What you'll love: patterns for knitting all the classic women's sweater styles in cotton yarns from fingering weight (7 stitches per inch) to medium-bulky (3.5 stitches per inch).

What you might not love: It's possible to ignore the knitted-in color patterns and just make the sweaters, or to use the color patterns to knit a pillow, but as shown, here are some vintage lost-in-the-1980s patterns, including the "Mondrian Squares" shown on the cover.

There's very little verbiage in this book, just one pattern after another. If you can ignore the birds of paradise and similar period touches, most of the patterns are as wearable as ever.

A very "Eighties" book, this was interesting to look at, but not much more. Some good geometric patterns that might be adapted to other uses, but not vintage enough to interest me, and too clunky in the designs to consider making for myself. And the sizing, while fairly generous, doesn't offer plus sizes, along with that other Pet Peeve of mine, not spiral bound - IMO all knitting pattern books ought to be spiral bound! Got this out from the library to try and find a summery cotton shell to make on large-ish needles to wear fairly quickly, and was disappointed.
