Sleek arrived in Anchorage and met Dewey kept me reading! I also liked the way the looked got into the action!
